Bus motor does not overheat and it drove like a dream. See Pics from 1-19-2014 trip photos. We did over 400 miles in the bus and got great gas millage compare to a rv. The bus does need tlc and a full tune up just to have it service before I would take across the country since it sat for over a year. This is a 34+yeard old Vw bus that will need tlc just like any other one and it is Sold as-is and the buyer is responsible for transport and smog etc..The Bus is 34+ years is a clean bus to what is out their unless you pay over 25k. Once you work all the little kinks out of it, I honestly thinks it will be a dreams bus. If u want a fully restored bus and want to pay 40k this one is not for you. If you want a nice bus that you will fall in love and use it everyday then this one is for you. It is part of my seniors dad collection and he loved the bus but has not driven it for a year. I have sold many cars to Europe and had always happy customers. These buses are only going to go higher in value bcs u can take them on a trip and is a whole different trip then a gas drinking rv. Tom Hanks the actor bought one recently, a camper too.No Reserve auction-I see these online for 10,000 plus all the time. GREAT THINGS ABOUT THE BUS- 1-Westfalia camper-Frig,sink,cabinets,beds-etc Nice and usable see pics, top bunk is white and like new. 2-1980 Vw Vanagon Motor rebuilt and around 30k on it, Strong not like those early bus that could no go 60 mph, This bus cruises at 70mph with no problem. 3-Nice color-original Vanilla yellow but now a little brither yellow. 4-Manual-4 speed-Easy to drive and very realiable. Great Trans. 5-Good glass and interior. Passanger seat swivels for more seating space. 6-New fuel pump, battery, new hoses, Many new parts. 7-Starts every time and it has new fuel and pump etc. The Bad- 1- Tent is torn but I found one for as little as 149-new or fix this one.or fix this one. 2-1980 Nice Cond but not perfect has some dings in and out etc.. Rear cushion works but it is thiner then original but very usable. 3-Speedo just broke at 189k. Missing Cd radio face cover. 4-Paint looks great from distance but upclose you can see that at sometime it was painted cheaply, It does has some minor surface rurs and dings old owner prior to us had it painted, but the little rust is surface only. 5-Bus should have a full tune up so it can travel anywhere, tires have some cracks and Brakes should have new pads. 6-Key-opens front doors but rear and side door is missing, but doors all doors close and open with no problems 7-Camper Kitchen Stove works etc but everything needs to be cleaned due to it sitting a year. Water tank needs to be cleaned too. Propane tank needs a new knob because it does leek propane from the tank, easy fix for a part from a rv/camping store. Common gasket goes bad. Quated it is a $ 10 part and look easy to install. Well I did my best but please realize that a vehicle can have any problem or they can run for ever. Please don't bid on this item unless you plan to buy it. It takes lots of time and money to list a item. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ASK ANY QUESTION????

