1973 VOLKSWAGEN THING. IT IS IN EXCELLENT RUNNING AND DRIVING CONDITION. SINCE I HAVE OWNED IT I HAVE REPLACED THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER REAR FLOOR PANS, GIVEN IT A TUNE UP AND OIL CHANGE, INSTALLED A BRAND NEW SET OF TIRES, NEW CRANK PULLEY AND BELT, INSTALLED A NEW MUFFLER AND TIPS, REPLACED THE WINDSHIELD GLASS AND SEALS (AROUND THE GLASS AND WHERE THE TOP SITS WHEN IT IS ON), REPAINTED THE BUMPERS AND THE BODY. I HAVE THE TOP OFF OF THE CAR BECAUSE I KEEP IT IN THE GARAGE AT ALL TIMES AND ONLY DRIVE IT IN THE SUMMER, BUT IT IS IN GOOD SHAPE AND DOESN'T HAVE ANY RIPS OR TEARS IN IT. THE FRONT SEATS DO NEED FRESHENED UP, BUT ARE MANAGEABLE TO SIT ON. IT IS A VERY FUN CAR TO DRIVE AROUND TOWN (GETS PEOPLE TO TURN THEIR HEADS AND ASK JUST EXACTLY WHAT IT IS). IT DOES HAVE THE ORIGINAL FACTORY SPARE AND THE TOW BAR THAT COMES WITH IT (REFER TO PICTURES). ALSO IT DOES HAVE THE FACTORY GAS IGNITION HEATER INT THE FRONT (THOUGH I HAVE NEVER TRIED IT I DON'T DRIVE IT WHEN IT IS COLD OUT). I AM READY TO START A NEW PROJECT AND DON'T HAVE THE SPACE FOR IT IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS YOU CAN CALL TIM AT 563-528-0388.

Volkswagen adding R-Line trim to Touareg, Tiguan for 2014
Fri, 11 Jan 2013Volkswagen introduced its aggressive R-Line appearance package on the CC and Beetle last year, but later this year, this treatment will also be applied to VW's crossovers, the Tiguan and Touareg. Both sporty-looking utility vehicles will be unveiled next week at the Detroit Auto Show.
The 2014 Tiguan R-Line comes standard with bi-xenon headlights and LED daytime running lights, and the package adds 19-inch wheels, grey fender extensions, body-color side skirts and a liftgate spoiler. Inside, the R-Line adds a flat-bottom sport steering wheel with paddle shifters, a black headliner and numerous metallic trim accents such as the stainless scuff plates, the aluminum pedals and metallic finish on the instrument and door panels. The Tiguan R-Line will be offered in front- and all-wheel drive configurations.
As for the 2014 Touareg R-Line (shown above), this model gets an ever more distinctive look with an aggressive front fascia, 20-inch wheels and dual oval-shaped exhaust outlets in addition to the painted side skirts and LED taillights. Similar metallic interior trim pieces found inside the Tiguan R-Line will also make their way into the Touareg as well as gloss black accents on the instrument panel and center stack.
2015 VW Golf R caught getting a flogging on 'Ring
Wed, 22 May 2013The upcoming version of the Volkswagen Golf R is nearly ready for prime time, if this video of the car flying around the Nürburgring is any indication. The all-wheel-drive R seems to make quick, neat work of the corners we see here, and sounds pretty devilish in the process.
Expectations are that the new Golf R will run a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder (what else?), tuned to produce even more than the current car's 256 horsepower. (Some sources have indicated outputs as high as 286 horsepower, with 280 pound-feet of torque. It's still not clear if Volkswagen will bring the six-speed dual-clutch transmission to the US-spec Golf R in this next go-round or if we'll stick to having only... eh... the stick.
In either case - watching the video below will only whet your appetite for the new, highest performing member of the Golf family.
Volkswagen Golf R 400 Concept is a 201-mph hot hatch
Sun, 20 Apr 2014This, friends, is what happens when you shoehorn 395 horsepower into a Golf. You get a three-door hatch that will happily scurry to 62 miles per hour in 3.9 seconds and on to a top speed of 201 mph. Oh yes, we like you, Golf R 400 Concept.
As we explained in our original post, the R 400 is the long-awaited successor to bonkers Golf creations like the GTI W12 from 2007 and, more recently, the Design Vision GTI. It's powered by the same 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder found in a number of Volkswagen (and Audi, SEAT and Skoda) products, although it's been heavily massaged to pump out 332 pound-feet of torque along side its amplified horsepower.
Naturally, it's been lowered and now rides on 19-inch wheels. Outside of those changes, though, mums the word on suspension and chassis enhancements. While this is a bummer, the striking looks of the Golf R 400 more than make up for it.
