2003 VW BEETLE GLS CONVERTIBLE NICE LITTLE CAR!  LOTS OF POWER OPTIONS, WINDOWS, MIRRORS, LOCKS, TRIPTRONIC 6 SPEED  AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION MAKES THIS BABY GREAT ON GAS,  COLD A/C,  AM/FM/CASSETTE/CD CHANGER MONSOON STEREO, VERY NICE LEATHER INTERIOR WITH NO RIPS OR TEARS OR MAJOR STAINS,  ORIGINAL BEETLE RUBBER FLOOR MATS, FACTORY FLOWERS IN VASE FOR THE DASH IN GLOVE BOX! 3 MONTH OLD TOP, ALLOY WHEELS, GOOD TIRES, 150K MILES BUT WOULDN'T KNOW IT TO DRIVE IT, RUNS, RIDES, AND DRIVES GREAT!  JUST HAD THE TIMING BELT AND WATER PUMP REPLACED SO YOU CAN FORGET THAT HASSLE. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON BUT GOES OFF FROM TIME TO TIME, I HAD IT CHECKED AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS EITHER BAD FUEL OR THE FUEL CAP, THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS ALSO ON BUT I DO NOT SEE ANYTHING, COULD BE A SENSOR, ALL AIRBAGS ARE PRESENT AND UNDEPLOYED, SEAT BELTS ALL WORK AS THEY SHOULD. I WOULD NOT BE AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS LITTLE CAR ANYWHERE. IT IS NOT PERFECT, HAS A FEW SCUFFS AND SCRATCHES HERE AND THERE,  WHICH I TRIED TO SHOW IN THE PHOTOS, AS WELL AS THE ISSUES MENTIONED AND THE TOP HAS NOT WORKED CORRECTLY SINCE THE NEW CANVAS WAS INSTALLED 3 MONTHS AGO, I'VE BEEN PUTTING IT UP AND DOWN MANUALLY, WHICH IT'S EASY TO RAISE AND LOWER. FROM LOOKING ONLINE THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH A STICKING SWITCH AND THE TOP DOESN'T KNOW IF IT IS UP OR DOWN SO IT WON'T DO ANYTHING. COULD BE MORE COMPLICATED THAN THAT, BUT THAT'S MY GUESS. THIS CAUSES A 5 to 10 SECOND BEEP WHEN YOU PULL OUT IN THE CAR, ALARMING YOU THAT THE TOP IS NOT LOCKED UP OR DOWN. I PLANNED ON DISCONNECTING THE BEEPER BUT JUST HAVE NOT GOT AROUND TO IT, IT HASN'T ANNOYED ME THAT BAD. THE REAR POWER WINDOWS HAVE NOT WORKED SINCE I'VE OWNED THE CAR, I RAISE AND LOWER THEM MANUALLY, YOU CAN BUY REBUILD KITS FOR THE REGULATORS ON EBAY FOR $35 PER SIDE, NOT SAYING THAT IS WHAT IS WRONG WITH THEM BUT THAT IS MY GUESS, THE REAR WINDOWS COULD ALSO BE CAUSING THE POWER TOP ISSUE. OTHER THAN THE ISSUES MENTIONED YOU WILL NOT FIND ANYTHING ELSE WRONG WITH THIS LITTLE CAR. AS I SAID, I WOULD REALLY DRIVE THE CAR ANYWHERE. IF YOU WANT A FUN LITTLE CONVERTIBLE CAR FOR NOT ALOT OF MONEY DON'T MISS YOUR CHANCE! I HAVE A LOW RESERVE AND A LOW BUY IT NOW PRICE. I HAVE TOLD EVERYTHING I KNOW ABOUT THIS LITTLE CAR BUT PLEASE ASK ANY QUESTIONS PRIOR TO BIDDING AND CHECK MY FEEDBACK, REST ASSURED THAT I TELL IT LIKE IT IS. 100% POSITIVE FEEDBACK.  CAR JUST HAD AN OIL CHANGE AND THERE IS A NEW SET OF CARPETED FLOOR MATS AS WELL AS A NEW SPARE OIL FILTER FOR THE NEXT OIL CHANGE IN THE TRUNK. LIKE NEW FULL SIZE SPARE, JACK, LUGWRENCH ALSO IN TRUNK,  AS WELL AS FACTORY KEY FOR WHEEL LOCKS.

I HAVE A FRIEND IN THE DELIVERY BUSINESS THAT WILL GIVE YOU A FAIR DEAL ON DELIVERING THIS VEHICLE OR FEEL FREE TO PICK IT UP IN PERSON, I MAY EVEN DRIVE IT TO YOU IF YOU COVER EXPENSES AND NOT TOO FAR AWAY, I TRUST IT THAT MUCH! BUT PLEASE ASSUME NOTHING, ASK BEFORE BIDDING FOR DELIVERY FEES IF THAT AFFECTS YOUR PURCHASE.

DEPOSIT THROUGH PAYPAL WITHIN 24 HOURS OF PURCHASE OF CAR, REMAINDER TO BE PAID WITHIN 7 DAYS. PICKUP OR DELIVERY CAN BE ARRANGED ANYTIME AFTER CAR IS PAID FOR IN FULL AND NOT UNTIL THEN.

