1969 VW Bus Runs Great and shifts smoothly.  I have been driving my wife and kids to camping outings since I purchased it about 3 years ago and at least once a month to work. This has been a really fun and reliable vehicle. It has very little rust, nothing major, and has been kept in the garage.
Maintenance is up to date and has a Marine Hybrid battery less than a year old. It will do 70mph on the highway all day long,  It has its' original am/fm radio but it also has an aftermarket hidden am/fm radio by Custom Autosound (it can accomodate a CD changer if you want to add one).
The interior is in good shape and good working order. The headlights  have been upgraded to High Intensity Halogen. The weatherstripping is in good condition.
I'm including in the sale the blue canopy, the blue table, a plugin cooler that can also heat, and the one-wheeled Allstate Sears trailer. These retro looking trailers rarely come up for sale and are very sought after. Please don't ask if I will sell trailer separately as it will be sold with bus.
The longest trip we have taken was 4hrs each way but I would not hesitate to drive this bus anywhere.
I have a clear notarized Arizona title in hand, odometer read ~155,000. True miles are unknown and unverifiable. I believe engine was rebuilt by previous owner as it does not burn oil and is too strong to be in original state (I purchased the bus at an auction).  I like to be completely honest about what I am selling because I too hate surprises, so here is a list of observations.
1. The vent/heater controls do not have knobs,  however the levers are very easy to move.
2. The floors boards had minor rust pitting and small holes which were treated and repaired.
3. The base where the battery sits has rust holes. A very sturdy metal frame battery holder was made to secure battery down.
4. It no longer has the foldaway top cot, but because my kids were always wanting to sleep up there, I made a board and cut some foam to fit and turn the upper area into a bed.
5. One of the large side windows is missing its screen.
6. The windshield wiper solution sprayer does not work. All components are there, but I think the push button is the culprit.
7. There is a very small dent on bottom part of passenger side door.

8.My kids lost my keys and all I could find was the spare ignition key. A key for the doors/hood will need to be made.

A non refundable $500 deposit is required within 2 days of auction's end. I will accept a deposit through pay pal, but balance must be paid via Certified Check, Wire funds, Money Order or Cash with 7 days.

Price does not include shipping. Purchaser must set up own method of shipping but I could drop her off anywhere around town if needed.
This is a 44 year old bus that is a driver and not a trailer queen, so it is being sold as is with no warranty or guarantee. It is an excellent running VW bus and its condition is as described. Please ask additional questions if you need more information, I'll be happy to write or call back.
Check my feedback rating and bid with confidence.
if you want pics of something specific that I have not posted, I'd be more than happy to take them and send them to you.
Thanks for looking and good luck.
BTW, I really do hate to sell her (my kids are not going to be happy with me that's for sure) but I need the money, which is why the reserve and Buy it Now price have been set low. If this looks like something you have to have, don't hesitate too long, as I honestly doubt it will last until the end of the auction. With that said, I reserve the right to end the auction early.

Hyundai offers discounts to owners done with dirty VW diesels

Sat, Oct 29 2016

For Volkswagen owners that aren't satisfied with getting a payout from the company to make up for dirty emissions, and need to rid themselves of their polluting machines, Hyundai may have a solution. The South Korean automaker is now offering Friends and Family Pricing Plus on new Hyundais for owners of 2.0-liter diesel Volkswagens. A Hyundai spokesperson said it's "an alternative to potentially orphaned diesel owners that will be entering the market for a new vehicle." This discounted pricing plan, as listed by a dealer in Tampa, Florida, starts with the gross dealer invoice price, which includes destination and advertising fees. From there, the buyer gets $1,250 off the purchase price, as well as 3-percent off of the MSRP, excluding destination charges. Also, any current Hyundai incentives can be added to the Friends and Family Pricing discounts. A list of the eligible VW models is below: 2013-2015 Beetle and Beetle convertible 2010-2013 Golf 3-door hatchback 2010-2015 Golf 5-door hatchback 2015 Golf SportWagen 2009-2015 Jetta 2009-2014 Jetta SportWagen 2012-2015 VW Passat 2010-2013, 2015 Audi A3 These incentives certainly make the prospect of a new Hyundai rather attractive, especially for VW owners with that sweet settlement money burning a hole through their wallets. The question is, will owners of these cars find any current Hyundais they like as much as their VWs? Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. There might be a second VW software cheat

