Heres the problem. The car has been under construction for many years and title is not current. If car sells, I will have title ready in about 30 days, my guarantee. I drove car from 1979 to 1995, then parked it so it could be customized. 20 years later, instead of enjoying it, I have to sell it. I am trailering it to Farmington, NC Bug Bash on October 20th if you want to see it in person.
Could you drive this car as it sits, Yes.  However it needs painting (already block sanded and ready for paint), it needs a Cloth or stayfast or Vinyl top to cover the restored frames. It needs the window frames plated, already prepped for pro plating, no holes or pits. It needs glass cut for frames, I'm using lexan at the moment (correct .187 thick). I drove car this week around my block and made a 250MB video but could your 16 year old hop in and head to Mcdonalds?,,, Probably not. Its a pro built but not completed car.

$1000.00 deposit gets the title work in progress if you want to purchase car at Farmington, NC on the 20th.
I have over 30k invested, inexperienced folks cant see it, but experienced VW folks should be able to tell the quality.
Finish is in Primer and is ready to paint. Car has been test drove about 40 miles on clear days around my block. The bodywork was prepped for a gloss black paint job so everything had/has to be perfectly straight.
I have EVERY receipt and 98% of EVERY component Box label. Not trying to hide anything. If you see an issue, let me know. You can see pics of this car all over the web. On samba I am "vaughn bros." , and on facebook I am "Andy Vaughn" . Do a search to fill in the blanks I may have left out. This car was built to sit right and look mean, period.

***A Note From The Body And Paint Shop:  "This VW is Blocksanded every square inch. This means inside Hood & Trunk Lid & Doors, Door Jambs etc. Started with a rust free body, changed the aprons and fenders & trunk & hood. Chopped with working windows & top. The primer on it now is the last 6 coats of K-36 PPG Primer. All PPG Products in this car, no money spared. Was to be Black. Ready to Dry Block with 360 & Paint, Period. Try to find a flaw! I have been restoring VW's and others since 1978. Cory Vaughn" ***

Shanghai debuts, Jeep's new Rubicon anniversary rigs | Autoblog Podcast # 777

Fri, Apr 21 2023

In this episode of the Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Associate Editor Byron Hurd for a recap of the past week's worldwide debuts along with some updates from their recent adventures. They start off discussing the rumors of a new Ford Mustang Raptor and what that means in the context of previous rumors of a Corvette SUV. Then it's time to talk Shanghai, where Polestar, Buick, Volkswagen, Porsche and Lincoln all had big reveals. After that, they segue to Byron's trip to Moab for the 2023 Easter Jeep Safari preview where he drove the AEV Level II Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 20th Anniversary Edition. From there, they reminisce about Mustangs in a nod to the nameplate's 59th anniversary, after which they stick to the theme with a sub-$15,000 RWD used-car discussion. Is there anything worth buying in this price bracket in today's economy? Small 3-row crossover SUVs specifications compared on paper

Thu, May 10 2018

There's no shortage of three-row vehicles on the market for carrying seven or more people and their stuff wherever they all need to go. Just about every car company has at least one large crossover or traditional SUV with three rows of seats, and there are still plenty of minivans to pick from. But most of these vehicles are large, pricey, and frequently thirsty. Fortunately, there are still a handful of smaller crossovers that deliver 7-passenger capability in a smaller, cheaper package. We've gathered four of the small three-row set here to compare them based on space, power, fuel economy, pricing, and more. They include the very old Dodge Journey, the slightly less old Mitsubishi Outlander and Kia Sorento, and the relatively new Volkswagen Tiguan. You can see the raw numbers in the chart below, followed by a more detailed breakdown and some notes on how we like each of these vehicles. For in-depth opinions on the vehicles, be sure to check out our full reviews, and if you want to compare these with other vehicles, try out our comparison tools. Engines, transmissions and performance Interestingly, three of the four crossovers here utilize similar engines for their four-cylinder offerings. The Dodge, Kia and Mitsubishi all feature naturally aspirated 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines. Only the Volkswagen Tiguan chooses turbocharging and a smaller 2.0-liter displacement. But because of its turbocharger, the Tiguan's four-cylinder is easily the most potent, making a healthy 221 pound-feet of torque, which is more than 40 more than the Sorento, the crossover with the next most torque. The VW is also second-most powerful, just one horse behind the Sorento. The Outlander is the least powerful in the four-cylinder class. The Journey is only barely better, but it will probably feel as slow or worse thanks to its ancient 4-speed automatic. The four-cylinder Sorento and Outlander each have 6-speed automatic transmissions, and the VW has an 8-speed. The Sorento with a V6 has an 8-speed, too. View 17 Photos Moving up to the V6 class, the Outlander is once again at the bottom. It actually makes less torque than the turbo VW Tiguan. The Journey and Sorento are almost perfectly matched. The Journey makes a bit more torque; the Sorento makes a bit more power. The Journey also gets upgraded to a 6-speed automatic. Another powertrain consideration to bare in mind is whether all-wheel-drive is necessary.

Volkswagen Cross Up! aimed at rugged lifestyle folks, complete with plastic cladding

Wed, 06 Mar 2013

If you thought there was nothing wrong with the Volkswagen Up! that a little body cladding wouldn't fix, you're in luck. VW has officially pulled the wraps off the production version of the Cross Up!, and its wheel arches and rocker panels are full of the black plastic cladding you've been yearning for.
In addition to the "particularly rugged design and tough, lifestyle qualities" that the cladding exudes, VeeDub has also seen fit to put its Cross Up! on a new set of 16-inch alloy wheels clad in 185/50-series tires. Inside, there are new kick plates to go along with a dash pad that can be had in red, black or silver.
All that cladding must equal additional off-road readiness, right? Well, sure... just so long as you're fine with the same 75-horsepower three-cylinder engine that all other Up! models also feature, along with a five-speed manual transmission sending power to the front wheels, again, just like all other Up! models. The Cross Up! appears to have a taller ride height than other models, but we haven't been able to find out what - if any - changes have been made.
