Must sell this cool-looking, great driving 1969 VW Bug -- modified with a German Kit into a "Speedster" style. Body has no dents or rust. Seats have some tears, but the genuine Sheepskins give a good look and feel. Front seats only, with storage behind. Convertible top is in excellent condition. as are carpets. No cracks on dash, and varnished hardwood is removable. Lights and instruments function properly. Always starts; the Dualport 1641 runs strong; and the suspension is solid with no rattles. Dual-dual exhaust sounds just right. Doesn't burn oil and drips just a few small spots in a week. One person can handle the convertible up-down as well as the boot cover. Some have turned these into "rat-rods" and although this vehicle could be tricked that way, it's so clean that the best presentation is still a "speedster" for handling highways, back roads and cruising beach streets. I'm 72 and down-sizing my life, but whenever I have taken out this unique classic, I have felt like age eighteen and shooting "American Graffiti" for George Lucas. Everyone is amazed and wants to know the story of this rare cruiser.

VW may make Bentley a subsidiary of Audi

FRANKFURT — Volkswagen plans to make British luxury carmaker Bentley a subsidiary of its Audi division as it seeks economies of scale among its top-end brands, German trade publication Automobilwoche reported. Bentley, for now overseen by the head of VW's Porsche business, Oliver Blume, will from next year be part of Audi, where VW group Chief Executive Herbert Diess believes it has more potential, Automobilwoche cited company sources as saying. Synergies could include using Audi technology for a new Bentley SUV, it added. Volkswagen, which declined to comment on the report, is reviewing the future of its high-performance brands Lamborghini, Bugatti and Ducati motorcycles as part of broader quest for more economies of scale as it shifts to mass producing electric cars. LG Chem's batteries for the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid minivan will be the Korean company's first time engineering and manufacturing a complete battery pack in Michigan for a volume production North American plug-in hybrid. The packs include lithium-ion cells, electronics and control units. The batteries were engineered at LG Chem's Troy, Michigan facility, and will be built at the company's Holland, Michigan plant. "Our experience with entire battery packs, including cell design and manufacturing capability, as well as our expertise in vehicle integration, makes us the ideal battery supplier for the Pacifica Hybrid," says LGCPI CEO Denise Gray. "We believe our technical strengths, engineering and manufacturing expertise, position us as a leading battery and control system provider for electric vehicles today and in the future." Read more at Green Car Congress. Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles will debut its Caddy TGI BlueMotion van at the Geneva Motor Show. The van, which is suited to family, taxi or city delivery use, can run on CNG or bio-natural gas in addition to gasoline. It also features a six-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission Â– a first in its class. The multiple high-pressure tanks for compressed gas are located under the floor, preserving all the Caddy's precious cargo space. A TGI version of the Caddy Alltrack will also be available, initially with a six-speed manual transmission, with the DSG option arriving in the middle of 2016.
