Tr-6 With 5 Speed Transmission (awesome) on 2040-cars
Scottsdale, Arizona, United States
This is a 1976 car with a great history. The first thing you need to know is it has a salvage title and why. It was clipped and the back left quarter panel hit the center divide on a freeway in Southern California. The insurance company, Hagerty, told me it was insured for so much and the owner declined repair so they had to give it a salvage title to justify the pay out. They said the severity of damage or the lack of it plays no apparent part in the process of title designation according to DMV. I have photos to document the damage. They are included in the listing. I also have history from the previous owner that I will supply if requested. The history on the car is great. The HVDA transmission kit was more than $3000. Then the Toyota 5-spd transmission had to be
bought and installed. The transmission now lets the car at 2500 rpm
rather than 3400 rpm drive at 70 mph. At 70,000 miles the engine was rebuilt for higher performance using new upgrades. All new pistons and rings as well as new performance cam and crank were used. It was done by pro-shop
at a cost of over $10,000. The front and rear bumpers were replaced by earlier model so as to do away with the ugly black rubber on the car. They are slightly pitted and the rear has a couple if dimple that would be straightened before the rechrome. The car has been a California car most of
its life. It was originally owned by a doctor in Maryland. The 2nd
owner was in Southern California and the 3rd in Central California. I
bought it from him. I recently went through some heavy duty medical
issues and it is not comfortable for me to drive it. I am 70 and have
trouble getting in and out. The color is Mello Yellow. The paint was
just re-done a couple of months ago. They took off all of the chrome
and did a great job. The interior has been done and is great as well. The wood dash was
just redone too. I am now finishing hooking up the last of the
wires to the dash, and then I will have the car detailed for sale. I have a
ton of interesting information on the car that adds to its history. Expectations will be exceeded upon close scrutiny. The VIV #CF51914U. If it doesn't meet my minimum, I will put it in the Russo Steel auction here in
Phoenix in January where we are sure it will bring my reserve. |

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack
Sun, 21 Sep 2014Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
