You are bidding on my 1988 Volvo 740 Wagon. This car was my daily driver until i came across a vintage muscle car that i couldn't refuse. This has been a great car that I originally planned on keeping it for many years and because of this i put a ton of time and money into it. This car is basically new - it still needs a few things but as you will see from the following list it almost done.
The Good:
The car was undercoated from the factory so it has almost no rust on the under side or on the body.
New fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel injectors, spark plugs
New Mass air sensor, throttle control valve, intake gasket, air filter, cleaned throttle body & intake
New Brakes - Front & Rear rotors, & pads. Front Calipers & lines.
New Tires - less than 5000 miles on them
New power steering rack, tie rod ends, sway bar links
New headlights
Changed oil, trans fluid, added trans cooler
Custom Headliner & door inserts
Pioneer CD Player with remote & Kenwood speakers
Two way sunroof - Flips up or slides open
Heated seats - (i cant tell if they work or not but the button lights up and you can hear the relay click under the seat)
Has room for the optional rear facing third row seat (has the seat belts too) but the seat is not there
One of the safest cars on the road - Volvo's are know for their build quality
Added bonus - they make engine swap kits so you can drop a 5.0 V8 or LS1 engine into it and make the ultimate sleeper
The not so good:
first - the car has a slight hesitation between 2500 & 3000 rpm. I think it may be the timing belt - they are $62.00 for the belt & tensioner at NAPA. I beleive a second symptom of this is it takes a minute to warm up in the morning before you take off. The check engine light comes on for about 2 minutes then shuts off. a Volvo dealer can read the codes but i never got that far. I still drove the car everyday all over the place with these issues so they are not that serious but i was always improving the car.
Needs paint - the hood is in black primer and the roof is peeling (it was parked under a tree or something)
Has a few light dents and scratches - again paint and light body work
The corner lights are broken & the plastic front bumper has a slight dent/scratch.
Missing one hubcap - i bought a replacement on Ebay but it was a 15" and this car has 14" rims
Could use shocks & springs (the top mounts rattle) but it doesn't have to be done right away - rides just fine the way it is
Overall the car runs good enough to drive daily and could run like new with minimal work. Again I put a ton of money and time into this and never really planned to sell it but i don't need two cars.
Car is sold AS IS and i reserve the right to end the auction early as it is for sale locally as well. Thanks for looking and please let me know if you have any questions.

Volvo will reportedly dive into the minivan segment in 2023
Wed, Jan 18 2023Volvo will expand its range by entering the minivan segment for the first time, according to a recent report. The automaker is allegedly plotting an electric people-mover that will be built and sold in China and that will share numerous parts beneath the sheetmetal with an existing model. The yet-unnamed minivan appeared on a slide shown during a presentation made by Volvo's Chinese division, according to CarNewsChina. It's one of four new models due out in 2023; the others are the EX90, the EX90 Excellence, and a small SUV that may wear the EX30 name. Volvo hasn't confirmed plans to wade into the minivan segment, let alone published details about the model, but CarNewsChina speculates that the enigmatic family-hauler will land as a brand-specific version of the Zeekr 009 (pictured). Don't worry if that doesn't ring a bell: Zeekr was founded in 2021 and it mainly sells cars in China. It's part of Geely, however, so it's one of Volvo's sister companies. Designers will give Volvo's first minivan Swedish flair inside and out in a bid to differentiate it from the 009, but the Geely-designed SEA architecture and the electric powertrain shouldn't change significantly. That means the model will land with a 544-horsepower dual-motor all-wheel-drive system. It will be fitted with a massive, 140-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack said to unlock over 500 miles of driving range. Volvo will present the van as a close-to-production concept in the third quarter of 2023, and the production model will go on sale in China before the end of the year, according to the report. It's too early to tell whether Volvo will export the van to other markets; the company hasn't commented on the rumor. Don't expect it to come cheap: Zeekr charges 499,000 yuan (around $74,000) for the entry-level 009.
Honda, Volvo, Lincoln are North American Car, Utility and Truck of the Year
Mon, Jan 15 2018The Detroit Auto Show has officially kicked off, as it always does, with the announcement of the North American Car, Utility Vehicle and Truck of the Year winners. For 2018, those are the Honda Accord, Volvo XC60 and Lincoln Navigator, respectively. The Honda Accord beat out two other finalists, the Toyota Camry and the new Kia Stinger. The Accord stood out for its styling, drivability and standard equipment. The Volvo XC60 came out ahead of the Alfa Romeo Stelvio and Honda Odyssey minivan. It was chosen for its luxury, ride and value when equipped well. The Lincoln Navigator, a heavily updated model that remained true to the concept car on which it was based, beat the Ford Expedition, as well as the only pickup in the list, the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 (which was a finalist for Autoblog's own Technology of the Year Award). NACTOY juror Ron Sessions complimented the "more dramatic update" compared to the Expedition. "With its design now aligned with the Continental, the Navigator becomes an even more important image — and the profit-maker for Lincoln," he said. The NACTOY Awards have been around since 1994. A panel of 60 judges, all automotive journalists, whittle the list down to three finalists in each category before announcing the winners in January. The Utility Vehicle category was added for 2017. 2020 Volvo S60 T8 Long-Term Review Wrap-Up | Final verdict
Wed, Mar 17 2021Twelve months of motoring in the 2020 Volvo S60 T8 went by quickly. Our time in Volvo’s sharp, plug-in hybrid sedan is over, and itÂ’s time for a final verdict. The S60 saw two entirely different worlds in its time with us. We took delivery in normal days — you know, pre-global pandemic — but most of its tenure here was in a Covid-19 world. That being the case, it didnÂ’t get out and travel the country as much as our long-term test vehicles normally do. Prior to getting locked down, our S60 took trips to Chicago, Buffalo, the northern reaches of Michigan and elsewhere in the region. Even once its extended driveway sessions began, we snuck it away once to the East Coast for a quick back-and-forth summer trip. We limited our car swaps to once a month in an effort to stay away from each other on staff and keep each other safe. That meant that each of us got to spend longer stints than usual in the driverÂ’s seat — our normal routine wouldnÂ’t have encouraged this behavior pre-coronavirus. It was more like a true ownership experience, which is exactly what we aim to convey with long-term tests. We plugged it in every night, utilized the Volvo smartphone app to track it and integrated the car more fully into our lives. The odometer reading sat at 16,866 miles in the end. A great number of those miles were done under electric power, thanks to the carÂ’s 22-mile electric range when fully charged — our range testing saw it meet or exceed that figure if driven with a light foot. And since the car was sitting at home so often, it was working with a full charge in most circumstances. Long highway trips saw us match the carÂ’s combined mpg rating of 30 mpg. Most fill-ups would return a much higher effective mpg number, though, as all the electric motoring helps it along. Folks with shorter commutes should take notice, as S60 T8 ownership will greatly reduce the number of necessary fuel stops. Due to the VolvoÂ’s long 10,000-mile maintenance gaps, it only needed to make one regular dealer stop in our time. Besides that, there were two other trips to the dealer. We had recall work done — there was an issue with the automatic emergency braking system — before the first regular service. And a sunroof snafu was the carÂ’s second and last unscheduled trip to the shop. Read on below for all of our final impressions on the 2020 Volvo S60 T8. 2020 Volvo S60 T8 View 15 Photos Road Test Editor Zac Palmer: The S60 T8 is a slightly sporty sedan, but itÂ’s no sports sedan.
