Up for auction is a 1973 Triumph TR-6 with a 4 speed non overdrive transmission. I will make every effort to detail everything about the car so all interested will be fully informed prior to bidding. I'm not a mechanic or a dealer just a guy selling a very nice TR-6. Please take time to read the auction in it's entirety as much work and dollars have been spent. As well this is a verified true numbers matching car which makes the car very, very rare.

Heritage: This is a true numbers matching car and  I have a British Heritage Certificate proving it as such. The production date is Dec. 1972, commission number is CF 3837 U, engine number is CF 3941 UE,  body tag# 1  is T 3996 CF and body tag #2 is CF 3941 UE. The paint code is #72 Pimento red and the trim code is #11 black. If your looking at this auction you know how rare it is to find a certified numbers matching TR-6 and can be assured with the certificate it will only go up in value. I just moved and misplaced the certficate letter but have requested a duplicate copy of the Heritage Certificate which should be here prior to auctions end. The request was sent to: Richard Bacchus, Certificate Officer at the  British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Heritage Motor Centre. The orginal order information is as follows:

Mechanicals: The car has had much work done and dollars spent and she is ready for the open road. She runs and drives great and the engine compartment is very original as seen in the photos. The following items have been done in the past few months.  New points, new plugs, new ignition wires, new distributor cap, new rotor button, new air filters, new fuel filter, new fuel pump, oil changed, new fan belt, new rear brake shoes, new front brake hose, new thermostat, radiator reconditioned, new radiator cap & coolant, new battery, new intake manifold gasket, new exhaust manifold gasket, new heater control valve and the  gas tank cleaned cleaned. Also, nearly every single coolant / vacuum hose and clamp has been replaced as well as the carburetors being adjusted and balanced. The car starts right up with no smoke, ticks or shacking about. The car holds about 60 lbs. oil pressure at warm idle ( see photo of the gauges ), engine is tight and I have never seen a single fluid drop under the car during my ownership. I would have no issue driving the car any distance at this time.

Electrical's:  Many hours and dollars where spent on going through this area and here is what is working at this time: headlights ( high & low beam ), wipers, front & rear turn signals, front & rear running lights, brake lights, backup lights, license plate lights, heater  / defrost fan, interior courtesy light, dash gauge lights and the radio. The only thing I have not gotten around to is the horn.

Interior: Is in very, very nice condition as seen in the photos and has a new complete carpet kit installed along with new under dash / side  Kidney panels ( made in England ), new door seals and a new Walnut TR-6 logo gear shift knob.

Gauges: The car has all correct "Smith" gauges and all appear to be in proper working order at this time ( see photo ).

Exterior: The car looks great and I just had a mobile detail truck come out and hand wash and then wax the car. The paint shines great and is smooth to the touch with no gritty feel. The soft top is serviceable ( will keep you dry for the most part ) but I was planning to replace it so the car comes with a NEW in the box soft top. I just painted the wheels in correct "Moss" silver, installed correct mat black wheel centers and installed new TR-6 wheel center decals. The tires are all matching Goodyear " Invicta GS " radials that have good tread life remaining. The sills, rockers, wheel arches and dog legs look to be rust free and I find no evidence of any accident damage on the car.

Underbody: This area looks very good given the cars age and the frame looks very good as well. I see no evidence of repairs on the underbody of the car.

Trunk: The truck is rock solid ( see photos )and comes with a spare tire and jack. Sorry, no top cover or tonneau cover. Car does come with a near new car cover and stowage bag.

Buy It Now: The car is priced well below it's true value and while I'm open to offers please don't waste your time with silly low ball offers ( we all know what the car is worth ). The offers would need to be above the starting price or current bid price on the car. Please understand that I will only use E-bays prescribed methods to close the auction so don't ask me to do other wise.

Shipping: If you need to have the car shipped to your location you can get a free online quote from Able Auto Transport at: http://www.ableautotransport.com/ .

Overseas Bidders: Yes the auction is open to overseas bidders. The auction is open to overseas bidders and if you need to ship overseas try  Schumacher Cargo Logistics shipping for fast free quotes (  http://www.schumachercargo.com/  ).  Please have funds available at auctions end.

In Closing: The above description is my observations and opinions and they very from person to person so ask all questions prior to bidding. Again. not an expert just what I know and see so please ask any and all questions you might have.

I'm not an expert and my opinion of the car may vary from yours so please look at the photos closely and if you need more information or the extra photos I have available please ask prior to bidding. I know how hard it is to purchase a car online so please ask any and all questions you have prior to bidding or if you can come see and drive the car for yourself ( I really encourage you to do so ) as I want the winning bidder to be satisfied with the car when it arrives. Due to the cars age I'm selling her as mileage expect and as is. A $500 non-refundable deposit is due within 48 hours of auctions end.

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack

Sun, 21 Sep 2014

Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
