This is a No Reserve auction of a 1974 Triumph TR6 restoration project. If you are looking for an easy project to finish with all the bells and whistles then you won't want to miss this opportunity. If you are looking for a car to rebuild you can buy another car and deal with all the tearing apart and hidden surprises. Or you can get this one where there's absolutely nothing hidden.

Most of the hard work has been done but I no longer have the time or inclination to finish her so hopefully she can find a new home where she can be loved and brought back to life and enjoyed! The car sits as you see it.  The only major parts I haven't been able to verify are there are the differential, I think this was sold since we planned to use a toyota or jag LSD dif, the original carbs, which I think were sold bc we were going to use a single weber to run it in then build it up using fuel injection with either a turbo or supercharger, the guages which should be there but I didn't immediately see in the car, and the cloth top (I don't think I ever got one but the frame is there). They may in fact be burried in the car but please expect that at least some of these parts will possibly need to be obtained. Half the parts are in the car and half are in the loft in the barn. I have not made an extensive listing of everything and honestly don't have time to so I can not be responsible for specific items that are not there but I honestly think its somewhere between 80% and 85% complete, maybe a little less but my gut expects it to at least be a little more, and there are a bunch of spares included as well, such as extra alu swing arms, rear hubs and axles, 10 wheels, etc.

The car hasn't been touched since about 1991 as grad school, service in the navy, married life, kids, divorce, more grad school and a farm have kept me from finishing this project. The body is straight and rust free and painted in a signal red polyurethane with clear coat and has never seen sun or weather since then. It hasn't had its final buffing since the paint was applied. I still have a pint of the paint for touch ups as needed. The paint should buff out beautifully and the only blemishes I could find were 6 to 10 pin head sized bubbles up in the front corner of the hood that are so small I couldn't capture them in a picture and a garage ding in one door that will easily rub out. The frame appears to have only minor surface corrosion at most and looks to be in great shape as well. The windscreen is brand new and installed.

Nothing was spared on the engine and transmission when they were rebuilt. They currently are in the car. The engine has a cross drilled and hardened crank, a mild cam and forged rods and pistons. It has not been run in but turns with a socket as it should. The head had extensive milling, porting, polishing and flow testing done. The biggest valves and hardened seats available were installed for both intake and exhaust along with new bronze guides, double springs, new rocker shaft and tubular push rods. It also now has hemispherical chambers giving it a calculated 7.9 to 8.0:1 compression ratio. The plan was to run it in using a single webber and then install fuel injection blocks and a turbo charger with innercooler and use the MSD to adjust timing to the gas from the cockpit if needed. The rear was goint to get a toyota or jag LSD. You'll need to switch the pistons out for domed ones if you want a decent boost in HP without running a turbo or supercharger. Both the transmission and J-type overdrive were rebuilt and all wearing parts were replaced regardless of how they looked. The whole clutch assembly was replaced at that time.

There's a custom stainless Stebro exhaust that both looks and sounds absolutley amazing and is possibly one of a kind. Adjustable MSD I think is in the car that was triggered by a luminition module in the distributor. There was finned rear brake drums, a sealed gas tank, rebuilt front and rear brake calipers, a teak dashboard, a new wiring harness, etc that all should be there, plus a ton of other new, reconditioned or uprated parts such as braided brake lines, new front and rear sway bars, new steering rack with solid mounts, electric cooling fans etc. Things that aren't shown are the extra wheels, maybe 10 and 4 of which were powder coated black, 4 silver center caps for the wheels, steering wheel, and grill.

I'll do my best to answer any questions but this is mostly a WYSIWYG situation and I have done what I can to list what I know here or show it in the pics. There is also a 2" binder completely full of receipts from TRF and MOSS that total between $10,000 and $15,000. And that's in 1990 dollars!  And yes, I have a clear title in my name and in hand!

This item is local pick up only. The car is currently located about 5 minutes south of Gettysburg, PA right next to Ski Liberty in Carroll Valley. Pick up can be done in the evenings after work or on a weekend. I have to get it out of the garage as my house is being sold so please only bid if you can come get it by April 14th, but the sooner the better.

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack

Sun, 21 Sep 2014

Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
