1982 Vw Rabbit "caddy" Pick Up Truck on 2040-cars

This truck is so cool I really don’t know where to start.
The truck came from Arizona. There is no rust on it. It was owned by a Dr. that
put about $12,000 into it, motor, injector pump, shafts, etc. My daughter saw
it and “had to have it” so we brought it to NJ and started to finish what the
doctor started. Since I’ve owned it the following has been done: New seals
around windows, windshield etc, new windshield, lots of interior items, new
professional paint job, new brakes, new shift linkage, new tires, new bed liner
and several other items. The original cap is also included. It has a turbocharged 1.6 diesel, a 5 speed stick, and
gets ridiculous gas mileage. This truck has been driven daily until my daughter
went away to college. At that point I drove it for a while and now it’s time to
let someone else enjoy it. It runs excellent, handles beautifully and has been
very reliable. It is a real head
turner. This truck literally gets more compliments than my Porsche 968 Cabrio,
which is really a nice car too. In fairness, I think this truck is spectacular
in a lot of ways but I do not want to over sell it either. The truck is not perfect;
it is a “driver”. The radio does not work, there are a few gauges not hooked up
– a couple things like that. The title has an "S" on it, indicating "Salvage"; I do not know why. Pick up Toms River NJ or contact me for possible delivery |

VW will reportedly offer cash to cheated diesel car drivers
Sun, Nov 8 2015If you're feeling burned by Volkswagen's decision to cheat on diesel emissions tests, you might get some compensation for your troubles. Sources for The Truth About Cars understand that VW will launch a "TDI Goodwill Program" that compensates diesel car drivers with cash in the form of prepaid cards. In the US, you'd get both a $500 universal card as well as a VW-only card worth $500 to $750. The automaker isn't confirming details just yet, but it tells the New York Times that it's planning an announcement on Monday. Dealers also tell the newspaper that they're aware of a program in the works, although they don't know the specifics. It may not include the expanded range of cars reportedly tainted by the scandal, though, since VW is denying claims that it cheated with some models. This isn't the only olive branch VW has been offering: it's been handing out deals to existing owners willing to hop into new vehicles, and there are more discounts than usual across the board. However, the goodwill effort would represent the first instance of VW directly compensating drivers who'd previously thought they were getting an eco-friendly machine. This isn't going to make up for years of unnecessary pollution, but it may represent the company's best hope of holding on to customers. Volkswagen CrossBlue Coupe is a green fun-machine we want to drive
Fri, 19 Apr 2013Think back to January's Detroit Auto Show. Those of you that are fans of the Volkswagen brand, impressed with green technology or simply fall into the "diesel geek" category, will almost certainly remember VW's CrossBlue concept with its diesel/electric hybrid powertrain, seating for seven, and somewhat awkward crossover styling. It was an impressive piece of future tech, to be sure, though it left something to be desired in the, well, desirability department.
Here in Shanghai, VW has brought along a CrossBlue Coupe concept that would seem to include most of the goodness of the original, but flavored with more sport and style this time around.
The CrossBlue Coupe makes use of the same electric drive components as the larger three-row concept: two electric motors (front and rear) powered by a 9.8-kWh lithium-ion battery. However, where the original concept made use of a TDI four-cylinder, the Coupe substitutes a 295-horsepower, direct-injection, gasoline-burning V6.
