This is originally a 7-seater (2-2-3) microbus with a steel sliding roof that was converted into a campmobile with a penthouse pop-top sleeper. I've had the bus for almost a year, and I'd love to keep it, but I've got too many other things going on right now.

Bus was bought down south about 2 years ago and was garage kept. Has only seen one northern winter, with no road salt.

Clear NJ title & Inspection is up to date

Current mileage 160,900

Bus is ready to drive home. Turn the key and your ready to go.

With the exception of the campmobile interior, it's almost all original, and is in decent shape; a few rips in the rear seat covers and headliner. Front seat cushions could be replaced, as could the seat pedestal liners. A few cracks in the dashboard vinyl, and one on the steering wheel. A few hundred bucks and the entire interior could look brand new.

Carpet and thermal insulation was recently installed.

Pop-up works and lifts straight up. Driver side screen is torn and would need to be fixed or replaced. Just the screen is ripped; the canvas material is fine.

Sliding door works nice and smooth; open and closes perfectly.

Radio has been replaced with a newer Radio/CD Player with Bluetooth and USB, with separate power switch.

Bus was painted about 2 years ago, and there's no real significant rust present anywhere.

One small 1/4" area on back window would need some work, minor surface rust present. Hard to notice if your not looking for it.

Motor is in great shape. Turn the key and she fires right up. Needs a little warm-up time in the cold. Could probably use a carb rebuild.

New alternator

New battery

New heater/air vent levers (not installed). The heat distribution level cable needs to be replaced. (about a $20 part). Rear defroster is disconnected.

Includes a new accelerator cable (not installed)

Brakes work well; new front brake pads and new emergency brake cable

SCAT shifter, with a lockout for reverse

NEAL gas pedal

Clutch works fine; nice and smooth.

$500 Deposit will be required 24 hours after auction ends. Remaining balance will need paid within 7 days.

Buyer will be responsible for pickup of the vehicle.

Consumer Reports no longer recommends Honda Civic

Mon, Oct 24 2016

Consumer Reports annual Car Reliability Survey is out, and yes, there are some big surprises. First and foremost? The venerable publication no longer recommends the Honda Civic. In fact, aside from the walking-dead CR-Z and limited-release Clarity fuel-cell car, the Civic is the only Honda to miss out on CR's prestigious nod. At the opposite end there's a surprise as well – Toyota and Lexus remain the most reliable brands on the market, but Buick cracked the top three. That's up from seventh last year, and the first time for an American brand to stand on the Consumer Reports podium. Mazda's entire lineup earned Recommended checks as well. Consumer Reports dinged the Civic for its "infuriating" touch-screen radio, lack of driver lumbar adjustability, the limited selection of cars on dealer lots fitted with Honda's popular Sensing system, and the company's decision to offer LaneWatch instead of a full-tilt blind-spot monitoring system. Its score? A lowly 58. The Civic isn't the only surprise drop from CR's Recommended ranks. The Audi A3, Ford F-150, Subaru WRX/STI, and Volkswagen Jetta, GTI, and Passat all lost the Consumer Reports' checkmark. On the flipside, a number of popular vehicles graduated to the Recommended ranks, including the BMW X5, Chevrolet Camaro, Corvette, and Cruze, Hyundai Santa Fe, Porsche Macan, and Tesla Model S. Perhaps the biggest surprise is the hilariously recall-prone Ford Escape getting a Recommended check – considering the popularity of Ford's small crossover, this is likely a coup for the brand, as it puts the Escape on a level playing field with the Recommended Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, and Nissan Rogue. While Ford is probably happy to see CR promote the Escape, the list wasn't as kind for every brand. For example, of the entire Fiat Chrysler Automobiles catalog, the ancient Chrysler 300 was the only car to score a check – there wasn't a single Dodge, Fiat, Jeep, Maserati, or Ram on the list. That hurts. FCA isn't alone at the low end, either. GMC, Jaguar Land Rover, Mini, and Mitsubishi don't have a vehicle on CR's list between them, while brands like Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Nissan, Lincoln, Infiniti, and Cadillac only have a few models each. BMW, Ferrari, VW cars use tungsten mined by terrorists

Thu, 08 Aug 2013

Bloomberg Markets is reporting that BMW, Volkswagen and Ferrari have been using tungsten ore sourced from Columbia's FARC rebel terrorists. The extensive story focuses on Columbia's illegal mining trade and calls into question the provenance of the rare ore that is used not only in crankshaft parts production, but is also found in the world's computing and telecommunications industry for use in screens.
The ore is mined by the FARC (Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia, or Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia - People's Army), and exported to Pennsylvania, where it is refined. The refined ore is then sent over to Austria, where a company called Plansee turns it into a finished product. Now, it's important to note that we aren't talking about the world's supply of tungsten here. In 2012, Plansee's American refinery purchased 93.2 metric tons of tungsten, valued at $1.8 million. That's peanuts, with the entire Colombian tungsten mining industry producing just one percent of the world's supplies.
That doesn't make indirectly supporting FARC any more acceptable, though. BMW, VW and Ferrari are all committed to not accepting mineral supplies from the Democratic Republic of Congo, which is also in the grips of a guerrilla insurrection funded, in part, by illegal mining. The same commitment would figure to extend to Colombian mining, but as BMW points out, it's difficult for a multi-national manufacturer to know where every item in its supply chain comes from. A company spokesperson says as much, telling Bloomberg, "These few grams out of the billions of tons of raw materials passing through the BMW supply chain are of no practical relevance."
