No Reserve

2010 Volvo V50 2.4i

This is a great car; but I found one I can’t keep it!!

This is a No Reserve auction and if you feel I haven’t described the car fairly when you come to pick it up, you can say so and I’ll refund your deposit.

Up for auction is a 2010 Volvo V50 Wagon.  No damage history, clean car fax. I’m the third(ish) Owner.  The previous owner was the second owner.  He then transferred the title to his daughter before her family out grew it earlier this year.  I truly like this car and had planned on driving it for the next few years but after owning it only a few months I had the opportunity to buy a car I’ve always wanted. So even though I’d only owned this a few months, it’s time for it to go.  I just can’t keep this car too.

There wasn’t much that needed attention when I purchased the car.  As always, I took it to my mechanic and had him go through it and address anything that seemed amiss.

The following was done.

·       New front tires

·       Oil change

·       Blow out all drain lines (there had been a leak into passenger foot well that the previous owner told me about)

·       Scope out fuel filler and replace neck (Filling up the car was a pain and it would auto shutoff before the tank was full.  The new filler alleviated this but it still clicks off unless held at the proper angle.  Very odd, but the tech tells me everything is “new, clean and in working order”)

Features include

·       Front  Wheel Drive

·       AC (Air Conditioning) Works Great

·       Power Remote Door Locks

·       Power Windows

·       Power Drivers Seat

·       ABS (Anti Lock Brakes)

·       SIPS (Side Impact Protection System) Air bags all around

·       Cruise Control

·       Power Windows

·       CD

·       iPod/iPhone USB connection

·       BlueTooth phone connectivity

·       Rear cargo cover

·       Rear dog/package barrier

·       Weather Tec floor mats

Mileage is 86,1xx

VIN# YV1390MW9A2533014

Clear Title.

There is a single section of the grill that is missing (see photo)

Other than that, the car has no major blemishes.  There is a slight door scrape on the passenger side (see photo) but believe this can be buffed out).  The car looks very good with less than average wear in my opinion.

The interior is all leather and very nice.  There are no seam splits or tears (see photo).

This is a NO RESERVE auction.  It will be sold to the highest bidder unless it is purchased locally.

AFTER YOU WIN, YOU CAN INSPECT THE CAR AND THEN DECIDE IF YOU WANT TO COMPLETE THE PURCHASE. See below for full details.

Please feel free to email any questions and I’ll get right back to you.

Here are the Terms of Sale:

This car is located in Southbury, CT (about 30 miles from Hartford, 15 miles from Danbury), and is being sold without warranty.

$250 is due within 48 hours of successful bid by wire transfer, cashier’s check or PayPal. The balance is due within 7 days of successful bid by wire or cashier’s check prior to pick up or shipment  unless otherwise arranged – buyer is responsible for any sales tax payment or shipping costs.

The successful bidder is welcome to have the car inspected any time prior to final payment &/or pick-up. Let me say that again, if you bid on this car and then find something wrong that you feel I didn’t disclose in this description and you don’t want the car, I’ll return your deposit.  If you win and then come out and say you don’t like the color, I’ll refund your deposit minus the relisting fee if you cancel the transaction with eBay.

You or your mechanic can come to conduct the inspection, or local mechanics are also available for hire. After your inspection should you decide against the purchase your deposit will be refunded 100% and the car will be returned to the market.  If you do not have an inspection or at least come out and look at the car and don’t purchase, the deposit is forfeited.

Be aware this is a great car but it is 5 years old and is used, so expect it to not be new.

It’s USED, but it’s a GREAT used car.

Shipping is the purchaser’s responsibility, though I will help coordinate.  Car must be paid for in full before it is shipped.  If you choose shipping, you own the car before it goes.

The auction determines the price, the inspection determines if it fits your needs. If you have any questions prior to bidding contact me via the “contact seller” option.

This item is subject to prior sale, so bid early!! Your bid is a contract and I’ll follow eBay’s procedures for non-paying bidders. Please make sure you have your financing and insurance in place before you bid.

Thank you for your interest!

