4 Car Lot 1966 & 1970 Volkswagen Bug, 1974 Vw Super Beetle, 1971 Squareback on 2040-cars
White City, Oregon, United States
Please read the entire description and terms of sale before buying or asking questions.
Here we have four project cars for sale in one lot. #1: 1966 VW Bug...red. Reluctantly I'm putting this car up for sale. I was planning on building this car, but I have many projects going on right now. It's a good solid project worthy of building. The body is fairly straight and solid. Nice heater channels, nice A-pillars and even the floor pans are good. It has a some body filler coming off on the passenger rear quarter and a small amount of wrinkling on the RH side of the front apron area...which would be hidden by a fender or a pretty easy fix. I remember looking at the floors last year and they were pretty nice other than surface rust. Obviously missing parts and has NO engine. Don't know if the brakes work. No title unless it's in the car somewhere, the keys are in the ignition. (I may consider taking this car out of the lot.) #2: 1970 VW Bug...yellow. It's a good solid project worthy of building. The body is pretty straight and solid. This car is pretty complete with all seats. Has an IRS transmission still in the car. Obviously missing some parts and has NO engine. I don't know if the brakes work. I think it will need some floor pan work, but it's a west coast car, so it's simple sheet metal. It's been sitting next to a tree, so that's why it looks dirty, it has a nice body. I have a clear Oregon title and the key here with me. #3: 1974 VW Super Beetle...orange. Good solid dry body. Missing engine, trans and other parts. I don't know if the brakes work. Assume it needs floor pan work, but it's a west coast car, so it's probably just simple sheet metal. There is no title or key that I know of, unless they are in the car. #4: 1971 VW Automatic Square Back. It's a worthy project. The body is fairly straight and solid. The car is pretty complete minus the steering wheel and carburetors. It has an engine and automatic trans in it. I do not know their condition, but my dad did say that the engine would turn by hand. I don't know if the brakes work. It will need floor pan work as the floors are bad, but it's a west coast car, so it's probably just simple sheet metal. I have the keys here with me. There is no title that I know of unless it's in the car. Assume the tires will be flat on all these cars when you get there and assume you will have to load them your self. If you are having a transport truck pick them up, I can see about getting someone to air up the tires. There is a bend on the driveway that won't accommodate a full car carrier. Maybe a two or three car carrier at the most will make the corner. I'm not going to state all the obvious as these are all project cars. I took all these pics about a month ago. I can send a bill of sale for all the cars or you can use this listing for your bill of sale and handle that on your own. I prefer to sell all four together as I want to keep it simple as possible. I may keep the 66 and break them up if they are here after this listing. I have two 67 bugs here in Ca. to use for what ever parts I need to mostly complete the 66. I will sell them or part them out once the 66 is gone. Terms of sale: These cars are located on my Grandfathers property in Southern Oregon in White City / Sams Valley (Medford area). A $500. NON refundable Pay Pal deposit is due immediately after winning this listing. I'm located in Capitola Ca 95010. The full balance is due in my hand within three days of listing end. I will accept cash in person to me in Capitola Ca., US Postal money orders sent to me in Capitola Ca. or I will accept bank deposit or wire transfer (add $30.). If you need to over night the payment to get it here on time, please do so. NO other forms of payment are being accepted. My Grandfather runs a company and is very busy, he doesn't have the time to show cars. You will need to make your decision based on the pictures and information I have provided. By winning this listing you are accepting these used project vehicles in their current condition regardless of all their faults or imperfections, title or registration status etc. Buyer is responsible for setting up transporting these cars and all costs involved. The cars are sold as is where is with no warranty of any kind. Your payment is non refundable, there will be no buy backs, no refunds partial or full and these cars are non returnable. By winning these cars on eBay you acknowledge you understand and agree to all my terms. This is a legal binding contract and you will be obligated to follow through with this purchase. If you have any further questions, please ask. Thanks |

VW confirms development of 10-speed dual clutch, 134-hp/liter diesel
Fri, 26 Apr 2013Each year, the Vienna International Motor Symposium showcases some of the up-and-coming technologies automakers are engineering for the use in passenger cars, and Volkswagen AG CEO Martin Winterkorn revealed some big developments VW is working on for its future products. Winterkorn discussed a multi-faceted approach that VW is looking to reduce its fleet fuel consumption and exhaust emissions.
Some of the bigger news he discussed included a "high-performance" diesel engine that will produce 134 horsepower per liter and a 10-speed DSG automatic transmission. While no specific applications were mentioned, we can only hope this is for the Audi R4 we keep hearing about.
Another topic he touched on that caused us to perk up our ears was had to do with VW's plug-in hybrid technology. While we know the PHEV versions of the Audi A3 and Porsche Panamera are on the way, Winterkorn also said that these two models will be followed up by Golf, Passat, Audi A6 and Porsche Cayenne plug-in models. Scroll down for a press release highlighting the automaker's future fuel-saving initiatives.
1000-hp Mk1 VW Golf is terrifyingly cool
Tue, 04 Jun 2013There are plenty of things to love about the Mk1 Volkswgen Golf. The machine's horsepower isn't one of them. From the factory, the little hatch cranked a breathy 112 horsepower from the most robust form of its 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine. Boba motoring, however, has taken that figure and multiplied it by a factor of nearly 10. If 1,000 horsepower sounds terrifying in a machine with a wheelbase of just 94.5 inches, it should. A massive Garrett GTX4202R turbo force-feeds the little mill through a tweaked 16-valve KR head. The crew calls the beast the 16Vampir, and we think that's fitting.
Of course, we'd wager you quit reading right about the time you set your eyes on that headline. Those of you who've stuck around this long can point yourselves below to see the maniacal creation in action. You won't be disappointed.
2013 Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid
Tue, 12 Feb 2013More Fun Than A Prius, Less Sensible Than A TDI
Let's have some fun, and do some math. We're talking pretty rudimentary stuff, multiplication and division, to figure out if the upcoming Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid can make a baseline case for itself against two very strong competitors in this segment. The competitors in question, at least for now, are two more Jettas: the diesel-drinking TDI and the fit-for-the-masses SE with VW's long-serving 2.5-liter engine.
To keep the equations clean and simple (hey, we're writers), we'll calculate based on the most flattering EPA miles per gallon stat from highway driving for all cars, assume a healthy 20,000 miles driven per year, and factor in today's average cost for the respective fuels these three require: diesel (TDI), regular (SE) and premium (Hybrid). We'll also start with the base prices for all models.
