Today we are offering for your consideration on this 1971 Volkswagen Bus Vanagon Westfalia Camper. Let's let the pictures do the talking on this CLASSIC BUS. This van is 42 years old and look brand new! I bought this camper about 9 years ago. It was purchased in Germany by a Navy Sailor. He used it there and then in Japan while serving. He then had it shipped back to the Texas area to use. I have used it on summer nice days and an occasional shore trip. So great to have the top up, under the stars, with the pines in the summer wind. It runs like a top and had it up to 70 or 75 in the highway. The body has NO noticeable scratches or dings/dents. I am very fussy. The paint is somewhat original but some panels have been professionally done. NO BONDO and the color matches perfect. The tires are very good and new shocks. Starts up every time and runs smooth. Chrome is nice too. The top camper was replaced at some time before I bought it. All interior is excellent with no cuts, marks, or damage either. Floor is original and also no messed with like many I have seen. I have to say the van is very mint and original. YOU WILL NOT FIND A CLEANER 1971 WESTFALIA on Ebay. I paid $20,000 grand for it years ago. OK, it dose have an aftermarket Alpine am/fm CD player with 2 speakers mounted flush in wood headliner. All interior door cabinets are fine. Closet door has mirror on back from factory. Van comes with the original tool kit under passenger seat. It also has the hammock that opens when top is up, (we called the condo), and fold out baby cloth hammock that goes from inside windshield to back of seat area. We never used either of these hammocks. I don't think you will find any surprises and I want to state full disclosure. Here's the only things we could find that need minor attention. When going over a big bump the front springs make a type of slight noise. Like they need to be greased. I had fitting greased and still heard the noise. This only happens when it's a large bump. I lived with it because it was minor, has been there all the time I owned it, and no mechanic could fine anything wrong. In fact I had the van fully check just last summer before a 2 day outing and she's fine. Very dependable. One back curtain hold back needs to be replace. The door under sink stop plastic needs to be replace. Sink pump is all there but doesn't work. These are minor things but I am stating all I know. This van has been a lot of fun and only costed me $235 a year to insure for 20 grand replacement value. Also classic registration plates with no fee. This baby, with just a little TLC is almost a show car and will turn every head. People love that VW horn. I hope the buyer has as much fun as we have had with it. Title is clear and I have it. Buyer takes full responsibility to ship transport. If you are a local buyer just email. If you have to ship I will work with your shipper to help it go smooth. We are a guitar shop and this VW looked great in the driveway. Everyone stop just to look. Included is a full new type cover and tent off of sliding door I think factory. Good luck on the auction and thanks for looking. No returns at all unless item is different from description.

NO RETURNS unless add was misrepresented. Check our feedback rate and bid with confidence. Good luck and thank you for looking at our auctions. No smoking in this van since I owned it. The auto you are looking at is the one you will receive.

VW Golf GTD wagon makes us swoon ahead of Geneva reveal

Thu, Jan 29 2015

The European market is just crammed with power wagons we can't get our hands on: big ones like the Audi RS6 Avant and Jaguar XFR-S Sportbrake, but also little ones like the new Mercedes CLA45 AMG Shooting Brake, Skoda Octavia RS and Seat Leon ST Cupra. Now there'll be one more, and as you might have guessed, it comes from the Volkswagen Group. At the upcoming Geneva Motor Show, VW will present the new Golf GTD Variant. And if you're wondering what it's all about, it's all right there in the name: those three letters tell us it's a performance diesel, and the Variant name tells us it's a wagon (which we'd more readily recognize as the SportWagen on this side of the Atlantic). So there you have it: a performance-oriented diesel wagon, but not one we're never likely to see on American roads. If you ever did see one up close, though, you'd find a 2.0-liter turbodiesel four under the hood with 181 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque – enough to send this nimble oil tanker to 62 in 7.9 seconds, all the while returning over 53 miles per gallon (on the lenient European cycle, anyway). Along with the engine, VW has thrown in other GTD performance-minded bits, including a sports suspension and progressive steering. Visual telltales include unique front and rear bumpers, grilles, 17-inch alloys, blacked-out roof rails, smoked taillight lenses and an interior with plaid sports seats, stainless steel pedals... the works. European buyers will be able to enjoy all this and more while hauling all their stuff down the Autobahn, passing gas station after gas station in oil-burning bliss. World premiere of the new Golf GTD Variant - The perfect all-round package: sporty, economical, comfortable and spacious - Launch set for Geneva Motor Show Since 1982 Volkswagen's GTD logo has stood for Gran Turismo Diesel, with its promise of sporty yet economical motoring. Now for the first time, the GTD initials grace the Golf Variant, which like the Golf GTD, boasts the 184 PS (135 kW) TDI engine. The new Golf GTD Variant is set for its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show, and is available to order as of now at a price of 31,975 euros. The Golf GTD Variant* is excellently placed to establish itself as an iconic long-distance cruiser.
