1962 VW double cab

This is a project DC that I lost interest in.

I went through the wiring harness and interior and exterior lights work.  The front seats are metal spring that I never upholstered and the back is the original rear seat and pedestal.  The engine is a 1600 cc that starts and runs great and no smoke.  I changed the generator to a alternator.  I changed the transmission to a swing axle from a type 3.  Stock 15 rims that were powder coated white and wrapped with Goodyear Eagle GT 195/55R15 front, 195/65R15 rear.  There is rust in battery tray area and both sides of the rocker panels.  The floor pan is pretty decent but the drivers side will need to be changed.  The frame is pretty decent and the engine compartment is in excellent shape.  The front nose is in excellent shape and has never been hit.   The front beam was taken out and adjusters put in the spindles were also taken out and flipped.  The shocks were all replaced with KYB.  The front end has some play but is unknown if it just needs an alignment or a new steering box.  I just put new wood paneling that I cut myself its 1/8 red wood.  I also installed Safari windows.  If I left anything out feel free to ask.  Sorry I won't put my telephone number because last time was a nightmare and a lot of overseas calls.  I will answer any questions posted on Ebay they will go straight to my phone.

Buyer is responsible for pickup or let me know how it will be picked up.

I require a $500.00 deposit through paypal.

Please have money ready at the end of the bid.

Cash or check but it has to clear my bank before I release car and title. No cashers check.

No overseas buyers due to scammers and don't tell me your agent will pay me when its picked up. I've been scammed before and no the tricks.

Volkswagen Cross Up! headed for production after Geneva reveal

Wed, 13 Feb 2013

The last time we saw the Volkswagen Cross Up!, it was sitting out in the snow in prototype form, but the next time we'll see this slightly more rugged version of the diminutive Up! hatchback will be when it makes its production debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month. Looking like a micro-crossover with its raised ground clearance and black cladding, the Cross Up! will be the fourth "Cross" model for VW (after the CrossPolo, CrossGolf and CrossTouran) when it goes on sale this summer in mainland Europe (UK sales remain up in the air and US sales are highly unlikely).
Overall, the styling of the production Cross Up! has stayed fairly true to the 2011 concept car, including the front and rear fascias that offer a more rugged look, stocky 16-inch wheels and roof rack side rails. Inside, this model will get unique interior enhancements such as "Cross Up!" sill plates and an instrument panel available in red, black or silver. Like the regular Up!, the Cross Up! is powered by a 74-horsepower, 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine paired to a five-speed manual transmission, and it doesn't look like all-wheel drive will be part of the picture. For more details on the upcoming Cross Up!, check out VW's press release posted below.

Volkswagen E-Co-Motion Concept brings electric mobility to the commercial set

Wed, 06 Mar 2013

Volkswagen sees a future where the bulk of the world's freight is moved into city centers by train, then offloaded onto a fleet of smaller, light-duty commercial vehicles for final delivery. Those vehicles could wind up looking something like the company's E-Co-Motion Concept that debuted at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. The EV features a modular underfloor drive unit comprised of a battery, motor and gearbox that can be paired with any number of cab and body configurations to suit a buyer's needs, from a refrigerated box to a standard flat bed.
The E-Co-Motion Concept features a rear-mounted electric motor with 113 horsepower and 199 pound-feet of torque. A standard 20 kWh battery pack provides a driving range of up to 62 miles, while 30 kWh and 40 kWh packs could deliver 93 and 124 miles of travel, respectively. Check out the press release below for more information.

Volkswagen throws a Polo-palooza with four new or upgraded models

Wed, 05 Mar 2014

Volkswagen unveiled a parade of new and upgraded Polo models at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, including the Polo TSI BlueMotion, Polo TDI BlueMotion, Polo BlueGT and CrossPolo (pictured above). While they will likely never make an appearance this side of the pond, it is fun to see what European subcompact drivers will be driving later this year.
The new BlueMotion models represent the most efficient petrol and diesel options in their class, according to VW. The BlueMotion TDI offers just 73 horsepower from its diesel engine but gives the equivalent of 76 miles per gallon (US) in the EU test. The BlueMotion TSI brings a little more power with its 88-hp petrol engine and has a combined rating of 57 mpg (US) in the EU cycle.
The Polo BlueGT provides a balance of performance and economy, and for the 2014 model, it gains a 9-horsepower boost to its 1.4-liter turbocharged to give drivers 147 hp at the press of the accelerator. This year's car also has an optional Sport Select suspension with electronically controlled dampers to improve handling a bit. It's still fitted with active cylinder management to use as little gas as possible when cruising.
