Manual 5 speed. Black leather interior, sunroof, heated seats, power windows, 6cd changer, Monsoon stereo, 188km. V6, 2.8L cylinder engine is fast and the car is extremely fun to drive. Rare and unique factory Tropic Orange color that VW produced for a few years. Body is in excellent shape. You will always find this car in a parking lot full of boring grey, white and black cars. I purchased the car in late 2004 while living in the US (odometer actually lists 117k in miles) and brought it back to Vancouver in 2006. Car has been professionally maintained by Blitzkrieg Autowerks in Vancouver. Engine was replaced and rebuilt last year with a newer, low milage engine due to a timing chain malfunction. Timing chain and waterpump were done at this time. Clutch, suspension, electrical and charging system have been updated in the last 2-3 years |

Volkswagen shows off performance-ish Passat concept
Mon, 14 Jan 2013As part of its 2013 Detroit Auto Show debut package, Volkswagen has rolled out a sportier version of the Passat sedan, though it's strictly conceptual for now. A small dose of go-fast visuals have been added to the handsome Volkswagen, including 19-inch wheels, carbon-capped mirrors, an advanced front lighting system, LED taillamps and dual exhaust. Some carbon bits and upgraded leather are found inside the cabin, as well.
But the real performance chops come in the form of a 1.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that sends 250 horsepower to the Passat's front wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission. That's a good boost in power over the 170 hp of the base 2.5-liter inline-five, but not quite as potent as the 3.6-liter VR6. A lowered sport suspension and revised electronic steering are also on hand, making things slightly more involving out on the road... we assume.
It's not quite the performance concept we were hoping for, but a more enthusiastic Passat isn't necessarily a bad thing. Scroll down for the press release.
VW Golf Sportsvan succeeds Golf Plus in Frankfurt

Just ahead of this week's Frankfurt Motor Show, Volkswagen has announced the world premiere of its Golf Sportsvan, a near-production concept that succeeds its Golf Plus. VW describes this compact family car as "one of the most versatile vehicles of the compact class," noting that it offers a mix of hatchback and minivan features in a sporty package.
That sportiness comes from the Sportsvan's styling (perhaps more sleek wagon than minivan) and performance features it shares with the Golf GTI - including the XDS+ electronic differential lock, which is integrated into the Electronic Stability Control system to improve agility. At the same time, the Sportsvan's six engine options, which include a turbodiesel, are up to 19-percent more fuel-efficient than their predecessors.
