1968 Beetle Sedan Non running, engine is out of the car but is included in the sale. it is a 1600 cc single port engine. I do not believe it is original to the car and the engine is in non running order and would need a rebuild car is complete and a rolling chassis. the VW has been off the road several years as it is still running bias ply tires. I would not suggest you bring a tow bar to take home although I did tow bar it home five miles car has a complete interior and is in decent shape, right door panel is off the car but included car has had some pan repair, repairs were screwed in, not welded. there is some rust present in the RR quarter above the running board and some bubbles same location on left rear the history I have is the car was purchased at a yard sale 4 years ago in the condition I found it. no work was done after it was brought home. the previous owner before that was local but no know time of ownership. it is a project but not much would be needed to bring this classic back on the road. would be a good patina ride or basis for restoration and custom. car is being sold on bill of sale only, no title email with any questions. My mission is to find classic VW's and bring them out of the sheds, back yards and fields of the world and put them into folks hand that can bring them back to life |

European new car sales drop nearly 8% in first half of 2019
Thu, Jul 18 2019PARIS — European car sales dropped 7.9% in June, led by bigger declines for Nissan, Volvo and Fiat Chrysler (FCA), according to industry data published on Wednesday. Registrations fell to 1.49 million cars last month from 1.62 million a year earlier across the European Union and EFTA countries, the Brussels-based Association of European Carmakers said in a statement. Calendar effects resulted in two fewer sales days in most markets, accentuating the decline. Registrations for the first half closed 3.1% lower, ACEA said. For European carmakers, weakening demand at home compounds the pressure from a sharper contraction in China and emerging markets that may yet bring more profit warnings. NissanÂ’s aging model lineup contributed to a 26.6% June sales slump while Volvo Cars, owned by ChinaÂ’s Geely, saw deliveries tumble 21.7%. Registrations also fell 13.5% last month at FCA, 10.1% at BMW, 9.6% at Volkswagen Group and 8.2% for both Mercedes parent Daimler and FranceÂ’s PSA Group. The Peugeot makerÂ’s domestic rival Renault suffered less, posting a 3.9% decline. By the Numbers BMW Chrysler Fiat Nissan Volkswagen Volvo Peugeot Renault
2016 VW diesels are still 'months' out
Fri, Oct 9 2015Many 2016 model year vehicles are already for sale at dealers in the US but none of them have Volkswagen's 2.0-liter TDI. Don't expect to see the diesels on lots for several months either. The Environmental Protection Agency is preparing an onslaught of evaluations on the engine to make sure that it doesn't get fooled again, Automotive News reports. Before the new tests can even begin, VW must resubmit the 2016 diesels to the EPA, and the company isn't saying when that might be. The automaker took back the models' previous application after telling the EPA about an undisclosed software feature, according to Automotive News. There was absolutely no evidence that this was another defeat device, but the emissions agency wanted more information about what the tech's effect was. EPA boss Christopher Grundler has been quite clear about not disclosing any details about the new tests. He doesn't want to give automakers a chance to create more defeat devices, and the agency intends to evaluate diesels from other companies with more rigor, too. That process is already beginning in cases like subjecting the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado Duramax to on-road emissions checks. Once the 2016 VW models are certified, the EPA intends to run the same tests on the proposed repairs for the company's earlier diesels. That process could take months, as well, according to Automotive News. VW CEO Matthias Muller recently said that the first recalls likely wouldn't happen until January.
