You are looking at a 1971 VW Beetle that is in good condition as you can see by the picks. This one even has the pop out back windows for ventilation. The car came from Calif ( which explains for the pan and body being in such good shape as far as rust ) and was put in primer before I got it. There has been quite a bit done to this bug like the old turning signals have been removed an updated, did a nice job on repair on front ones and installed a bumper with turning signals and the rear replaced with tear-drop led. It has the mag wheels that looks very good on it but the tires on the front need to be replaced and the rear ones do not match. I was told that the eng was possibly a 1600 dual port with dual Weber carbs and it does really run. I don"t know much about trans other than its a 4 sp with an up-dated custom shifter. new brake shoes all around with new drums on front, and air shocks on front. This car has aluminum running boards, cherry steering wheel and am/fm/cd with 4 speakers. The dash pad has the normal wear and cracks which can be replaced very easily, the front seats are custom and not original but both f & r seats have been recovered with door panels done to match and carpet was replaced at the sme time and the headliner is in good shape. This bug would take very little to make it sharp with all the main things already done. Its a cool bug. If you have questions email me Thanks for looking Buyer responsible for shipping. Cash or cashier check accepted

VW Golf R 400 reportedly green-lit (again)
Sun, Apr 26 2015After speaking to Volkswagen powertrain boss Dr. Heinz-Jakob Neusser at the 2015 New York International Auto Show, we uncovered that the Volkswagen Golf R 400 would be sold in the United States... if it ever made it to production at all, that is. That prerequisite looks like it's about to be fulfilled, as the same good doctor that said the super-powered GTI would come to the US has confirmed to Car that development is currently underway. This follows up on reports from late 2014 that the 400-horsepower car would make production. "We have the Golf more sporty than ever before, since we soon will have the Golf R 400 – we will do this car," Neusser told Car. "We are in fact in development of it right now." That is, we think you'll agree, splendid news. Of course, it also begs the question of when the new car will arrive. According to Car, it'll be just "a few short months," indicating that the Frankfurt Motor Show will likely host the Golf R 400's debut later this year. Whether that proves correct, though, likely won't be clear until later this summer.
VW TDI ads star four 'salty' ladies and a stinky dog named Tuna
Sun, Mar 22 2015The Kim Kardashian sex tape just keeps on giving: it brought the Three Golden Sisters to our attention, and now Volkswagen has used their comedic, Bronx grandmother schtick to promote its TDI engines. The ads are another round in the fight against the malicious perceptions of diesel – like how they're slow and loud (they aren't), that it's hard to find a station to refill (it isn't), and that they stink (they don't). Tanner Foust makes an appearance in one spot to dispel the notion of sluggishness, and Tuna the Dastardly Dog proves that she (or he?) can outstink a diesel any day. You'll find Tuna in the ad above, the other three ads are below. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Audi exec suspended over diesel scandal
Mon, Sep 19 2016So far, just one lower-level employee has plead guilty in the ongoing VW diesel scandal. Up high, the VW CEO when the scandal broke, Martin Winterkorn, resigned right after the news came out. Other executives have also quit or been suspended as well. Today, we learn that one more executive is feeling the heat a year into the scandal. Stefan Knirsch, the head of technical development at Audi and Audi board member, is going to be suspended from his position this week because of his ties to the technology that VW Group used to cheat emissions tests. The German newspaper Bild Am Sonntag reports that Knirsch not only knew that the cheating software existed but also lied about it under oath. Knirsch previously worked at Porsche and then Audi's electrification division. He left Audi's EV efforts behind in early 2015.
