1967 Volkswagen Beetle Base 1.5l on 2040-cars
Lafayette, Louisiana, United States
I am selling my 1967 VW Convertible Bug. The car runs good. It has a 1600cc bored out to a 1641cc with aftermarket exhaust, 009 distributor, weber 2-barrel carb., and painted engine tin. The car has a beautiful 2 year old red paint job and has no rust anywhere. The pans are new and have been undercoated for protection. The car has a new top, boot cover, car cover, seat and door panels and has the original rubber floor mats. There are however a couple small scratches on the lower front hood and a small dent in the pass. side rear fender. The tires are fairly new with empi 5 spoke wheels and 3 extra " spirit of America " center caps. I also have an extra T-handle shifter. The driver door is missing a couple trim pieces, The headliner will need to be replaced as there are 2 tears near the back window and the wiper motor will need to be changed too as only 1 wiper works. Nothing major, just small things to make car really shine. Over all, the car runs and drives good and will get you anywhere you want. If you have any questions, concerns, comments, please call or text Steven at 337-514-3725. Asking $11,000 or best offer

VW builds 250,000th Passat in Chattanooga in just two years
Sun, 26 May 2013It hasn't been without incident or union organizing drive, but the Volkswagen plant in Chattanooga, TN has built its 250,000 Passat in just a little over two years. The Night Blue Passat TDI with black leather has come just two years and five weeks after the first customer car came off the line on April 18, 2011.
In the last year the plant operated at the 150,000-unit capacity that it was intended for, but the downturn in Passat sales and subsequent worker layoffs mean it will be a challenge to repeat the feat. The plant does have the world's largest solar park, though, and you can't take that away from them.
You'll find the official hand-clapping in the press release below.
Volkswagen CrossBlue Coupe is a green fun-machine we want to drive
Fri, 19 Apr 2013Think back to January's Detroit Auto Show. Those of you that are fans of the Volkswagen brand, impressed with green technology or simply fall into the "diesel geek" category, will almost certainly remember VW's CrossBlue concept with its diesel/electric hybrid powertrain, seating for seven, and somewhat awkward crossover styling. It was an impressive piece of future tech, to be sure, though it left something to be desired in the, well, desirability department.
Here in Shanghai, VW has brought along a CrossBlue Coupe concept that would seem to include most of the goodness of the original, but flavored with more sport and style this time around.
The CrossBlue Coupe makes use of the same electric drive components as the larger three-row concept: two electric motors (front and rear) powered by a 9.8-kWh lithium-ion battery. However, where the original concept made use of a TDI four-cylinder, the Coupe substitutes a 295-horsepower, direct-injection, gasoline-burning V6.
Editors' Choice: Top Five 2013 Geneva Motor Show Debuts
Fri, 08 Mar 2013We've returned from a very busy week in Switzerland, and in going back over all of our 75 stories from the Geneva Motor Show, our editors have gathered up their personal favorite debuts from the European expo.
The wonderful thing about the Geneva show is just how wide of an array of vehicles are on display - everything from funny little one-off EVs to the most exotic of supercars to, well, truly ridiculous displays of coachbuilding. And because of that, this list of our editors' favorites might not be as predictable as you think.
But we don't want to give anything away just yet. Scroll down to have a look at our team's favorites from Geneva.
