I am an independent used car dealer in Alpharetta, GA.  There are no dealer or documentation fees associated with this sale.  Georgia residents will have to pay the Georgia Title and Ad Valorem Tax which took effect earlier this year (no exceptions for Georgia residents).

I know the previous owner personally as well as where the vehicle was serviced for the last few years.  Previous owner upgraded to a larger four door vehicle due to having a baby.

Car is almost all original.  There is a trim piece bolted to the gas door.  It can be removed, but if so, there will be a few holes.  There is an aftermarket flip out radio that does not work too well (volume knob is defective).  Both front seats have had some repair work.  The upper half of both front seats had some rips and tears so they were both reupholstered with new leather.  The lower bottom half of both front seats as well as the rear seats are all original.   They car has some of the typical VW issues:clear coat peeling from the roof and side view mirrors, glove box door as well as arm rest is broken, trim pieces that cover the seat rails are broken, wheel center caps missing.  There is only 1 key with the car, buttons on the key are worn.

There is a dent/missing paint on the driver door where someone tried to break into the vehicle at one point, bumpers have a couple minor scrapes, car has a couple dings.

Overall the car runs and drives well and can be driven anywhere, paint is in good shape with the exception of the issues listed above.  AC is cold.  Oil change has just been done.  New hatch lift supports, new wipers.

Please ask as many questions as possible regarding the vehicle.  Thank you.

VW, Suzuki mulling rekindling relationship in face of legal battle

Sat, 27 Jul 2013

Volkswagen and Suzuki have been undergoing marriage counseling in a bid to avoid finalizing their nasty divorce. The blissful union has been troubled for some time, with Volkswagen claiming that it could affect operational decisions at Suzuki, and the Japanese brand's sniping and constant flirting with a certain Italian temptress causing rifts.
The matter first went to court in 2012, when Suzuki demanded VW get out, and leave its 19.9-percent stake in the Japanese brand in a box to the left. Now, Automotive News is reporting that the company will give the relationship one last shot, according to closed-door dealings between the two in London.
Still, it's understood that VW and Suzuki recognize the benefit of their alliance, and that it'd be in the best interests of the kids both parties to make things work. Spokespeople declined to comment to AN, but the newsmagazine spoke with Frank Biller, an analyst for LBBW in Stuttgart, who said, "Both companies stand to benefit if they can overcome the disagreements over leadership claims."

Volkswagen offers Beetle Classic, priced from $20,195*

Tue, 23 Sep 2014

The current Volkswagen Beetle already tries to be a fairly retro-looking ride by cribbing styling elements from the iconic original. However, for the new, limited-edition Classic model, VW is hopping into the time machine to grab even more vintage cues. The company is even cutting the price, perhaps in hopes of turning around flagging sales this year. You don't need to wait long for any of these upgrades either because the automaker says that the Classic goes on sale this week for $20,195, *excluding the $820 destination charge. That's $100 less than a bone-stock Beetle.
Starting as a standard Beetle with VW's 1.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 170 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque, the Classic edition comes with a six-speed automatic and then adds some retro flair. It includes new vintage-look 17-inch wheels with simulated dog dish polished hubcaps over black spokes. It also comes with a rear spoiler, and the automaker is offering the model in Pure White, Black Uni, and Reflex Silver.
The interior mixes in a few more classic touches but includes modern amenities like a standard navigation system, satellite radio and multifunction steering wheel. However, the seats are finished in a two-tone design combining light brown leatherette on the sides and checked cloth centers, plus lumbar support for the driver's side. The shift knob and handbrake also get wrapped in leather.

NA auto output to reach 11-year peak

Thu, 13 Jun 2013

According to Automotive News, automakers are expected to manufacture 16 million light vehicles in North America in 2013. That's up 500,000 units from last year and marks the largest number since 2002. The prediction comes courtesy of LMC Automotive and IHS Automotive, which point to the improving US economy as a bellwether for total production. LMC Automotive says North America will produce 16 million vehicles while IHS has a slightly more optimistic forecast of 16.1 million units. A total of seven automakers are slated to increase production on the continent this year. Nissan is set to see the largest jump at 20 percent over last year.
Volkswagen, meanwhile, is one of the only manufacturers predicted to scale back production. Analysts expect the German company's output to fall by 23 percent to 170,000 units, thanks in part to slow demand for the Volkswagen Passat and Jetta.
