We just got in this super cool 1971 VW Super Beetle from a nice retired gentleman in Las Vegas who is moving and can't take this baby with him.. and that is a shame as he recently spent over $3500 rebuilding just about everything mechanical at the famous BEETLE BARN here in Las Vegas !!! This receipt and a owners manual will go with the car ! He replaced or repaired lots including Master Cylinder, Brake shoes & hoses, Alternator, Distributor, Fuel Pump & gauge, new fuel tank, glove box lock, manifolds, carburetor and charging system. Even installed a killer modern stereo sound system. Much more done than what is listed here. Has recent new Shantung Yellow Paint, New or almost new Grey Seat material and Black door panels, it starts right up and runs strong and true easily at 70 to 75 mph... great steering and brakes... you can't go wrong with this cute little yellow Bug ! The only thing I see is some slight rust specs on the wheels and trim... a little on the door handle... and some oxidation of the original trim... and some fading on top of the Back Taillights. Overall a very nice car for the money !!! Please note, I am a boutique classic car dealer in Nevada, so any Nevada residents who purchase this car to register in Nevada will need to pay a 8.1 % Nevada sales tax and a $99 documentation fee... but I have taken this into consideration in the great-value pricing of this car. VW debuts Get Happy Super Bowl ad

Brace yourself for another tidal wave of Super Bowl commercials. Volkswagen has released its spot for this year's big game. Set to air during the second quarter, the Get Happy spot follows one jubilant office worker as he makes his way through the day, spreading joy wherever he goes. The source of his happiness? A Volkswagen Beetle, of course. Now, if you're wondering why a gaggle of white guys are running around on your screen with Jamaican accents, it will help to know the spot is part of a larger Get Happy campaign featuring Jimmy Cliff.
The first ad in the series featured the artist singing his rendition of "C'Mon, Get Happy," complete with a little help from some notorious unhappy YouTube stars. You can take a look at the new ad before it airs below, along with the complete press release for a little more background.
Volkswagen Golf Variant will make a lovely Jetta SportWagen
Tue, 05 Mar 2013In addition to several other versions of the Golf, Volkswagen is debuting the new Golf Variant (read: wagon) here at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. And if this bigger version of the Golf looks like it might fit right at home in the States, it's because we could possibly see some version of this car as the next-generation Jetta SportWagen here on our shores.
Volkswagen is debuting the Golf Variant with two efficient diesel engines, rated at 110 and 150 horsepower, the smaller of which is good for an impressive 71.3 miles per gallon on the European cycle (when mated to a six-speed manual transmission). The Golf Variant also gets a version of Volkswagen's 4Motion all-wheel-drive system, making it incredibly all-weather capable.
It's a handsome estate, and it wears the new Golf's design language well. We can't say for sure if this car will actually make its way Stateside, but given the fact that the current Jetta SportWagen still rides on the old Golf platform, the odds look to be in our favor.
Volkswagen Group names Paefgen head of classics program
Tue, 04 Oct 2011You may remember the name Franz-Josef Paefgen. Until recently, the German engineer and executive was head of both Bentley and Bugatti. Before that he was chief executive of Audi, after working for several years at Ford. He technically "retired" earlier this year, but like the cars he helped create, an executive like Paefgen could never really retire. So it should come as little surprise that the Volkswagen Group has named Dr. Paefgen head of its Classic program.
In his new capacity, Paefgen will oversee the historic automobile activities of the entire VW Group, including those of Volkswagen, Seat, Skoda, Audi, Lamborghini, and of course Bentley and Bugatti. It strikes us as a suitable semi-retirement for the man responsible in no small part for the Bugatti Veyron and Bentley Mulsanne, to name just two, and who was decorated in 2006 by the ACO as the "Spirit of Le Mans" for his contribution to endurance racing.
