Offered for No Reserve is my 1972 Volkswagen Westfalia,
while its not perfect, its a great start compared to others I have seen!
I feel its in decent shape for being for being 40 plus years old. It has its
correct 1700cc with its factory dual carbs. It recently came out of long term storage
and had a light servicing, it runs and drives good however will need some
adjustments to the carburetors and the brakes will need attention. It has a nice Gene Berg $500 shifter which is a nice upgrade compared to the stock shifter. With a
little effort, it will be ready for your next adventure This 1972 Westfalia has recently emerged from hibernation in Northern California where it been its entire life. It was purchased from the second owners and is one incredible find in my mind, please remember this is not a restored 1972 Westfalia. The body is in decent shape, I was told it was repainted once in the 1980s it has some cancer under the windshield, and will need the drivers wing window fixed along with a new poptop canvas. As with all vintage vehicles they all require some tinkering. Good news is the floors and frame are all solid throughout! Overall its a nice start, though it is not flawless, as it has some minor pitting, dings, scratches, surface patina etc, which is common for its age that has never been restored. Many people like it the way it is as it has lots of soul character. The interior has all its original Westfalia cabinets, sink, and bed. I have a clear California title in hand. This 1972 Westfalia is being listed at NO RESERVE and the high bidder wins. Thank you, good luck and happy bidding. We can assist in working with your shipper to pickup the vehicle and will sell worldwide, overseas buyers are welcome to bid. TERMS AND CONDITIONS: I require a $750 non-refundable PayPal deposit immediately upon auction's end. Once the funds clear, we will forward you the title and the 1972 Volkswagen Westfalia VW Bus will be released to the new owner. The final payment MUST be verified and cleared by our bank prior to releasing the truck. Please, do not bid if you are not a serious buyer and do not have funds readily available. As a bidder, you are urged to inspect and/or ask any questions prior to making a bid. 2016 VW GTI Clubsport is a new breed of forbidden fruit
Wed, Sep 16 2015And this, friends, is the closest we'll ever get to the Volkswagen GTI Clubsport. As we were sad to report, this middle child between the standard GTI and the high-performance Golf R will not be coming to our shores, no matter how much we beg and plead. For those that need a refresher, the Clubsport was inspired by a concept originally shown at Worhtersee earlier this year. Its positioning means it's up on power there are 261 (probably underrated) horsepower in this compact Β although mum's the word on any upgrades to the suspension. As we previously noted, the extra 51 hp over stock will get the mid-level hot hatch to 60 in just 5.9 seconds, if you opt for the dual-clutch automatic, or an even six seconds with the manual trans. Loathe as we are to admit it, aside from the extra horsepower, most of the stuff about the Clubsport appears to be aesthetic. The body kit is all new and significantly more aggressive than the what's found on the GTI, while new 18-inch wheels are standard, although 19s can be optioned. Also larger, the twin chrome exhaust tips. In the cabin, there are far more aggressive sport seats, which are quite simply too cool to be sold in the US (just kidding, it's probably some silly federal regulation). We just had to mosey on down to the Volkswagen stand and check out the new GTI Clubsport. You can view all of our shots of the new hatch up top. Related Video:
Volkswagen caught testing hotter Golf R 400
Wed, May 20 2015We're getting closer, folks. Last we heard, Volkswagen gave its super-hot Golf R 400 the green light for production. And before that, we were told that if the car got the go-ahead, it would be offered in the United States. So here we are, with a fresh set of spy shots showing what we believe to be the R 400 out testing. Here's one dream that might just be coming true. The prototype seen here sports bigger brakes, different wheels, very low-profile tires, a front lip spoiler, and a wing around back that last bit looks to be borrowed from the GTI Clubsport. It's not nearly as outrageous-looking as the original R 400 concept, but that's okay with us. Volkswagen's production hot hatches have always been pretty subtle. We love a good sleeper. Under the hood, expect a turbocharged powertrain tuned up to over 400 horsepower. It'll be mated to a dual-clutch transmission and 4Motion all-wheel drive Β two parts of the current Golf R package that work very, very well. There's no telling exactly when we'll see the production Golf R 400, assuming it's actually, really, finally happening. All we can do now is wait. And salivate.
Audi CEO's Dieselgate arrest threatens fragile truce among VW stakeholders
Tue, Jun 19 2018FRANKFURT The arrest and detention of Audi's chief executive forces Volkswagen Group's competing stakeholders to renegotiate the delicate balance of power that has helped keep Audi CEO Rupert Stadler in office. Volkswagen's directors are discussing how to run Audi, its most profitable division, following the arrest of the brand's long-time boss on Monday as part of Germany's investigations into the carmaker's emissions cheating scandal. The supervisory board of Audi, meanwhile, has suspended Stadler and appointed Dutchman Bram Schot as an interim replacement, a source familiar with the matter said on Tuesday. Schot joined the Volkswagen Group in 2011 after having worked as president and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Italia. He has been Audi's board member for sales and marketing since last September. The discussions risk reigniting tensions among VW's controlling Piech and Porsche families, its powerful labor representatives and its home region of Lower Saxony. VW has insisted the development of illegal software, also known as "defeat devices," installed in millions of cars was the work of low-level employees, and that no management board members were involved. U.S. prosecutors have challenged this by indicting VW's former chief executive Martin Winterkorn. Stadler's arrest raises further questions. Audi and VW said on Monday that Stadler was presumed innocent unless proved otherwise. Munich prosecutors detained Stadler to prevent him from obstructing a probe into Audi's emissions cheating, they said on Monday. Stadler is being investigated for suspected fraud and false advertising. Here are the main factors deciding the fate of Audi. Background: Audi's role in Dieselgate Volkswagen Group was plunged into crisis in 2015 after U.S. regulators found Europe's biggest carmaker had equipped cars with software to cheat emissions tests on diesel engines. The technique of using software to detect a pollution test procedure, and to increase the effectiveness of emissions filters to mask pollution levels only during tests, was first developed at Audi. "In designing the defeat device, VW engineers borrowed the original concept of the dual-mode, emissions cycle-beating software from Audi," VW said in its plea agreement with U.S. authorities in January 2017, in which the company agreed to pay a $4.3 billion fine to reach a settlement with U.S. regulators.
