Great Forest Green Volvo S70 Glt Sedan (4-door, 2.4l Engine) on 2040-cars
Alameda, California, United States
We've bought a smaller car and are ready to downsize and let this one go. It's a great car, Volvo quality, extremely reliable, will always get you there in style and safety. Comfortable, roomy, and spacious. Loaded with features, including sunroof, airbags, power locks, windows, and seats, leather upholstery, etc.
Car is in good condition and runs great. Mostly highway miles. Never been in an accident. Third owner, but we’ve known all the owners, and it’s been kept in the family. All non-smoker owners. Heat and air conditioning work great. Exterior looks good, a few small dings. One patch of paint discoloration on trunk. Also, discolored scratches on left front bumper. Interior is clean. Leather upholstery is in good condition in rear seats. Front seats have small tears. Seat cover is on driver’s seat. Well maintained and serviced. Oil change and passed smog two weeks ago. Mechanic is highly positive about the car. ABS braking system hasn’t worked for years, but he says it’s a non-issue, other than causing the “check engine” light to illuminate. Clear CarFax history. Never been in an accident. Clean title, current registration, new tags good through 04/15. Well maintained tires and battery. A great bargain at $3000. Call or email. Tony and Pamela. 415-647-8587. Volvo building new AstaZero safety proving ground in Sweden
Mon, 25 Aug 2014Volvo is an automaker committed to vehicle safety, setting an ambitious target for itself: by 2020, the Swedish automaker envisions that no one will be killed or seriously injured in one of its cars. In order to achieve that goal, Volvo has announced a new proving ground designed specifically to test safety solutions.
Called AstaZero, the new facility near the company's headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden, is the result of a $70 million investment. It will cover some 500 acres, with over 60 acres of pavement, four city blocks and three and a half miles of highway. The Active Safety Test Area (the ASTA in AstaZero) will enable Volvo and its partners (including Scania trucks as well as government bodies and university development programs) to simulate city streets, highways, rural roads, roundabouts, T-junctions and more, combining traffic from cars, pedestrians, bicycles, motorcycles, buses, trucks and even animals in order to account for all manner of potential hazards.
The facility will enable Volvo to test active safety systems and autonomous vehicle operations, and even allow robots to test its prototypes in an adaptive environment that aims to be more flexible than existing proving grounds. Read more about Volvo's commitment to safety in the press release below.
Volvo confirms V60 Sportswagon engine lineup for US
Fri, 13 Sep 2013
In addition to revamping its entire 2014 lineup, Volvo has already promised us that we'll be getting the V60 wagon early next year, but now the Swedish automaker has confirmed that sexy wagon will go on sale in January. If that's not good enough for you diehard station wagon models, there's even better news: An available R-Design model will be the "fastest and most powerful wagon in Volvo history."
The V60 R-Design will have a turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine under the hood producing 325 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque. Other engines available in the wagon will include the company's well-regarded turbo inline-five along with a new turbo inline-four wearing the Drive-E name. Volvo says Drive-E can "offer the opportunity" to add electrification, but there's no word as to whether or not the US will receive a V60 plug-in model. Also not yet released are fuel economy, vehicle specs and pricing. More information about the V60 and its powertrains are available in the official press release posted below.
Volvo working on ultra-lux four-seat XC90 for China?
Tue, 09 Sep 2014In China, it's all about being driven. That's why we've seen so many automakers stretch their most popular models to appeal to buyers in the Chinese market. Volvo is certainly no stranger to this, and according to Autocar, the company is already working on a super-lux, four-seat version of its recently launched XC90 crossover.
Volvo won't stretch the XC90 and just increase second-row legroom, however. Instead, the company will reportedly remove both the standard XC90's second and third row benches, and install a duplicate set of front seats in the rear compartment, featuring the same electric adjustment features, including massage. These more luxurious thrones will be placed further back in the vehicle, allowing for "exceptional" legroom, Autocar reports, without needing to stretch the wheelbase.
Mum's the word on when we can expect to see the high-zoot Volvo arrive, though the magazine estimates that it surface later this year.