Lincoln Aviator vs Cadillac XT6 | How they compare on paper

Thu, Sep 5 2019

There have been big, three-row family crossovers for quite a while now, but until recently the luxury market hasn't fully embraced them. Sure, you could literally get one with a third row, but unless you were a kid, chances are the term "dungeon-like" was going to be tossed around. Things are changing now, however, as new and redesigned entries are starting to hit the market. We've recently had a chance to get our first drives of the 2020 Lincoln Aviator and 2020 Cadillac XT6, two all-new three-row crossovers from American luxury brands. We also got a turn behind the wheel of the updated 2020 Volvo XC90. However, since none of our editors have yet to drive to drive them all, we wanted to see how they compare on paper, examining their engine specs and interior dimensions. We also included the 2020 Acura MDX, the original three-row luxury crossover, which continues to sell well despite approaching the end of its current generation. That it offers a hybrid model makes it that much more applicable given the Aviator and XC90 also offer gasoline-electric powertrains, albeit of the plug-in variety. 3 Row Luxury Crossovers Powertrains View 1 Photos Non-hybrid MDX has a 5,000-pound max tow rating. How do their performance and fuel economy compare? This one is absolutely no contest. The 400-horsepower Lincoln blows away its competitors despite having a price tag that's similar to the 310-horsepower Cadillac and in between the XC90's T5 and T6 models. At least the Acura is considerably cheaper. Besides the eye-popping output, the estimated 0-60-mph time of 5.5 seconds (gleaned from the mechanically similar Ford Explorer ST) is appreciably quicker than the others. Now, fuel economy is a bit lower, but the efficiency of Volvo's four-cylinder engines are likely more susceptible to varying due to driver differences. It should also be noted that the Cadillac gets the same combined fuel economy estimate as the Aviator despite having 90 fewer horses and 144 fewer pound-feet of torque. Just one of the ways where the XT6's prospects dim in the presence of its cross-Michigan rival. The Cadillac is also not available as a hybrid model. The others are, but are disparate. The Lincoln Aviator Grand Touring and Volvo XC90 T8 are similar in concept: range-topping models that are as much about adding performance as they are fuel economy. Their hefty price tags certainly reflect that as well.

Sunday Drive: And now for something completely different

Sun, Dec 17 2017

This past week played host to a wide assortment of automotive news, highlighted by our first drive of the 2018 Volvo XC40. The Swedish crossover is targeted at young, successful Millennials, but it offers cool styling, fun dynamics, and all of today's must-have technology, so we think it ought to appeal to a much wider swath of the automotive marketplace. From there we answer the question, "What are hard on the outside and soft on the inside?" as we take a look at the next Mercedes-Benz G-Class SUV. We expect the German automaker's flagship luxury SUV to remain boxy on the outside, but the interior is going to be soft, supple, and luxurious. And then there's the Honda Clarity Plug-in Hybrid, which starts at starts at $34,290 and boasts 212 total system horsepower, 232 pound-feet of torque, 47 miles of electric driving range, and a total range of 340 miles. EPA rates it at 110 MPGe in EV mode, and 44 city/40 highway/42 combined overall. We compare it to other plug-ins like the Chevy Volt and Toyota Prius Prime. And finally we have some more spy photos of the 2019 Ram 1500. It doesn't have a traditional crosshair grille, but it's got plenty of chrome and an attractive upright stance that's sure to tempt future truck buyers looking for some sophistication to go with their work gloves. As always, stay tuned to Autoblog this week to see all the automotive news that's fit to print. 2018 Volvo XC40 First Drive Review | The Masspirational crossover Mercedes-Benz G-Class gets the luxe, high-tech treatment 2018 Honda Clarity Plug-In Hybrid Review | It's what's on the inside that counts 2019 Ram 1500 shows chrome grille and more production parts Green Honda Mercedes-Benz RAM Volvo Technology Truck Crossover SUV Luxury Performance Sedan volvo xc40 sunday drive

Future Classic: 2008-2013 Volvo C30

Thu, Apr 27 2023

Volvo has a storied reputation of building cars that are safe and solid – vehicles that are as cherished for their function-over-form designs as they are their mechanical longevity. But Volvo is also low-key cool. The Swedish carmaker is beloved by enthusiasts for its commitment to offering wagons, and for its many motorsports efforts. Flying brick, anyone? That coolness doesnÂ’t always trickle down to VolvoÂ’s road cars, but every now and then, the company gives us something a little weird. And in the mid-2000s, Volvo introduced the C30: a two-door hatchback geared towards younger, hipper buyers. Was the C30 a luxury compact? A hot hatch? Nah, it didnÂ’t really fit either vibe. Still, the C30 was nevertheless cute and quirky, and compared to other Volvos of the era, it was truly one of a kind. Why is the Volvo C30 a future classic? The C30 rode on the same platform as the S40 sedan and V50 wagon (as well as the contemporary Mazda 3 and EuropeÂ’s second-generation Ford Focus), but had way more personality than both. VolvoÂ’s hallmark tall taillights flanked a huge piece of glass that extended from the roofline to the bumper, serving as the C30Â’s hatch. Of course, this expansive window also meant the items in the cargo area were readily on display, making them an easy target for smash-and-grab thefts. A range of powertrains were available around the world, including diesel engines and even a super-limited-production electric variant. In the U.S., however, we only got the T5 gas engine, which in its standard form produced a 2.5-liter turbocharged inline-5 with 227 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque (more on the not-so-standard form later). You could get a six-speed manual transmission, which wasnÂ’t a terribly engaging gearbox, but was still more fun than the five-speed automatic. With the C30, Volvo put an emphasis on the hatchbackÂ’s ability to pump up the jams. An optional Premium Sound package had 10 Dynaudio speakers, an Alpine subwoofer and Dolby Pro Logic II surround. This setup could even play CDs with MP3 and WMA files, and included an AUX jack for things like iPods. Archaic technology by today's standards, but in the 2000s, this was clutch. 2013 Volvo C30 R-Design Polestar Limited Edition View 12 Photos What is the ideal example of the Volvo C30? One word: Polestar. In 2012, Volvo introduced a limited-edition C30 Polestar, only 250 of which were sold in the United States.
