This 1970 Karmann Ghia was completely restored in 2000. It has been in Hot VW Magazine twice and more recently was recognized at the Poplar Grove Antique Car Show. She is in excellent condition and has never given me any problems. Other than one tune up and a new battery, she has cranked and run like a dream every time I have taken her out. I would really love to hold onto her, but could use the money more at this point. She has newer style side mirrors, bucket seats, and an after market stereo housed in what was the glove box. I have put less than 2000 miles on her over the last 5.5 years and have never had any problems at all. Dual carburetors and smooth sailing make this a 'gotta have' antique VW. I am unsure of the exact mileage since restoration and have described this vehicle to the best of my ability. Please use the pictures for clarification on details...if you have questions, I will be happy to try and find you answers.
I would prefer a local pick-up, but would be willing to assist a moving company if you are unable to pick her up. Anybody would love to have this dependable little car as a daily driver or to add to their antique automobile collection...she will not disappoint!

VW announces recall of 26,000 2014 models with 1.8T engines
Tue, 22 Apr 2014Volkswagen has followed up on a stop-sale order from earlier this month, announcing a voluntarily recall of 26,400 vehicles that are powered by the brand's 1.8-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The new mill replaced the despised 2.5-liter five-cylinder in the Jetta, Passat, Beetle and Beetle Convertible last year. Weirdly, though, of the 26,452 units covered in the recall, only 1,655 are customer vehicles.
According to VW, the affected models were built between February 1 and April 6 of this year, and feature bad O-ring seals in the transmission oil cooler. Apparently, the faulty O-rings could cause a fluid leak, as they won't seal between the oil cooler and transmission. VW is blaming a material change from a supplier for the problem.
There have been no fires, injuries, accidents or fatalities relating to this issue, which VW will be fixing free of charge. Customers will need to report to dealers to have the O-rings replaced.
Help a couple drive their 1984 Vanagon around the world
Mon, 22 Apr 2013Meet Brad, Sheena and Nacho
Driving through China is a pricey proposition. The couple will need to pony up a staggering $19,514 just to cover the fees.
Brad and Sheena Van Orden are in the midst of a life-defining campaign to travel around the world, and they're doing it in a 1984 Volkswagen Vanagon custom built for the occasion. The past 15 months have seen the couple quit their jobs with Gore-Tex and drive from Arizona to the very southern tip of Argentina after spending a full two years saving and preparing for the trek. Now they're in southern Asia gearing up for the next leg of their journey.
Volkswagen to add 50k jobs by 2018
Thu, 04 Apr 2013Volkswagen still has its eyes set on becoming the top global automaker by 2018, and to get there, it's apparently going to need more boots on the ground. Automotive News Europe is reporting that VW is looking to increase its staff by 50,000 over the next five years - an increase of nine percent - which does not include an increase in its US dealer network.
According to the report, a majority of the growth will come from China where the automaker is also looking to double its production capacity in the same time frame. The Volkswagen Group is already expected to rival General Motors for the top sales spot in China this year, and such a rapid expansion in the region could make a good springboard for sales increases in other countries.
