*In addition to all maintenance, hood, bumper, both drivers side doors, trunk, and both fenders were repainted for small dents etc.

***This car had the ECU flashed two summers ago with Unitronic Stage 1 flash by a licensed Unitronic Dealer. I have never had any problems with anything throughout the different seasons. It got rid of some throttle lag and some other minor improvements. I got better gas mileage after the flash. It does call for 91 Octane Gasoline though. However, running 87 will not create a problem, it automatically adjusts to the lower grade fuel. Here is the link to the Unitronic website if you’d like to see the numbers and differences. http://www.unitronic-chipped.com/ecu-tuning/Volkswagen-Jetta-MK4-28L-12v-1999-2001

I have a k&n drop in air filter I clean every 15k and usually on highway trips I get 30-31 mpg. City I would say about 25-26. It is a great and reliable car and is fun to drive. I also have the stock radio and some other minor things I will include with the car. The 4 door speakers are aftermarket. They are Alpine 600c. The head unit is a Pioneer DEH-9800BT which includes Bluetooth. I have a microphone for the bluetooth handsfree I will include with the car, I just never mounted it.

Car was last inspected 1/15 and is good until 1/15. During last inspection headlights were wet sanded and polished so they do not have the foggy look many mkiv's have.

THE BAD:
Drivers door panel is slightly broken and catches when the door is opened. This was due to the door hinge being bent but it was replaced.
The only three rust spots are in the pictures, they are on both fenders, and one window seal.
Most of the cooling system was replaced however there is still a very slight leak. I only have to add coolant every month in a half or two months though. Mechanic stated it is too minuscule to worry about fixing.

I am only accepting CASH and you must pick up the vehicle on your own. I am not accepting paypal, nor am I offering any returns on the vehicle. BUYER is responsible for any fees taxes etc with title transfer.

If you would like to see pictures in higher resolution I can email them to you. If you have any other questions please feel free to message me. Thank you

2015 Volkswagen Touareg TDI Quick Spin [w/video]

Thu, Jul 9 2015

There are two particularly great things about diesel-powered cars: torque and range. The 2015 Volkswagen Touareg TDI has both in spades. We put 190 miles on our test car, and upon return, the computer claimed we still had 490 miles to go. We weren't even averaging the EPA-estimaged 29 miles per gallon highway. Plus, that's in a sport-utility vehicle with tons of room and a whopping 406 pound-feet of torque. That said, our most recent adventure with the Touareg wasn't totally positive. This thing feels decidedly long in the tooth, despite a 2014 refresh. Driving Notes The Touareg TDI's powertrain really is the star of the show. The 3.0-liter, turbodiesel V6 has been in service since 2009, but it's still a dynamite engine. With 240 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque, the latter of which can be called upon at just 2,000 rpm, there's no shortage of thrust under your right foot. Turbo lag is an issue when you get aggressive with the throttle, but don't drive like a boob and you'll be fine. ZF's critically acclaimed eight-speed automatic delivers that power to all four wheels. But where other ZF-equipped vehicles deliver a crisper, sharper character, the TDI's trans is tuned for a far more relaxed driving experience. Upshifts are leisurely; the eight-speed keeps you right in the thick of the Touareg's broad torque curve. The suspension tuning follows a similar philosophy. It's far more comfortable than dynamic, soaking up all manner of bumps and general imperfections with aplomb. That said, the Touareg does not feel floaty or disconnected – just smooth. The greasy bits of the Touareg are very desirable, but the package they're wrapped in is less so. It's not that the interior or exterior designs are necessarily bad – fans of Earth tones will love our tester's Black Oak Brown Metallic paint and Cornsilk Beige interior – they're just kind of bland, or anonymous. The switchgear and buttons come from the Volkswagen parts bin, and while they're fine on a $20,000 Golf, these pieces aren't as appropriate in a vehicle that starts at more than twice the price. The dash plastics and faux wood don't look as nice as what's inside an Acura MDX, or even a Jeep Grand Cherokee. This mid-level Touareg TDI Lux starts at $57,580.

Move over Nissan Leaf, VW E-Golf is the new sales champ in Europe

Wed, Apr 8 2015

Western European sales of the Volkswagen e-Golf electric vehicle got just extra charged up, and not just with electricity. For the first two months of the year, the VW EV overtook longstanding EV leader Nissan Leaf in terms of sales on the Continent, Aid Newsletter says. In fact, the e-Golf's 2,150 units sold in Western Europe through February was 400 more than what the Leaf managed. Norway was the key country here. With lots of EV incentives, the Leaf (not to mention the Tesla Model S) have always sold well there, but Volkswagen, through a big advertising push, moved more than three times as many e-Golfs in Norway as Nissan did the Leaf. It's sure a far cry from the US, where the Leaf remains the best-selling electric vehicle. Through February, Nissan moved 2,268 Leaf vehicles in the US, compared to 311 e-Golfs sold here. March sales didn't do much to change the balance, with 195 e-Golfs sold versus 1,817 Leafs. The e-Golf, which retails for about $36,000 in the States, gets an EPA-rated 116 miles per gallon equivalent, barely edging out the Leaf's 114 MPGe rating. The e-Golf can also go 83 miles on a single charge. Our review of the e-Golf is available here.
