Beautiful 1971 Single Cab.  I had "Moose" for about a year or so. When I got him he needed some metal and body work.  I had the metal work done by one person, then had a local company sand blast the entire pick-up (including treasure chest).  I then had it painted green and white by a local painter. The interior seats and door panels are new. The windshield is new with seal. The back window also has a new seal which the glass company reversed but it is totally functional. It has good older tires and new hubcaps. Last week I had the transmission rebuilt and a tune up, valves adjusted, points. plugs and oil. It shifts well but you have to get used to the 1st and 2nd gear as the shifting mechanism is slightly off. You will have no problems once you drive it for a while. The motor compression was strong on all 4 cylinders. The dash is presentable with several age cracks. The treasure chest is also painted green. The body is in great shape. There are some waves in the gates as the prior owner used it to transport wood.  There is a slight oil leak like most of the VWs I've owned. The driver side turn signal bulb holder needs to be replaced but the signal works. Wiper, horn, turn signals and lights work. One reverse and another light may be out.  Steering is good as are the shocks. I have new rubber seals for the front doors which the new owner can install. Headliner is in good condition with some scrapes and small tears. Passenger mirror cracked. Missing VW emblem. Not sure where it is and if I find it  will be put on. I have an original owners manual and all records will go with Moose.

Moose is a great vehicle with a large bed and easy fold down gates. If you do not want attention this vehicle is not for you. Usually asked about it every time I park somewhere. Thumbs up are common as well. I was going to use Moose for my antique and collectible business but find it too nice for that, hence the sale.

Will not disclose reserve, NOT interested in trades, no BIN.   Good luck!!!!!

VW to unveil diesel-electric Twin-Up! in Tokyo

Fri, 08 Nov 2013

We've received multiple reports that Volkswagen will be bringing a diesel-electric concept to the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show, set to take place later this month. The car, called the Twin-Up!, is based on the Up! city car, with some sources claiming this is a thinly veiled concept that will eventually enter production.
According to Automotive News Europe, the Twin-Up! will reportedly return 214 miles per gallon on the US cycle by combining an 800-cc, two-cylinder diesel and an electric motor. It will also boast plug-in capabilities, and will be able to cover 30 miles on electric power alone.
Autocar has a more complete picture of the Twin-Up!'s powertrain, though, claiming it's a modified version of the hybrid system found in the Volkswagen XL1. The Twin-Up! will get a more potent, 47-horsepower electric motor to the XL1's 27-hp unit, but will retain that car's 47-hp turbodiesel. The battery pack will also grow, from 5.5 kilowatt hours to 8.6 kWh. Both of these increases are necessary due to the increased weight of the Twin-Up! - it's some 900 pounds heavier than an XL1.

2013 Volkswagen Beetle Turbo Convertible

Wed, 10 Apr 2013

Less Flower, More Power
Pardon our political incorrectness for a moment, but the Volkswagen New Beetle was, undeniably, a "chick car." There was almost nothing that the New Beetle offered to enthusiasts (of either gender), and by the end of its run, VW had even stripped all of the exciting engines from the car's lineup. Looking to resurrect some of the excitement behind the Beetle, the third generation of the iconic car ditched the cuteness when the coupe debuted for 2012, and now the 2013 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible aims to show how much fun drivers can have without a top.
Celebrating almost six and a half decades of the Beetle convertible, Volkswagen is offering a trio of distinct special editions that celebrate three of the car's most popular decades (the '50s, '60s and '70s), but as one of the unofficial cars of the 1960s, it would almost be a crime not to test this version, right? Besides, this is also the only special edition to get the turbocharged engine. While our first drive of the 2013 Beetle Convertible was in the fuel-miser TDI variation, our two-week romp in the 2013 Beetle Convertible '60s Edition came just as peak convertible weather was kicking off down in Florida.

VW readying CC Shooting Brake?

Mon, 11 Feb 2013

This was bound to happen. Volkswagen's relentless drive for big volume has the brand mining seemingly every niche it can find for additional sales worldwide. And with its CLS Shooting Brake, fellow countryman Mercedes-Benz has already shown that a wagon based off of a "four-door coupe" can look dead sexy and command extra dollars. So it follows that the Volkswagen CC (whose existence is all but directly attributable to the success of the original CLS sedan) will also get a load-lugging variant. That's according to the UK's Autocar, which notes that the five-door will come in the CC's next generation.
According to the report, the next CC will be available in front and all-wheel drive variants with the usual assortment of gas and diesel four-cylinders found in the Wolfsburg empire, with the possibility of a gas plug-in hybrid model, too. The rakish estate will ride atop VW's MQB architecture, a shorter variant of which is also found underneath the new Golf. The scalable chassis is set to spread like kudzu throughout the company's lineup, but the CC probably won't happen until after the launch of the next European-market Passat in 2015.
Will we get it in North America? Hard to say. Volkswagen sells the standard CC saloon here, but not in particularly large numbers, and when the company moved to a North American-specific Passat, it dumped the wagon variant. The traditional VW estate apparently continues to pick up sales momentum abroad, however, making the CC Shooting Brake a seemingly natural fit for buyers who still want the utility of a two-box form but can afford to sacrifice a bit of cargo room in the name of style.
