For sale is a 2005 Passat GLS TDI wagon. It is being sold with no reserve to the highest bidder. I am a licensed and bonded car dealer in the state of Louisiana.  I bought this car at auction because it was so clean and I personally have a Jetta TDI as a daily driver. I have owned many and love the VW TDI's. This is a one owner car with no accidents according to Instavin  and has a clean and clear title. My wife and I were inspecting the car after purchasing it. We were remarking on how it was like new and we stumbled across a typed list of the recent services. It was put in the car by the previous owner. My wife said due to the condition and the meticulous condition of the car and the list she thought this must be a older person that owned the car. The next day, I was checking on the matainance history with the VW dealer and i found the registration, so I Googled the owner. It turns out he is 64 and lives near me. I called my wife and told here she was right and we got a chuckle out of it. I said all that to say, "this car was maintained perfectly." The oil changes were done on schedule and with the proper 505.01 approved oil which is very important. The tires have 16k on them they are about 65 or 70 percent. The front breaks are new and the rears are 80%. The car comes with a VW bra and the original floor mats which were never used. The carpets don't have a single stain on them. I would go so far as to say they never once had a shoe on them without a floor mat. The mats that were used were the bad boy rubber Passat mats. The car was never smoked in and still smells new. The seats are like new with no wear or stains. This car has the cold weather package with heated seats and mirrors. The AC is ice cold and everything works. It has a sunroof that functions properly. The car runs and drive great. I took the car to the local VW guru that maintains my cars so he could check to see if the timing belt had been done. The belt was a VW belt and there were marks on the bolts for the upper pully and the tensioner so it appears that the belt and water pump were replaced... but I can't say for sure. The exterior of the car is in great shape. The only flaws with the car were one tiny ding on the hood but wouldn't show on a picture (this could easyly be taken out for 50 bucks by a paintless dent guy), and on the rear lift gate it looks like something bumped it from the inside and put a ding on it. That one is pictured. Last there are some light scuffs on the driver and passanger inner door handles this seems to be a VW thing all the cars i have owned have had this. The oil is serviced and the car is ready to go. I have the books and 2 keys. Please check out my feedback: 100% since '02. I am very honest and  tell it how it is. If you have any questions please call Rob at 337-780-2181. The last thing, I require a 300.00 deposit and a phone call from the winning bidder within 24 hours. At that time we can dicuss payment and and pickup.

VW exec calls US ops a 'disaster'

Thu, 23 Jan 2014

Today in the Tell Us How You Really Feel file we have Bernd Osterloh, head of Volkswagen AG's Group Works Councils and member of the company's supervisory board, labeling the company's US operations "a disaster." Why? Because Osterloh believes VW of America doesn't have the models it needs to be competitive here, hasn't been decisive enough about its plans and German higher-ups still don't understand the US market.
In truth, the top labor rep at the German conglomerate is echoing sentiments we've heard from VWoA executives for years, and there's been the same commentary from dealers: Germany doesn't pay enough attention to what the US market really wants. Even ex-VWoA CEO Stefan Jacoby, who preceded the recently departed Jonathan Browning, said early in his tenure that one of his tasks was to get his German bosses to start delivering what the US market demanded. New CEO Michael Horn is saying much the same thing seven years later, telling Sky News that it has to increase "the speed at which we bring new models to the market and innovation to the market."
Osterloh wants to get "more models" here, including a pickup truck, but we'd wonder if the economics have changed from when Jacoby said they'd need to sell 100,000 per year to make money. Osterloh also wants a decision on where the CrossBlue will be built. Although it looked as if the Chatanooga, TN plant would get the call, the Puebla, Mexico plant is still in the running because of lower operating costs. No matter what happens right now, Osterloh thinks the situation won't get better for another two years when revamped models arrive, but at least the company can start taking the steps for a better US future.

VW may make Bentley a subsidiary of Audi

Sun, Oct 25 2020

FRANKFURT — Volkswagen plans to make British luxury carmaker Bentley a subsidiary of its Audi division as it seeks economies of scale among its top-end brands, German trade publication Automobilwoche reported. Bentley, for now overseen by the head of VW's Porsche business, Oliver Blume, will from next year be part of Audi, where VW group Chief Executive Herbert Diess believes it has more potential, Automobilwoche cited company sources as saying. Synergies could include using Audi technology for a new Bentley SUV, it added. Volkswagen, which declined to comment on the report, is reviewing the future of its high-performance brands Lamborghini, Bugatti and Ducati motorcycles as part of broader quest for more economies of scale as it shifts to mass producing electric cars. Sources familiar with the matter told Reuters this month that Volkswagen was working on plans to prepare Lamborghini for a stock market listing. Related Video: Audi Bentley Volkswagen

10 best new car deals of November 2021

Thu, Nov 4 2021

Sales of new cars, trucks and SUVs were drastically affected in 2020 due to the (still) ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The market started to show signs of recovery toward the end of last year before really coming on strong in the early months of 2021. Of course, then pandemic-related parts and worker shortages along with global shipping constraints started running amok and causing a great deal of pricing fluctuation and a limited supply of certain vehicles. Those problems (among other things) have led to record-high new-car transaction prices in the United States. The good news is that there are still plenty of great deals on new cars. Using data provided by TrueCar, we’ve compiled a list of some of the best automotive deals for November 2021. WeÂ’ve noted the original MSRP, the average transaction price, and the total savings in both dollars and as a percentage of the original sticker price. Basically, weÂ’ve done all the hard work for you! So now, all you need to do is compare deals, go on a few test drives, and maybe drive away in a great car (and an even better bargain).
