This R32 is in excellent condition. I have always kept the vehicle garaged since I purchased in Nov. 2007 in Germany. Thats why the carfax info is a little off on the owner dates. I don't smoke and the previous owner did not as well. Don't know about the first owner. I am an avid maintainer and belive in preventive maintenance. The only thing you cann't see from the pictures are those little paint chips from driving the highway and I try to touch those up every summer. The other difference is I have a black front badge instead of the chrome one that is pictured. There is absolutly no mechanical problems. I do all maintenance and modifications myself. I am a certified auto mechanic. Changes are as follows with dates and mileage (some are estimated)...

I also have an extensive record of maintance reciepts with dates and mileage for normal maintance as well. I can tell you that all fluids are VW synthetic or off the shelf sythetic (such as motor oil). And I only use VW filters and parts even down to windshield wipers. I also have different headlights and I believe 12K HID light kit. Euro light switch. I also put Stage 2 motor/transmission mounts in. The cargo net is VW and the sunshade and "emergency kit" is included. I have kept all parts removed from the car for mods except the rear exhaust and headlights. Currently not installed are fog light side grilles and the Milteck high flow cats. You will also get the two extra sets of wheels and tires as follows...
Stock O.Z. (18x7.5) with Bridgestone Potenza 760S w/ 240 miles. O.Z. Ultralegra (18x8)(Charcoal) with Conti CT3 DW w/ 12,478 miles. CMS C6 Wolfsburg Edition (17x7.5) with Conti winters w/ 6,480 miles. The CMS rims use MTM 10mm hubcentric spacers with longer wheel bolts. There is ZERO damage on the two sets of aftermarket wheels. There is very minor rash on the stock rims from previous owner.
Yes, I have a full winter set of tires and have a heating pad on the engine and transmission oil pan for pre-heating. NO I have never drivin the car in the winter in Alaska. I did drive in the snow while in Germany though as you see by the mileage on the winter tires. And when driven in the winter I did an underbody wash once a week to remove salt to prevent corrosion. I think the pictures prove my point. I also removed the rear VW emblem and a small Nordschleife sticker is its replacement. In Europe its a sign that you have tested yourself in your car on the track. I will say the R32 is an awesome racecar. Moving on, I have ran my own carfax report and will try and post it. It shows that the original owner rearended someone in 2005. It was fixed without incedent.

Volkswagen profit jumps as it warns of a cooling auto market
Wed, Oct 30 2019FRANKFURT, Germany — Volkswagen says its profits jumped 44% in the third quarter thanks to a more profitable mix of vehicles in its lineup but warned that global car markets are slowing more than expected and lowered its forecast for annual sales. After-tax profit rose to $4.42 billion (3.98 billion euros) as revenues rose 11% to $68.27 billion (61.42 billion euros). The sales margin of 7.8% exceeded the goal of 6.5-7.5% as vehicles bringing higher profits took a larger share of sales. The Wolfsburg-based automaker pointed to the headwinds facing the industry by saying that it expects "vehicle markets will contract faster than previously anticipated in many regions of the world." It said sales would be "on a level" with last year's record of 10.8 million vehicles. Previously it had expected a slight increase. The company said its profits would be in the lower end of its forecast range. Global automakers are facing a slowdown in sales amid disputes over trade and from pressure in the European Union and China to develop and sell low-emission vehicles that require heavy investment in new technology. Ford and Renault have issued profit warnings in recent days, while Daimler, maker of Mercedes-Benz luxury cars, lost money in the second quarter and is expected to outline a cost-cutting strategy for investors on Nov. 14. Volkswagen is leading the push into electric vehicles in Europe by launching its ID.3 battery-powered compact car at prices it says will make zero local emission vehicles a mass phenomenon. The company was able to increase earnings in the quarter despite an 18% rise in spending on research and development.
VW Up Buggy may be headed to showrooms
Tue, 02 Jul 2013Volkswagen showed six conceptual takes on its Up at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, one of those being the Up Buggy. Although few will probably remember it, VW has not forgotten it, applying for a patent for the Meyers Manx revival roadster way back in March 2012 and being approved in June of this year, according to a report in Autocar. That will give the automaker a 14-year lock on the design while it decides whether to move forward with a reboot of its past.
A patent doesn't mean the Up Buggy will ever move beyond the sheet-of-paper stage, but Autocar says VW is studying the market to see if a production version is feasible. We can't see North America ever getting it, but even so, we wouldn't complain if they made it - especially if they put an exposed engine in back that was set off by 18-inch-long twin tailpipes jutting straight up into the air. However, for a company that aims to be the world's number-one automaker by 2018, a niche vehicle for its mass-market brand would be a surprising use of resources.

And lest we forget in the case of General Motors, it was a Mississippi mechanic and Florida engineer who first made connections between non-deploying airbags and faulty GM ignition switches that had been altered over time. They worked on behalf of Brooke Melton, a 29-year-old Georgia woman killed in a Chevy Cobalt. "That argument is built on a whole string of trusts, and now it is clear that we should absolutely not be trusting." - Kyle Wiens Amid the Volkswagen scandal, the role these independent third parties played in unearthing life-threatening problems is important to highlight, not only because it shines a light on the ethical indifference corporations paid to life-and-death problems of their creation. Since May, a little-known but critically important process has been playing out before an office within the Library of Congress, which will soon decide whether independent researchers and mechanics can continue to access vehicle software or whether that software, which runs dozens of vehicle components, is protected by copyright law. The Digital Millennium Copyright Act criminalizes measures taken to circumvent security devices that protect copyrighted works. When the DMCA was signed into law in 1998, it was intended to protect the likes of movies from being pirated and companies from ripping off software. At the time, few had a clue that some 17 years later cars would essentially be mobile software platforms run by millions of lines of code that potentially fall under the law's jurisdiction.
