FOR BID: 1978 Riviera Camper Bus.

Original paint and interior.  Paint is freshly buffed out.  Typical dings, chips and scatches.  Took a picture of a dent in the rear.  Nothing major.  Just want to be honest in the representation.

Motor is original as well I believe. It is fuel injected with a new fuel pump and several hard lines replaced as well.

Pop top canvas is in great shape, I will add pictures in the next day or so.  Canvas is yellow canvas and original bed pad.

Interior is original as well.  No aftermarket stereo and sub woofer here!  Good old original am/fm.  Front seats and dash are in great shape, no cracks in the dash. Full curtains front to back.  Cabinets have a few issues with shrunken moldings and particle board swell, DOES NOT effect the funtionality.  Doors, drawers and slides operate fine.  Please notice wear on the front of the bottom cushion in back.  I believe it is UV deterioration.

I haven't messed with the sink or fridge.  Don't know if they work or not.  Haven't tried out the porta potty either!!

I have the rubber mat for front floorboards, in great shape.  I have the door panels and kick boards as well but they aren't pretty so I left out of the pictures.

Brand new Les Schwab tires and napa battery.

Steering box is tight and the brakes are good.

Small small amount of rust under auxiliry battery tray.  Absolutely minimum.

Overall a great daily driver camper bus.  People flock to this Bus anytime you stop long enough to get your attention.  Not perfect but an absolutely great place to start your own Bus journey.

I live in S.E Washington on the Oregon boarder.  I am offering to have this Bus delivered to anywhere in Washington or Oregon for $2.50 a mile one way.

Thanks for looking.

VW readying CC Shooting Brake?

Mon, 11 Feb 2013

This was bound to happen. Volkswagen's relentless drive for big volume has the brand mining seemingly every niche it can find for additional sales worldwide. And with its CLS Shooting Brake, fellow countryman Mercedes-Benz has already shown that a wagon based off of a "four-door coupe" can look dead sexy and command extra dollars. So it follows that the Volkswagen CC (whose existence is all but directly attributable to the success of the original CLS sedan) will also get a load-lugging variant. That's according to the UK's Autocar, which notes that the five-door will come in the CC's next generation.
According to the report, the next CC will be available in front and all-wheel drive variants with the usual assortment of gas and diesel four-cylinders found in the Wolfsburg empire, with the possibility of a gas plug-in hybrid model, too. The rakish estate will ride atop VW's MQB architecture, a shorter variant of which is also found underneath the new Golf. The scalable chassis is set to spread like kudzu throughout the company's lineup, but the CC probably won't happen until after the launch of the next European-market Passat in 2015.
Will we get it in North America? Hard to say. Volkswagen sells the standard CC saloon here, but not in particularly large numbers, and when the company moved to a North American-specific Passat, it dumped the wagon variant. The traditional VW estate apparently continues to pick up sales momentum abroad, however, making the CC Shooting Brake a seemingly natural fit for buyers who still want the utility of a two-box form but can afford to sacrifice a bit of cargo room in the name of style.

UAW angered over VW workers getting right to defend anti-union vote

Thu, 13 Mar 2014

The United Auto Workers have called a decision by the National Labor Relations Board allowing anti-UAW employees at the Volkswagen factory in Chattanooga the right to defend voting down unionization at the plant "an outrage."
You'll recall that the union was defeated by a vote of 712 to 626 in a contentious February election. The UAW claims the outcome was unfairly swayed by pro-business, anti-union forces, including Senator Bob Corker and political advocate Grover Norquist.
This new decision by the NLRB essentially gives workers backed by the anti-UAW National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation and Southern Momentum a formal voice in the impending hearing on the UAW's appeal of the vote.

Volkswagen Golf voted 2013 European Car of the Year

Tue, 05 Mar 2013

The seventh-generation Volkswagen Golf just went on sale in Europe, but it is already off to a promising start. Announced as the Geneva Motor Show kicked off, the newest Golf was named European Car of the Year for 2013 in dominating style over cars like the Subaru BRZ/Toyota GT86 twins, Volvo V40, Ford B-Max and Mercedes-Benz A-Class.
According to Automotive News Europe, the MkVII Golf won handily over its rivals with a total of 414 votes. The Subaru BRZ and Toyota GT86 received 202 votes finishing in a distant second, while the Volvo V40 (189 votes), Ford B-Max (148 votes) and Mercedes-Benz A-Class (138 votes) round out the top five. The new Golf marks the third Volkswagen product to receive the prestigious award with previous cars including the MkIII Golf and the most recent iteration of the Polo.
