Here is a super rare 1991 VW Vanagon GL Syncro Westfalia Bus, full camper!! This Van is equipped with the 4 cylinder, 2.1L motor, a 4 speed manual transmission and four wheel drive!!
The body of this van is very straight, no dents and no dings. The paint shines and looks good! No major rust. There are some very minor and superficial scratches, blemishes and rock chips in the paint/clear coat, expected for the age of the vehicle. As with most of these vans, the original paint started to oxidize and the van was re-painted some years back. There are a few places around the bus, mainly around the sliding door where the paint has chipped off, got scratched off since than and has been touched up, it's not a perfect match, please see pictures. Also, the van popped out of gear while being parked at a gas station and rolled into the pump. The damage is mostly on the passengers side front corner above the head light and some on the passenger side front door at the 4WD decal, please see pictures. The top has a few small cracks in the fiber glass in one small area on the passenger side, more towards the front Yakima rack, please see pictures.
The interior is in good shape. There are no cracks in the dashboard, please see pictures. The headliner as well as the sun visors are in excellent condition. The drivers and passenger seats are in good shape, drivers seat has one small tear, please see pictures. The carpet is in good shape as well, no rips and only a few small stains, please see pictures. The power windows work good! All of the guages work perfect aside for the engine temperature, the bus has an after market temperature guage installed, please see pictures. The windshield is in good shape only a few chips and no cracks! There are a few small rips in the vinyl areas inside the bus and the top sleeping pad has a few small holes. The AC has been converted to the new system and works good and the van is equipped with factory power steering! The cruise control does not work. The bus has the Go Westy fridge-be-gone, so there is no fridge. The sink as well as the stove work great!! The canvas top has a few patches at the very back as well as one on the passenger side, there are a few tiny holes remaining, please see pictures. Also, the van will come with some nice extras including Go Westy 15" alloy wheels, a very nice A&E Catalina 2500 Awning, a power inverter as well as a secondary battery, a very rare sliding door mosquito net (never used), a full bus cover, a VW Vanagon repair manual&shop book, an emergency triangle, Yakima racks and a first aid kit, please see pictures!
The motor starts and runs great, fully re-built under 10k miles ago at a cost of over $5K including a brand new clutch pack!! The manual transmission shifts smooth. Also, this Syncro just has a brand new muffler&cat installed and passes California smog! Recently the bus also had a master cylinder installed and has Old Man Emu shocks. All 4 tires are in good shape, BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A Baja Champions, size LT 215/75R15 mounted on Go Westy alloy wheels!! This van holds a free and clear California title!! Records show a milage discrepancy on carfax, back in '92 the odometer broke. After being fixed at the dealer, it got reported to dmv, state law. The odometer became intermittent in 2007 when the van had 125k miles. It got replaced with a good used unit reading 591,124 on 9-16-2010 at the same time the new motor was installed. The odometer shows 600k at this time and the milage is estimated to be around 160k, on the high side.
Please keep in mind that this is an older vehicle and is not in new condition!! Please expect normal wear and tear for a vehicle of this age and miles, this is not a brand new vehicle and it is not perfect!! If you are looking for a Super Rare, '91 VW Syncro Westfalia Full Camper 4x4, than this is the Bus for you!!

Unlike the US, the commercial truck market throughout the rest of the world is chocked full of competitors from many different automakers. Since 2006, Volkswagen has had a fullsize van called the Crafter that was a result of a partnership with Daimler AG and based on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. This partnership is supposed to last through 2016, but Reuters is reporting that VW might be looking to end its relationship with Daimler and create its own van in cooperation with German truck and bus maker MAN.
The article says that VW AG has more than a 75-percent stake in MAN, which would essentially be keeping the new commercial vehicle in-house. Even if VW bolts, Daimler still has a deal worked out in the commercial truck industry between its subsidiary Mitsubishi Fuso and Renault-Nissan to supply the other with different trucks.

Funnily enough, in light of dieselgate, Volkswagen is one of the few brands (along with Volvo and Subaru) to preserve the notion that you don't need a fuel-sucking SUV to meet your life-carrying needs. And, yes, VW's history of addressing off-road desires with all-wheel-drive dates to the mid-1980s with the Quantum Syncro (a.k.a. Passat) and Golf Country – the latter, sadly, never came stateside. The latest offering toward this effort is the 2017 Volkswagen Alltrack. What's an Alltrack? It's a slightly lifted, cladded, and butched-out version of the Golf Sportwagen (yes, formerly known as a Jetta). Not to steal Alltrack's thunder, but starting in 2017 you can also get the standard Sportwagen with 4Motion AWD, which is basically the same running gear for less money. The Alltrack starts at $26,950; the 4Motion Sportwagen starts at $24,930, both with the dual-clutch automatic available at launch. Any discussion of tall wagons brings Subaru immediately to mind, both with the Outback and the Impreza-based Crosstrek. The Volkswagen Alltrack sits between the two in size at 180.2 inches long – 5 more than the Crosstrek and 9.4 inches shorter than the Outback. The 2017 Subaru Outback starts at $25,645, and VW's comparisons focus on the Outback, which is understandable given the similar starting price. A bare-bones Crosstrek starts at $22,245, but quickly gets into Golf price overlap. The Alltrack and the 4Motion Golf Sportwagen are superior daily drivers to the Subaru, whether you're doing an emergency lane change or just trying to merge onto the interstate. Meanwhile, the Crosstrek doesn't have the refinement of the VW. Can we fault Subaru though? It's set a sales record every year in a row since 2010 and is looking at about triple the sales volume of VW's Golf for 2016. So we'll stick to telling you what we think of the Alltrack and let the dealers fight for your dollars. First thing's first. Yes, you can have the Golf Sportwagen and even the Alltrack with a manual six-speed gearbox. The seven-speed DSG automatic is very good, but it's worth noting that any manual gearbox is a rarity these days, especially when we're not talking about a two-seat sports car. You will have to wait until early 2017 for that option, but it also saves you $1,100 off both models. Second, the Alltrack and 4Motion Sportwagens get identical engines. Whether manual or DSG, VW's EA888 turbocharged 1.8-liter four-cylinder is under the hood.
