2001 Volvo S80 T6 Executive Edition. 2.8l I6 Twin Turbo. Automatic. 127k. on 2040-cars
Patterson, New York, United States
2001 Volvo S80 T6 Executive Edition for sale. Clean title. Automatic transmission with available tiptronic manual sport shifting. 127k miles. This is the top of the line model with every option. FULLY LOADED. Drives very well and comfortably, it's like riding on a cloud!. It gets above average gas mileage surprisingly(being such a large and powerful car). This is a high performance 2.8L I6 Twin Turbo 268hp engine and it requires premium fuel only! Very roomy and comfortable 4 door sedan with heated, power adjusted leather seats. The perfect combination of luxury and sport from Swedish engineers. Black exterior paint which is glossy and in decent shape. The car is not brand new so it would be unrealistic to expect mint condition. It has minor scratches and dings nothing terribly obvious. Interior I would rate at a 8/10. The car was purchased as a spare until we could shop around and buy a new car. We just bought that brand new car so now we need to make some room. The KBB value is estimated at $2,971 - $5,449, and similar cars are selling for between $4000 and $5000+.
Black Exterior with Tan Leather Interior Transmission: 4-Speed Automatic Overdrive with Tiptronic Standard Engine 2.8L 268 hp I6 Horsepower 268 @ 5400 RPM Torque (lb-ft) 280 @ 1800 RPM City (mpg) 18 Highway (mpg) 26 Sunroof Air Conditioning Power Windows Power Door Locks Leather Seats Heated Seats Driver Multi-Adjustable Power Seat Power Seats Cassette Player CD Player Driver and Passenger Side Airbags ABS Brakes Traction Control Tilt Steering Daytime Running Lights (insurance saver $$$) The car does have some minor issues but is completely driveable and ready to go. It does leak some oil. Haven't had time to look to see exactly where it's coming from, but it could be something as simple as an oil pan gasket, I'm not sure. As long as the oil is full, there's no worries. Lastly, the exhaust emits some smoke, probably due to the oil leak, the excess is being burnt off. Feel free to msg and come take a look, I've been as honest as I could and I'll answer any questions you may have. Don't wait for your chance at an affordable luxury car! This car won't last at this price!! $200 deposit due within 2 days of auction end, remaining balance within 7 days. Please do not bid if you do no have funds available!! Thanks for Looking! |

Top torque-to-weight ratios under $100k, $50k and $25k
Tue, 07 Oct 2014Horsepower may steal a lot of headlines, but the always-more-complex torque figure is often a critical one for both the workingman and the motoring playboy. The measure of rotational force represents the twist that can liquefy one's tires or haul one's horse trailer. Good stuff.
It follows then, that as with the horsepower-to-weight list that we assembled for you a few months ago, a list of cars that offer the most pound-feet with the fewest pounds to carry, is an interesting one to break down. Sure, there's a big difference in how the torque is applied from a turbocharged six-cylinder in a Swedish luxury sedan and a massive heavy-duty truck's turbo-diesel. But being the car/stat geeks that we are, we think it's kinda neat that those two vehicles rank near each other where torque and weight intersect.
As with the horsepower list, we've given you figures as pounds per every one pound-foot. Again broken down into broad price categories, we've got a mixed bag of 2014 and 2015 models here, too. Every effort has been made to select the most up-to-date prices and specs, and we've also to omitted some '14 cars that won't be re-upped after the ongoing yearly changeover.
Junkyard Gem: 1982 Volvo 244 DL
Sat, Jul 9 2022Because it was sold in the United States for so many years — 19 model years, to be exact — and won the hearts of so many American drivers with its reliability and safety, sufficient examples of the Volvo 200 Series remain in service that they continue to show up in self-service car graveyards nearly 30 years after the last ones left the showroom. We saw a low-mile Richelieu Red 1983 Volvo 244 DL in a Denver-area yard last year, and now I've found a near-identical 1982 244 DL in another yard located between Denver and Cheyenne. Volvo went through several variations in the naming scheme for these cars between 1975 and 1993; during the first half of the 1980s, the 240 was badged using just the trim level. That makes this car a 1982 Volvo DL, the cheapest trim level available at the time. By now, though, everyone who knows old Volvos uses the three-number system of the 1970s, with the second digit indicating the number of engine cylinders and the third digit representing the number of doors. I'll be using the 244 designation here. This car came from the factory with a fuel-injected 2.1-liter SOHC straight-four rated at 112 horsepower. This car has the base four-on-the-floor manual transmission with an overdrive selected via the switch on the shift knob. If you wanted an automatic transmission, you had to pay an extra $325 (just over a thousand bucks in 2022 money). Later in the decade, a five-speed manual became available on the 240. Most 240s rack up better than 200,000 miles during their careers (and I've seen quite a few that made it past 300,000), but this car didn't reach that figure. This car still has its original AM/FM/cassette radio, which would have cost serious money in 1982. The MSRP on this car was $10,260, or about $31,800 in 2022 dollars. The two-door version went for $9,785 ($30,330 now). You could get a new 1982 Buick LeSabre Limited sedan for $9,331, and it was much roomier and more powerful than the VolvoÂ… but not as good in a crash. There's very little rust on this car, and the only serious body damage is this dented passenger-side door. The rodent nesting detritus under the hood and the lack of wear on the seat fabric suggests that it got parked for good a decade or three back. Perhaps it would have been rescued and revived in the rustier parts of the continent, but there's a glut of restorable 244s and a shortage of Volvo enthusiasts in the Denver area. Volvo fires up S60 and V60 Polestar production
Mon, 30 Jun 2014We were pretty smitten with the Volvo S60 and V60 Polestar models during our First Drive in Sweden a few months ago. We especially loved the way that its Öhlins adjustable dampers offered a perfect balance between suppleness and sporty handling. Now, the rest of the world will finally be getting the chance to take the Polestar models for a spin because Volvo is shipping out the first units of the limited-edition vehicles.
Their completion marks the first time ever that Polestar-tuned models have come off the line at Volvo's Torslanda factory. However, production of the 350-horsepower hatchback and sedan is very limited. Volvo is building a total of just 750 of them for the world market, and the US is only getting 80 wagons and 40 sedans.
In addition to the cutting-edge dampers and more powerful engine, both Polestar models benefit from a rear-biased all-wheel-drive system routed through a six-speed automatic with paddle shifters and launch control. Six-piston Brembo calipers bring things to a halt, and the limited models get unique front and rear fascias and 20-inch wheels. These are two very hot Swedes, and if rumors are right, then there are even more tuned Volvos from Polestar on the way. Scroll down to read the full announcement.
