All the many options are extensive & can be seen in other listings. All the new electronic aids (now popular on new hi-end cars include front & rear radar distance warning, heated and cooled seats, lumbar massagers on ALL front and rear seats, Navigation, On-Star,and trip computers and many others. The key features are the 335hp V-8 engine& chassis used on the Bentley Silver Spur and Audi upper end sedans and sport cars, 6 speed auto transmission, sun roof and FULL TIME ALL WHEEL DRIVE.
NOTE This car comes with a transferable CARCHEX 24 MONTH 24K PLATINUM WARRANTY that is the highest level warranty CARCHEX provides & covers most if not all mechanical & electronic systems (typical bumper to bumper) excluding wear and tear items. This is highly unusual for any car and speaks to the confidence CARCHEX has on this vehicle. CAR & DRIVER recently noted this 2005 car is an exceptional value and hi end vehicle, priced at $20,000 when compared to current cars in the same price range you get Bentley quality driving at a Hyundai price. If, you could get this warranty it would be invaluable that any major repairs ( $100. deductible) that may occur would be covered, the mental peace of mind is such a purchase with the warranty in place is a great and valuable feature.. Included is the official "ELSA" VW detailed repair and service DVD with full schematics, and parts lists and detailed descriptions used by VW. Also original window sticker & marketing and sales CD & brochures, this data alone is unusual to be available back to its availability in 2005. But dont worry, the car is reliable and sold and can be serviced and repaired, if necessary by most VW dealers. I bought this car off a VW dealer used by their marketing officer and has been fully dealer serviced throughout and I still have all the service records to back this up. |

2014 Volkswagen Golf GTD is our favorite oil-burning GTI
Tue, 05 Mar 2013
The 2014 Volkswagen Golf GTD has officially bowed at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. Engineers managed to squeeze an additional 14 horsepower and 22 pound-feet of torque out of the familiar 2.0-liter turbodiesel four-cylinder engine, nudging total output to 184 hp and 280 lb-ft for 2014. The figures are good enough to earn the GTD the honor of being the most powerful diesel Golf in Volkswagen history. A start/stop system helps improve efficiency over the previous generation with the new model consuming 56 miles per gallon on the EU cycle. That's up from the 2013 model's 46 mpg. A six-speed manual transmission is standard equipment, though a six-speed dual-clutch gearbox is also available.
The GTD also offers buyers a few aesthetic tweaks to help separate the hatch from its less potent siblings. Those include a more aggressive front fascia, special badges and 17-inch alloy wheels. Expect to find the GTD in one of three exterior colors, including Tornado Red, Black and Pure White. Check out the quick press release below for more details.
VW Chattanooga plant very close to UAW representation
Tue, 11 Nov 2014After months of fighting from both sides, it looks like the Volkswagen factory in Chattanooga, TN, might unionize under the United Auto Workers after all. According to a letter acquired by The Associated Press, VW and the UAW reportedly struck a deal last spring where the union agreed to stop its challenge of the organization vote with the National Labor Relations Board to help clear the way for the CrossBlue to be produced in Tennessee. In exchange, the automaker would recognize the UAW at the plant. Leaders of the Local 42 at the facility reportedly signed the letter.
It seems that such an agreement would clear the way for the factory to unionize after months of dispute. According to The Detroit News, under Tennessee law, workers aren't required to join the organization. Although, that might not be a problem. As of a few months ago, Local 42 already claimed to have signed around 700 of the plant's roughly 1,500 workers.
Controversy has constantly swirled around the possible unionization at the Chattanooga plant. The UAW held its official decision in February and lost 712 to 626. However, there were allegations of intense political pressure to make sure the ballot failed. A later report also found that VW was offered $300 million in incentives well before the vote to make sure things progressed to the "satisfaction of the State of Tennessee," but the deal was later retracted. In July, the UAW opened Local 42 on the campus in hopes of signing up a majority of the workforce by volunteering to be a part of it.
Piech and Winterkorn still at odds about VW leadership plan
Wed, Apr 15 2015Volkswagen Group Chairman Ferdinand Piech (above, right) and CEO Martin Winterkorn (above, left) will be meeting in the coming days to discuss who the next leader of the Volkswagen Group will be. This, of course, comes after a report last Friday in Der Spiegel where Piech said he didn't want Winterkorn to be the automaker's next chairman. Oh, to be a fly on the wall of that conference room. As Automotive News reports, Winterkorn had been widely viewed as the probable replacement for the 77-year-old Piech, until last week, when the current chairman said he was keeping the CEO "at a distance," in the German paper. While Winterkorn confirmed to German media on Monday that he still had a job, analysts aren't sure what Piech's comments will mean for the 67-year-old CEO's future, with some indicating he may end up being a "lame duck" leader. According to AN, Piech doesn't think that Winterkorn has the vision to lead the sprawling Volkswagen Group empire, even though the current CEO has the support of a number of other VAG stakeholders. "Piech knows what he is doing and will assume that he can get the supervisory board to implement his decisions," former BMW executive turned analyst Helmut Becker told German media, AN reports. Winterkorn has just over 18 months left on his contract, while Piech's term has another two years left on it, meaning it will still be some time before we find out how the Volkswagen Group's leadership issues play out.
