32 FORD DASH WITH DAKOTA DIGITAL GAUGES AND BUDNIK STEERING WHEEL, POWER PLANT IS A CB PERFORMANCE 2.0 WITH FUEL INJECTION INCLUDING A 911 SHROUD AND ALTERNATOR. FULLY POLISHED BUILT TRANS, EXTERIOR OF THE CAR IS A DE CHROMED BODY, WITH 57 FRONT FENDERS (INCLUDING MERCEDES HEADLIGHTS). DOOR HANDLES , SEMAPHORES, TAILLIGHT AND DECKLID. HOOD HAS BEEN HAMMERWELDED TO MATCH DECKLID (LOTS OF HOURS), ALL SPRAYED PPG BLACK 2 STAGE. CAR HAS BEEN LOWERED VIA SELECT DROP 5", NARROWED BEAM & SWAY AWAY ADJUSTABLE SPRING PLATE, ROLLING ON 16" BUDNIK'S WITH BFG'S. THIS CAR WAS BUILT "NO EXPENSE SPARED" IN 1999, THEN SOLD AND DRIVEN UP AND DOWN AN EXTENDED DRIVEWAY FOR OVER 10 YEARS. THE ENGINE HAS VERY VERY LITTLE MILEAGE ON IT, IF ANY. AS REPORTED,THE ELDERLY OWNER WAS SIMPLY AFRAID TO DRIVE IT . WHEN I GOT IT I HAD IT SORTED OUT BY A LOCAL PORSCHE EXPERT WHO ALSO MEASURED AND ADJUSTED THE FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM. I RESTORED A 1963 MERCEDES SL TWO YEARS AGO, I KNOW WHAT AN ALL METAL PROJECT LIKE THIS WOULD COST TO BUILD TODAY. YOU WOULD HAVE TO SPENT IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD OF $ 75 000 TO $ 100 000 DOLLARS TO REPLICATE THIS CAR , IF YOU WANTED THIS KIND OF QUALITY. I AM GIVING IT AWAY FOR LESS THEN A QUATER OF THAT AMOUNT ! SO, IF YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING AT , AND YOU ALWAYS WANTED ONE LIKE THIS, GRAB IT. SOME WARNING ; THE PAINT LOOKS WONDERFUL AND HAS SOME IMPERFECTIONS THAT ARE NOT VERY NOTICEABLE. ( VERY FEW NOSES, SMALL CHIPPING) . THERE IS ALMOST NO RUST, APART FROM MINOR SURFACE RUST IN THE FRONT UNDER THE CAR WHERE IT HAS HIT THE GROUND , BECAUSE IT RIDES SO LOW. ONLY 2 OR 3 PARAMETERS ARE WORKING ON THE DAKOTA DIGITAL DASH INSTRUMENTS. CAR COMES WITH THE FULL MAUAL OF THIS DASH AND THE GAUGES NEED TO BE TURNED OR PROGRAMMED IN . THIS CAR HAS A MODIFIED DASH AND FRONT WINDOW WITH NO WIPERS AND ALSO DOES NOT HAVE SIDE WINDOWS. I HAVE MOST OF THE WINDOWS PARTS BUT NOT ALL , AS SEEN IN ONE PHOTO. WHAT IS MISSING IS ONE MAIN SIDE WINDOW AND ONE BACK SIDE WINDOW. (THE FRAME IS THERE) WHAT WINDOW PARTS YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET. IT CANNOT BE ROCKET SCIENCE TO GET THE MISSING WINDOW PARTS FROM WOLFSBURG WEST. I BELIEVE THERE ARE NO MODIFICATIONS ON THE DOORS THAT WOULD PROHIBIT REINSTALLATION OF THE WINDOWS , IF THAT IS WHAT YOU DESIRE. CAR COMES WITH A BIG FOLDER WITH LOTS OF BILLS FROM GENE BERG ETC. I AM SELLING THIS CAR BECAUSE I HAVE TOO MANY PROJECTS AT HAND. I AM NOT GIVING THIS CAR AWAY OTHER THEN TO MY GRANDCHILD. (SORRY) BUT I KNOW THIS IS A MORE THEN FAIR WINTER PRICE. PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS IF YOU HAVE THEM. THERE ARE MANY MORE DETAILED PHOTOS ON OLD BUG COM. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND SEEING THIS CAR BEFORE YOU BUY, SO YOU KNOW WHAT IT IS , UNLESS YOU ARE THE ABSOLUTE BUG NUT AND REALLY UNDERSTAND WHAT THIS IS. IT IS EXCEPTIONAL AND BEAUTIFUL. I WILL ONLY ACCEPT CASH OR CASHIERS CHECK (AFTER CLEARANCE), NO PAY PAL . I NEED A NON REFUNDABLE $ 1000 WITHIN 72 HOURS OF AUCTION CLOSE ! THANK YOU FOR LOOKING |

Volkswagen, Bosch reach diesel settlement worth $1.6 billion
Wed, Feb 1 2017Volkswagen Group of America and automotive parts maker Bosch reached a settlement in which the two companies will pay a combined $1.6 billion because of their roles in the automaker's diesel-emissions scandal. VW, Europe's largest automaker, will pay about $1.2 billion to either repair or buy back vehicles. Bosch said separately that it will pay more than $300 million to owners of diesel-powered Volkswagens, Audis, and Porsches. The settlement stems from emissions issues related to about 78,000 VW-made cars and SUVs with 3.0-liter V6 diesel engines