This is a 2000 Volkswagen Jetta GLS 1.8T. 105,000 miles. Before you read the entire description....IT NEEDS A NEW MOTOR. With that being said the body is in excellent condition. Clearcoat is fading on numerous spots on the car. All 4 tires are in good condition. Auto transmission, which is good as far as I know. The motor is partially disassembled. Head is missing, does not come with the car. The turbo is still under the hood. Interior is in fair condition, leather has some discoloration. There are many parts in the trunk that were taken from the engine compartment. The engine is not fixable.....unless you are a machine shop. It needs a complete new or donor engine from another car. What you see in the pics is what you are bidding on. There are no additional parts that come with the car. It is worth fixing. My starting bid is the least I will take for the car and it is being offered at NO RESERVE. Please do not send offers for less than what the starting bid is. I am going to let the auction run its course. I have a clear Mississippi title in hand. Buyer will be responsible for pickup/shipping. BRING A TRAILER........this vehicle is obviously inoperable.

New VW Beetle Convertible ad needs no disguise

Ask someone if they'd drive a hardtop in near freezing temperatures with all the windows down and they might not even answer, thinking the question so ridiculous. Give that same person a convertible they love and you might just have to ask them to please put the top up even when snow is on the ground.
That guy has to take precautions to enjoy his proclivities, and as this new ad for the Volkswagen Beetle Convertible shows, not everyone understands. Have a watch below, and note that there's just one woman in the minute-long spot, and she's nowhere near the car. Seriously, why didn't VW run this commercial during the Super Bowl?

Sun, 31 Aug 2014Volkswagen is not messing around when it characterizes its new MQB architecture as modular. It's already underpinning the VW Golf, Audi A3, Seat Leon and Skoda Octavia, and will soon form the basis for many more. And here is the latest.
Unveiled at the Chengdu Motor Show in China this weekend is the new Volkswagen Lamando, a four-door coupe similar in size to a Jetta but with the svelter roofline of the larger Passat-based CC to go after the Mercedes-Benz CLA. It's essentially the production version of the New Midsize Coupe concept that previewed its arrival at the Beijing Motor Show this past April, and will be built locally for local consumption by VW's joint venture with SAIC.
Power comes from either a 1.4- or 2.0-liter turbo four mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, with an equivalent price tag below $30,000. Whether this or any similar vehicle ever arrives in North American showrooms remains to be seen, but we'll be watching to find out. EU formally questions French government assistance of Peugeot's finance arm
Fri, 28 Dec 2012Recently, the finance arm of PSA/Peugeot-Citroën was in such debt trouble that it was pricing itself out of the car loan market. The rates it was paying to service its debt, which was rated one step above junk, were so high that it was forced to charge car-buying customers higher rates than they could find elsewhere. This was adding to Peugeot's already impressive woes by sending revenue out the door to competitors.
Two months ago a deal was worked out with the French government whereby the state would provide 7 billion euro ($9 billion USD) in bonds to guarantee the finance arm's loans. The French government could nominate someone to join the Peugeot board, Peugeot would guarantee more French jobs, and on top of that deal, other banks would provide non-guaranteed loans. The government would take no equity stake in the car company.
Although not yet finalized, the arrangement is meant to create some breathing room for Peugeot Finance to lower its interest rates for customers, and a government-nominated board member, Louis Gallois, was recently named to Peugeot's supervisory board. The arrangement was also openly questioned by at least three competitors: Ford, Renault - which is 15-percent owned by the French government after it received state aid - and the German state of Lower Saxony, itself a 15-percent shareholder in Volkswagen.
