2002 Vw Passat Wagon 1.8t on 2040-cars
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States
|
We are selling our 2002 VW Passat Wagon. We bought this in 2010 with 55,000 miles on it.
We have used it for the past 4 years without any problems. We just purchased a car with 4WD so we are selling this wagon. Recently we put new ignition coils and spark plugs in the car. We also bought a brand new battery today (receipt will be provided). We also installed a new air filter. We changed all four tires about a year ago and so they are matching tires. They also have less than 10,000 miles of wear on them so you should be good for the next 2-3 years. The car is coming for a pet-free and smoke-free family. As you can see in the photos, the fog light on the driver's side has a broken lens. This lens protects the fog light and the light still works but I will give you a new fog light that you can install. Also, one cv axel in the front clicks, but this has occurred since the day we bought the car and this didn't bother us so we didn't try and change it. If you wanted to change it, you can find the part on eBay for about $60. The driver's side back door does not work as a power lock. All of the other other electronics, air, etc. all work fine. As you can see in the photos, the car has some small scratches from wear and tear, but nothing major. The car comes as is, without warranty. The car has a clean PA title and the PA registration ends this month but the inspection is still good until August 2014. Please only bid if you are a serious buyer. Payment must be completed in the time frame listed. Be sure and ask your questions in advance. Buyer is responsible for pickup or arranging shipping. |

The hottest modern sports cars rendered as rally racers
Thu, Jan 14 2016The modern-day World Rally Championship a monumental amount of fun to watch – I should know, as I recently was lucky enough to head to the UK to watch WRC Wales Rally GB – but even the most monstrous of the current WRC cars are based on fairly pedestrian European hatchbacks. Back in the heyday of rally, the Group B era in the 1980s, much hotter cars were the basis of even more incredible competition machines, for the most part. Take the exotic Ford RS200, or the Lancia Delta S4 with its twin-charged engine. And the hatchback-based Group B cars were bonkers, too. So what would some of our favorite modern cars look like if Group B had never ended? A British site named CarWow hired an artist to reimagine everything from the Rolls-Royce Wraith to the Porsche 911 as a retro-inspired rally car, and they were kind enough to let us share the results in the gallery above. The gallery features an Alfa Romeo Giulia in Martini livery, an Audi TT in classic Ur-Quattro colors, a Fiat 500 Abarth sporting massive flares and a hood blister full of auxiliary lights, a new Ford Mustang in RS200 livery, a Lancia Delta in Alitalia colors, a Porsche 911 in Rothmans livery, a Renault-Alpine in classic blue, a Rolls-Royce Wraith tribute to the Jules cologne Corniche Coupe, and a relatively modern-looking VW Touran. So far, the favorite around the office is the incredible Mercedes-Benz S-Class that is an homage to the wonderful 300 SEL 6.8 AMG "Red Pig" that essentially put AMG on the map. Check out the gallery above and see which one you like the best. Related Video:
Texas sues VW over consumer protection, clean air violations
Sat, Oct 10 2015Texas has filed two suits against Volkswagen, charging that the automaker's emissions rigging violated state consumer protection laws and clean air standards. The lawsuit is part of a probe into the German automaker's diesel scandal being undertaken by 45 states and the District of Columbia. There are also over 250 class action suits that have been filed in US federal courts. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said Thursday that his state would seek restitution for consumers, and an injunction and civil penalties to prohibit future violations. Paxton, who himself has been indicted for securities fraud, said in a statement, "When companies willfully violate the public's trust, a penalty must be paid." Paxton said Texans purchased around 32,000 affected vehicles. There are about 49 authorized VW dealerships statewide. The Texas suit is asking for pollution fines of somewhere between $50 and $25,000 per vehicle (quite a spread, we know) for each day the vehicles were in use in the state. Volkswagen admitted in the middle of September that it installed devices designed to defeat government emissions tests on many Volkswagen and Audi diesel cars dating to model year 2009. Globally, 11 million VW group vehicles are affected. The automaker declined to comment to Bloomberg on the Texas lawsuit. Last month, Harris County, which includes Houston, filed a multimillion dollar lawsuit against VW, alleging the automaker contributed to air quality problems. You can find PDFs of the two state lawsuits here (the deceptive-practices case) and here (the environmental case). The AP contributed to this report. Translogic 168: CES 2015 Roundup
Wed, Jan 14 2015Translogic and the yearly CES glorious gadget geekout go together like digital peanut butter and high-def jelly. At this year's show, surrounded by an egg-shaped Mercedes-Benz concept and the re-introduction of, of all things, the Sony Walkman, we had some fun. Between talking with Volkswagen about its new gesture-control tech and flying some video drones, we squeezed in some time to shred on ZBoard's new electric skateboard. The future is now.