Fri, Oct 16 2015

The initial flurry of news about Volkswagen's diesel scandal is just beginning to settle down, but the company is months away from actually having any of the affected vehicles fixed. A stop sale is still in effect on new examples in the US, as well. The remedy process now faces yet another hurdle because the Environmental Protection Agency is requesting more info about other previously undisclosed emissions software on the engines, Bloomberg reports. Separate from the defeat device that evades tests, this new bit of code reportedly helps warm up the engine. However, automakers are supposed to disclose to the EPA any software that can affect emissions. The tech isn't necessarily against the law, but the regulatory agency needs to know about it during evaluations. The company didn't reveal this system until applying for certification on the latest TDIs. "VW did very recently provide EPA with very preliminary information on an auxiliary emissions control device that VW said was included in one or more model years," EPA spokesperson Nick Conger told Bloomberg. In response to the disclosure, VW took back its application for the diesels until it provided more details to the EPA on the previously undisclosed code. So far, there's no evidence that this code is actually another defeat device, though. Regulators are preparing an onslaught of tests on the revised engine to make sure the German automaker isn't gaming the system again. VW has until November 20 to outline a fix for the diesels to the California Air Resources Board. In response to the scandal, the company is preparing for severe cutbacks to have enough money to pay for all of the expected fines and repairs. It also recently announced plans for a serious electrification push in the near future.

Volkswagen finds CO2 'irregularities' for 800k vehicles

Wed, Nov 4 2015

The latest issue for Volkswagen affects another 800,000 vehicles, and this time its for irregularities in CO2 emissions certifications. VW estimates this issue could cost the company $2.2 billion to fix. The company officially makes no specific mention of which engines are covered, the models they are in, or even where they are located. VW discovered the situation during its ongoing internal investigation, and, according to the automaker, "it was established that the CO2 levels and thus the fuel consumption figures for some models were set too low during the CO2 certification process." Most of the affected vehicles are diesels, and the company is now reaching out to "the responsible type approval agencies" to figure out the next step. While VW isn't officially confirming which models and engines are involved, Automotive News reports that it affects some 2012 and later VW, Audi, Seat, and Skoda models with the company's 1.4-, 1.6-, and 2.0-liter diesel engines, as well as the 1.4-liter ACT gasoline engine. The issue mainly affects vehicles sold in Europe. "The Board of Management of Volkswagen AG deeply regrets this situation and wishes to underscore its determination to systematically continue along the present path of clarification and transparency," CEO Matthias Muller said in the announcement. Volkswagen Group of America spokesperson Jeannine Ginivan was able to provide some further clarification to Autoblog. "This is not related to US-certified vehicles," she said. Clarification moving forward: internal investigations at Volkswagen identify irregularities in CO2 levels Matthias Muller: "Relentless and comprehensive clarification is our only alternative." Around 800,000 Group vehicles could be affected Initial estimate puts economic risks at approximately 2 billion euros The Volkswagen Group is moving forward with the clarification of the diesel issue: during the course of internal investigations irregularities were found when determining type approval CO2 levels. Based on present knowledge around 800,000 vehicles from the Volkswagen Group could be affected. An initial estimate puts the economic risks at approximately two billion euros. The Board of Management of Volkswagen AG will immediately start a dialog with the responsible type approval agencies regarding the consequences of these findings. This should lead to a reliable assessment of the legal, and the subsequent economic consequences of this not yet fully explained issue.
