2004 Volvo C70 Convertible finished in Silver Metallic paint with a Black top and Silver leather interior. This car is an extremely rare find having only 16k miles on it. The car was purchased in March of 2004 and has had one owner since then. It is optioned with CD changer, heated seats, and wood steering wheel. It has always been garaged, maintained only at the dealer, and lovingly cared for. The owner had become ill and unable to drive a few years into owning the car and this the reason the mileage is low. Additionally, the car was not driven in the winter months. The lack of use has left the car extremely well preserved. It drives like new and looks stunning. This C70 is like getting a new car.
The exterior of the car is in excellent condition. The paint holds a very deep showroom shine with no signs of fade. There is no rust on this car and it has not been involved in any accidents. The car has wear consistent with being driven 16k. It has picked up a couple of scratches, dings, etc., there are two scratches that have been touched up on the right, rear quarter. All glass, plastic, and trim pieces are in perfect shape and have no damage. The roof has a few wrinkles but is in excellent condition. The wheels do have areas of curb rash but are in very good condition aside from that. The interior of the car is in excellent condition. The leather is in great shape and has no holes or tears in the upholstery. The original color and finish is bright and vibrant as a result of having been garaged. The seats hold their original shape and form. The dash has no cracks. The wood is also like new, having deep and bright color. The car was not smoked in and has no strange odors. The carpets are free from any dirt or notable stains. There only wear to mention on the interior is on the side and bolster of the driver's seat from getting in and out of the car. Mechanically, the car is in excellent condition. The engine is fast and strong, faster than you would expect. The turbo works flawlessly. The transmission shifts smoothly and as it should. The suspension and steering are as new. The car drives perfectly and is a lot of fun to drive. All interior functions work as they should. Heat is hot and A/C is cold. There are no check engine, ABS, air bag, SRS etc. lights on. I have 2 keys and 1 remote to the car. The owner's manuals are still with the car. The car was exclusively dealer serviced and the service history is also with the car. Almost all of the wear items are original on the car as you would imagine due to the low mileage. The tires are original and have plenty of tread, however, they should be changed due to age. The car will be transferred with the original title. This C70 is an extremely rare find with only 16k miles on it and being in excellent condition. It is a terrific opportunity to get a car with such little use for a fraction of the original cost. I have tried to describe the car as thoroughly and accurately as possible. If you have any further questions, would like specific photos or would like to see the car, please let me know. |

Volvo Cars' earnings top pre-pandemic levels in boost ahead of possible IPO
Fri, Jul 23 2021STOCKHOLM — Volvo Cars reported a return to profit in the first half as demand for electric cars pushed earnings above pre-pandemic levels, putting the carmaker on a firmer footing as it considers a possible IPO this year. Sweden-based Volvo, owned by China's Geely Holding, said on Friday it made a first-half profit of 13.24 billion Swedish crowns ($1.52 billion), more than double its profit of 5.52 billion crowns in the corresponding period of 2019, before the coronavirus struck. Like several other automakers Volvo has been forced to cut production due to global shortages of semiconductors, but it said a strong market recovery from last year's plunge during the pandemic helped first-half revenue rise by 26% to 141 billion crowns. "The pandemic effect, when it comes to our business, we don't see it anymore," Chief Executive Hakan Samuelsson told Reuters. "All our employees have not been vaccinated yet, but sales and production are really back to where we were." The company, which is eyeing an initial public offering before the end of this year, said all its regions showed solid growth and improved market shares, with chargeable cars representing 25% of total sales. Samuelsson said the evaluation process ahead of a potential IPO was progressing according to plan, adding the firm was still considering listing on the Stockholm stock exchange in the second half of 2021. "The company stands stronger than ever and we are in the midst of a very substantial transformation ... It has to be financed and access to the stock market is of course positive then," Samuelsson said. Volvo Cars had been heavily affected at the start of the pandemic, plunging to a 989 million loss in the first half of 2020. The company on Friday kept its second-half outlook for flat sales and revenue growth year on year, "unless supply of semiconductors improves". It said earlier this month that first-half sales rose 41% to 380,757 cars. The Gothenburg-based firm plans to become a fully electric car maker by 2030, sell 600,000 battery electric vehicles at mid-decade, and build a European battery gigafactory in 2026. Geely chairman is now the single biggest investor in Daimler
Fri, Feb 23 2018Li Shufu, the chairman and main owner of Chinese carmaker Geely, has built a stake of 9.69 percent in Daimler AG, the German carmaker said in a regulatory filing on Friday. The stake, worth nearly $9 billion at the current valuation for Daimler shares, makes Li the biggest single shareholder in the maker of Mercedes-Benz cars, trucks and vans headquartered in the German city of Stuttgart. A Daimler spokesman called the stake purchase a private investment by Li. "We are delighted, with Li Shufu, to have won over another long-term investor who is convinced of Daimler's innovative prowess, strategy and future potential," the spokesman said in response to a request for comment. "Daimler knows and respects Li Shufu as a Chinese entrepreneur of particular competence and forward thinking." Li's stake purchase makes him the top shareholder in Daimler ahead of the Kuwait Investment Authority, which owned 6.8 percent as of Sept. 30, according to Thomson Reuters data. Earlier this month, the German newspaper Bild am Sonntag reported that the Chinese industry giant was seeking to become Daimler's biggest shareholder, likely exceeding the 6.8-percent stake of the Kuwait Investment Authority. The paper said Daimler had reportedly turned down Geely's $4.5 billion offer for a 5-percent stake via a discounted share placement, saying that Geely could buy shares in the open market. Institutional investors currently own 70.7 percent of Daimler, and the company already has strong ties to Chinese automakers BAIC and BYD. Bild am Sonntag said the move was intended as a strategic alliance against Apple, Google and Amazon on autonomous and connected cars. And Reuters reported that Daimler wants to have bespoke "robo taxis" on the road quicker than Google's Waymo, and views Geely as a strong partner for that. Geely conversely is interested in Daimler's electric car battery technology, and sources quoted by the German paper say there are plans to establish joint electric car manufacturing in Wuhan, China, to meet China's smog-reducing quotas. Geely is developing the Lynk & Co. brand of electric and hybrid cars. Geely owns Volvo, which has enjoyed a renaissance under the arrangement, as well as the maker of London's black cabs. In December, it bought a stake in AB Volvo, the maker of Volvo trucks.
Polestar looking to tune Volvo CUVs
Sun, 19 Oct 2014Volvo is getting serious about emerging from the fringes and into the mainstream of the luxury automobile market. But if it's going to challenge the Germans, it's going to need a performance line. And that's just what it's developing with Polestar.
Building on the motorsport partnership that has seen Polestar represent Volvo in the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship, World Touring Car Championship and V8 Supercars series, Polestar has been charged with developing road-going performance Volvos as well. It currently offers comprehensively tuned versions of the S60 and V60, as well as engine upgrades for other models, but the latest word has it that Polestar will turn its attention next to tuning Volvo crossovers like the XC60 and the new XC90, pictured above in top-spec R-Design trim.
Details on how Volvo would modify those models remain to be determined, but it wouldn't be much of a stretch to imagine the XC60 outfitted with similar enhancements to those offered on its sedan and wagon stablemates to mount a challenge to the Audi SQ5. As for the larger XC90, it seems Volvo is already squeezing as much out of its new 2.0-liter triple-charged inline-four as it can, but more aggressive handling, aero and brakes could stand to transform the flagship crossover in pursuit of performance utes like the Mercedes ML63 AMG and BMW X5 M, even if it couldn't quite match their impressive horsepower outputs.