BMW says its diesels are above board
Fri, Sep 25 2015BMW got yanked into the riptide of the Volkswagen diesel scandal thanks to a report in Auto Bild, which Auto Bild has now clarified. On Thursday the German magazine said that when the International Council on Clean Transportation tested the X3 xDrive 2.0d, the ICCT discovered the diesel X3's tailpipe emissions exceeded the European limit by more than 1,100 percent. The key detail, though, is that apparently at no time did the ICCT find that BMW cheated on any emissions tests. No one has explained why the X3 diesel had such high emissions and the ICCT wouldn't comment on the Auto Bild report. But the mag has issued a clarification asserting that in spite of the excessive emissions, there is no evidence BMW engaged in regulatory subterfuge. Every other BMW vehicle ICCT tested was within compliance, but the organization's report from October 2014 - that no one paid attention to - found that nitrogen oxide emissions in 15 vehicles it tested averaged seven times the European limit. The brand's stock is still suffering from the taint. It dropped almost ten percent the day the report came out before rallying to close at five percent down. But on Monday BMW stock closed at 84.01 euros, and as of writing on Friday it's still trying to fight its way back above 80 euros. With so many people still just trying to find out how widespread the the issue is, and trust rather low, it's likely BMW won't be the one dragged down, fairly or not. Related Video:
Interested, then not: Marchionne not 'chasing' a VW merger
Tue, Mar 14 2017Update (March 15, 2017) : Automotive News reports that FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne, regarding the suggested VW and FCA merger, said in a press conference "I have no interest." He also said that he "will not call Matthias," the CEO of VW. He did add that he would be willing to entertain anything VW brings up, but he has "no intention of chasing him." Despite this, Marchionne still took a moment to reinforce his favorable stance concerning mergers and consolidation. Last week, Volkswagen's CEO Matthias Mueller effectively shut down Fiat Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne's idea of the two automakers merging. However, it seems Mueller has softened, if only just, to the idea. According to Reuters, the CEO said in a press conference he is "not ruling out a conversation." However, he did say that he would like Marchionne to discuss with him directly the possibility rather than to the media. Though this statement certainly doesn't mean such a merger is happening, it's far more open than when he said outright the company isn't in any talks with anyone at the moment. His new stance also indicates that there may be people (lawyers, accountants, etc.) behind the scenes working out possible ways a merger could work. And even though this new development makes the prospect of a merger between the two companies a bit less bleak, it's still a long way from the "will they, won't they" relationship between GM and FCA. FCA's pursuit of GM involved emailing CEO Mary Barra and the threats of a hostile takeover, the latter of which resulted in some awkward statements about hugs. Only time will tell if VW becomes open enough for Marchionne to talk about hugs again. Related Video:
KBB: VW diesel prices have dropped 16%
Fri, Oct 23 2015There are a lot of post-scandal theories and metrics concerning Volkswagen's performance during the diesel emissions scandal, although none of them has created a clear picture of where things are headed. Kelley Blue Book has a few more to add to the spreadsheet, though, finding that average auction prices for VW diesels and Internet shoppers perusing them have both gone down in the past four weeks on KBB.com. Auction prices on the site are down an average of 16 percent for VW oil burners, which compares to a decline of 2.9 percent for gas-powered VWs. Shoppers are still on the lookout, though, even if the numbers are slightly reduced. Overall, "new-car shopping activity" for the small-capacity VW diesel offerings is down 2.4 percent, a number held partly in check by searches for the Jetta SportWagen being up by 3.7 percent. Shoppers are looking harder at the Audi A3 diesel, too, its activity up 1.6 percent. The Golf, though, is down 3.7 percent and the Golf SportWagen down 6.2 percent. Shoppers leaving the diesel fold aren't necessarily going for high-mileage options, either, KBB saying that the Ford Fusion and Honda Civic are quick alternatives to the Jetta TDI, while the Mercedes CLA and BMW 2 Series are getting new looks from those interested in the Audi A3 diesel. You can read the full release from KBB below. VOLKSWAGEN DIESEL VEHICLE PRICES DECLINE NEARLY 16 PERCENT, ACCORDING TO KELLEY BLUE BOOK DATA New-Car Shopping Activity Also Impacted by Recent Emissions Issue IRVINE, Calif., October 21, 2015 – Kelley Blue Book www.kbb.com, the only vehicle valuation and information source trusted and relied upon by both consumers and the automotive industry, today reports that average auction prices, along with new-car shopping activity on KBB.com, for Volkswagen diesel vehicles have declined four weeks after the diesel emissions issue was announced. The average auction price for Volkswagen diesel models dropped by nearly 16 percent since the news broke of the emissions crisis.[1] The average auction price for the brand's gasoline-powered vehicles declined by 2.9 percent.1 On KBB.com, Volkswagen new-car shopping activity for affected TDI models has decreased on average by 2.4 percent. "According to Kelley Blue Book Field Analysts, some auctions are still holding off on selling the affected Volkswagen inventory," said Tim Fleming, analyst for Kelley Blue Book.
