At auction is a Used Cabriolet . It has approx 122000 thousand miles in it .It starts every time and has never left me walking . It drives straight and the brakes work well . One key works the entire car ,all lights work and the car passes Smog without issue . It has been used by my Son for the last  6 years to get him to high school and through College . It has done its job and now time for someone else to enjoy it . This is a California Rust free car .The doors hang well and the top opens and closes without effort . It was involved in a left front collision which required replacing the fender and fender trim and straightening the inner structure . This did not effect the suspension or structure in any way . There is a wrinkle in the lower valance as well as the radiator support .
This car has always had maintenance when needed .The brakes have been worked in the last 6 months and stop well . The battery is new from the accident . The water pump and timing belt are have less than 10 thousand miles on them . Both front axles have been replaced  as well   The top is less than 3 years old and was professionally installed with all new cables . The top boot is included as well as the well worn owners manual . This car has had numerous trips to Tahoe skiing as well as local and medium distance trips .  I would not hesitate to hop in it and drive it any time . This is not a standard cheapie Cabriolet . This is a full optioned car (except power top ) . I have no receipts for repairs as I have done most of them myself or bartered them away . This California  car is reeady to Drop the top and enjoy the weather .  The photos show the hood with bad clear coat . We have a Very nice correct color hood which will come with the car . The car is across the bay from me and i have not had the car to install the hood .
While this car does have some warts and personality it is true performer that you can count on . Go to Cabby.com and look at these German made beauties and see what a loyal following they have .  The state will give me $1000.00 for this car if i turn it in . it is too nice of a car to turn in . I will if it does not sell . I have no room for this car so buy it and save it from it's unpleasant end .
If interested shoot me an intelligent offer ,I could set up a buy it now .  Calls are fine at  6five0  7two2 4nineone4 . I always pick up ,early or late I don't care .

VW TDI ads star four 'salty' ladies and a stinky dog named Tuna

Sun, Mar 22 2015

The Kim Kardashian sex tape just keeps on giving: it brought the Three Golden Sisters to our attention, and now Volkswagen has used their comedic, Bronx grandmother schtick to promote its TDI engines. The ads are another round in the fight against the malicious perceptions of diesel – like how they're slow and loud (they aren't), that it's hard to find a station to refill (it isn't), and that they stink (they don't). Tanner Foust makes an appearance in one spot to dispel the notion of sluggishness, and Tuna the Dastardly Dog proves that she (or he?) can outstink a diesel any day. You'll find Tuna in the ad above, the other three ads are below. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. 2023 CES Editors' Picks

Mon, Jan 9 2023

Over the past few years, it has become more and more clear that the Consumer Electronics Show is a car show. And this year that reality is more clear than ever. Not only did established automakers show off seriously important vehicles, but a traditional electronics company brought a car that gives an idea of its intents (with the help of establishment car company). With so many car reveals, we had to rank our favorites. Our picks for this show are entirely electric. Or at least, they are on paper, since many are concepts. Considering the name of the show, it would be a little strange if they weren't. In fact, not only are many of our favorites concepts, they all are save for one. See how they shook out below. VW ID7 camo View 28 Photos 5. Volkswagen ID.7 "The ID.7 definitely got lost in the crowd at CES. That it was camouflaged definitely didn't help, even if that camo was electroluminescent (BMW trumped it big time with its color-changing Dee). Nevertheless, this is a close-to-production hatchback-ed sedan, not unlike today's Arteon, with an extra-long wheelbase courtesy its EV architecture. It should be a solid answer to the Tesla Model 3 and Hyundai Ioniq 6, and even if people obviously prefer SUVs now, VW says there is still a market for sedans. I know I'd probably prefer one." –Senior Editor, West Coast and Reviews, James Riswick Peugeot Inception concept View 12 Photos 4. Peugeot Inception "It's not often that show debuts surprise us. While Peugeot teased the Inception ahead of CES, its unveiling seemed almost incidental. But just look at this thing; it's like an electric French Mustang with someplace important to be. I don't buy into the stupid 'It's not a wheel!' thing that Peugeot CEO Linda Jackson described as providing a video-game-like drive experience, but that bit of silliness aside, this is a really promising design study. Give us more of these and fewer tall boxes, please." –Associate Editor Byron Hurd Afeela prototype from Sony Honda Mobility View 11 Photos 3. Afeela by Sony Honda “Ever since Sony showed off an impressively put-together concept car at CES a few years ago, IÂ’ve been anticipating the companyÂ’s next move. Apparently, that next move is “Afeela.” No, I donÂ’t love the name. The specs from SonyÂ’s original concept car give me hope that this prototype sportback (itÂ’s a hatchback!) will be fun to drive, though.

VW recalls 1.1M Jetta, Beetle models in US, China over suspension fears

Fri, 17 Oct 2014

Volkswagen is recalling about 1.1 million vehicles in China and North America in a newly announced campaign affecting the rear suspensions on some models. For the US, the action covers about 442,265 vehicles, including 400,602 examples of its 2011-2013 Jetta and 41,663 units of the 2012-2013 Beetle and Beetle Convertible. According to Reuters, the recall affects a further 126,000 vehicles in Canada and about 581,090 in China, including related market-specific models like the Sagitar.
The problem can occur if the affected models have a collision to the rear or the side-rear of the vehicle. It's then possible for the trailing arms on the torsion-beam rear suspension to be damaged. If the harm isn't noticed, then the part could fracture while driving. Obviously, a broken rear suspension is going to have an adverse effect on handling.
To fix things, VW dealers will inspect the trailing arms on the models, and they will all receive a sheetmetal part that will make a distinctive sound if broken in the future. If already damaged, the entire torsion beam will be replaced. Obviously, this work will be done at no charge to owners.