2015 VW e-Golf coming to ZEV states for $35,445* this November

Mon, Aug 25 2014

Is $6,465 too much to get someone thinking about buying a Nissan Leaf to opt for the Volkswagen e-Golf instead? That's the price difference between the current EV sales champion, which now starts at $28,980, and the just-announced price for the e-Golf, which will sell for $35,445 in the US when it arrives in about ten states (basically, the ZEV states that follow California's lead in zero-emission vehicle rules) this November and will qualify for the federal tax credit of up to $7,500. VW says that the extra money will get you "the most versatile electric vehicle in its class." There is only one trim line, the SEL Premium, which will be the first VW in the US with all-LED headlights. The car's powertrain numbers pretty much match the Nissan Leaf, though. The e-Golf has a 24.2-kWh lithium-ion battery (the Leaf has a 24-kWh pack) and a 115-hp, 199-pound foot electric motor (107 hp,187 lb-ft in the Leaf). The e-Golf's official EPA numbers are not yet available, but VW says it will have an "average range between 70 and 90 miles." The Leaf has an official EPA range of 84 miles. The e-Golf has a better onboard charger – 7.2 kW vs. 3.6 or 6.6, depending on your Leaf's options – and has SAE Combo fast charging capability as standard. VW is also working with 3Degrees to offset all of the emissions "created from production, distribution and charging of the e-Golf for up to approximately 36,000 miles of driving." VW also announced prices for its lightly facelifted 2015 Jetta today. The base model, the 2.0-liter S with a manual transmission, starts at $17,325 while the top-of-the-line model, the Hybrid SEL Premium, will set you back at least $31,670. The lowest-cost TDI is the S manual, which starts at $21,640 and features VW's new 2.0-liter diesel four. A new limited-edition 1.8 Sport model with a firmer suspension, tinted taillamps and rear spoiler starts at $20,895. All VW prices listed exclude VW's *$820 destination charge and you can find all the details on trim lines in the press releases below.

VW CEO lost his job over buggy software that delayed new models

Mon, Jul 25 2022

It says a lot about the state of the auto industry and where it's going that software problems have cost the CEO of a carmaker his job. Volkswagen ousted Herbert Diess as chief executive officer after severe software-development delays set back the scheduled launch of new Porsches, Audis and Bentleys. This was untenable considering buggy software postponed the debut of VW’s initial rollout of ID models, and customers are still having to drop off their cars at the dealer for updates the company has struggled to make over the air. Sure, Diess also didnÂ’t do enough to make allies and became increasingly isolated due to his hard-nosed leadership style. In his push to transform the company into an electric-vehicle leader, he repeatedly clashed with labor leaders by warning VW was losing out to Tesla and needed to cut thousands of jobs. But failures at the carmakerÂ’s software unit Cariad ultimately eroded DiessÂ’s support from the powerful Porsche and Piech family that calls the shots. Back in December, VW overhauled its management board, stripping Diess of some responsibilities while tasking him to turn around Cariad. While thereÂ’s been a lot of re-arranging since then, Diess didnÂ’t manage to make the issues go away. Discord at Cariad has pushed back the rollout of important new models including the electric Porsche Macan, a high-volume sport utility vehicle for the division thatÂ’s planning an initial public offering in the fourth quarter. AudiÂ’s new line of Artemis EVs has been delayed by around two years to 2027. And VWÂ’s ultra-luxury brand Bentley may not be able to go all-electric by the end of this decade as planned because of the software issues, Automobilwoche reported earlier this month. “Taking over the ship at Cariad seems to have been DiessÂ’s downfall,” said Matthias Schmidt, an independent auto analyst based in Berlin. VWÂ’s solutions to challenges tend to reflect its status as an industrial behemoth: itÂ’s able to throw lots of money and people at its problems. But modernizing the company for the digital age is going to take bringing in talent and building skillsets outside its traditional zones of expertise. Drivers increasingly demand intuitive user interfaces and services that could create new revenue streams, if done correctly. “Software is the key to the future,” TeslaÂ’s Elon Musk tweeted when one of his followers asked about VW switching CEOs. Diess certainly didnÂ’t lack ambition.

Volkswagen forced to sell stake in Suzuki

Mon, Aug 31 2015

The six-year-long failed marriage between Volkswagen and Suzuki has finally come to an end. Almost. An arbitration panel in London issued its final verdict which, according to a VW press release, cleared Suzuki in terminating the agreement, so VW now needs to get rid of its 19.9-percent share. However, the tribunal's decision said VW performed all of its obligations and Suzuki didn't – the Japanese carmaker should have given VW last-call rights for a delivery of diesel engines, but failed to. The breach opens Suzuki up to damage claim, but so far VW only says it reserves the right to sue. Now that Suzuki has an outside investor to provide funds it meant to get from VW, perhaps both can get back to their reasons for being. The press release is below. Ruling in arbitration proceedings: Cooperation between Volkswagen and Suzuki deemed terminated - Arbitral tribunal confirms Volkswagen met contractual obligations and finds that Suzuki has ordinary right to terminate agreement based on reasonable notice - Volkswagen to dispose of its 19.9 percent stake in Suzuki and expects positive effect on Company's earnings and liquidity from transaction - Arbitrators also find that Suzuki breached its contractual obligations to Volkswagen under the agreement and that Volkswagen has right to claim damages Wolfsburg, 30 August 2015 - An arbitral tribunal in London has announced its ruling in the dispute between Suzuki Motor Corporation and Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft. As a result, cooperation between the two parties is deemed terminated. The arbitrators confirmed that Volkswagen met its contractual obligations under the cooperation agreement and found that Suzuki has terminated the agreement upon reasonable notice. Volkswagen will therefore now dispose of its 19.9 percent stake in Suzuki and expects a positive effect on the Company's earnings and liquidity from the transaction. The arbitral tribunal also confirmed that Suzuki breached its contractual obligations to Volkswagen under the agreement and that Volkswagen has the right to claim damages. "We welcome the clarity created by this ruling. The tribunal rejected Suzuki's claims of breach and found that Volkswagen met its contractual obligations under the cooperation agreement. Nevertheless, the arbitrators found that termination of the cooperation agreement by Suzuki on reasonable notice was valid, and that Volkswagen must dispose of the shares purchased.