that were sold in North America. VW will recall and repair about 58,000 vehicles made for the 2013-through-2016 model years. The company will also buy back, offer a trade-in credit, or terminate the leases for about 20,000 cars for the model years 2009 through 2012. The older impacted models are the Volkswagen Touareg and Audi Q7, while the newer ones are the Touareg and Q7 as well as Audi's A6, A7, A8, A8L, and Q5 models, and finally the Porsche Cayenne Diesel. Previous reports estimated the payout at closer to $1 billion. The US settlement follows one reached last year between VW and US regulators in regards to VW's 2.0-liter diesel engines. That settlement was estimated to cost VW about $15 billion and impacted owners of about 500,000 vehicles. VW has had a stop-sale on its diesel vehicles in the US since late 2015 after it was discovered that VW installed software in its diesels that allowed those vehicles to cheat emissions-testing systems. VW on Wednesday also reiterated that it would contribute $225 million towards environmental-remediation efforts in the US. Volkswagen of America CEO Hinrich J. Woebcken, in Wednesday's statement, said that "we will continue to work to earn back the trust of all our stakeholders and thank our customers and dealers for their continued patience as this process moves forward." Audi diverting a third of R&D budget to electrification
Tue, Jul 19 2016Companies make promises all the time. We'll do X by Y. The new A will be our biggest seller in B. You know the drill. But it's when an automaker puts its money where its mouth is that we really stand up and take notice. That's precisely what Audi is doing as it attempts to convert 25 percent of its sales to electrified vehicles by 2025. Citing two sources with knowledge of Audi's plans, Reuters reports that around a third of the company's research-and-development budget will go to " electric cars, digital services, and autonomous driving." Of course, shifting that much money over to newer technologies means sacrifices elsewhere – Reuters' sources claim Audi will move money away from combustion engines and reduce country-specific powertrain variants, but the sources wouldn't get more specific. According to Reuters, Audi is 22nd in total sales of hybrids and EVs. That's eight spots behind Mercedes and ten spots behind BMW (not to mention hybrid-happy Lexus). Audi's only electric representatives in the US market are the A3 e-Tron and Q5 Hybrid and things aren't much better in Europe – the company needs to dump buckets of money into expanding its meager lineup to bring up the percentage of EVs it sells. Expect greater detail on Audi's electrification plans very soon – CEO Rupert Stadler will discuss the company's path forward on Wednesday at a closed-door meeting in Munich with over 2,000 managers. It's unlikely all those managers will be able to keep quiet. We'll be listening. Porsche-Piech buy 10% stake in VW's holding company
Tue, 18 Jun 2013In August, 2009, as the scuttled merger of Porsche and Volkswagen had gone bad and Porsche was backed up against the ropes, Porsche Automobil Holding SE (PAHSE) relinquished a ten-percent stake in itself to Qatar Holdings as well as options it held on 17 percent of VW shares. The sale meant that, for the first time since the founding of the company 61 years before, an entity outside the Porsche and Piech families had a say in the running of PAHSE.
Buying that ten-percent stake back returns full ownership to the two families, the holding company's sole possession being ownership of 50.7 percent of VW's common shares. The price paid wasn't disclosed, but at market rates the purchase would be worth close to $1.25 billion. Qatar intends to hold onto the 17-percent stake it has in Volkswagen.
