I have for sale a 1974 Triumph TR6 that I purchased about a year ago; seller didn't know much about the car's history, unfortunately.

I believe it's been painted within the past 2 years, in a Ford maroon (I have sample touchup paint with the car) from original yellow. I can find no rust on the body and I believe that they did a thorough prep job before respraying; only blemishes I see are a paint run towards the front of the hood (circled on image 9) and what looks to be a small dent repair to the bodywork where the front bumper meets the front right fender (image 10) - please ask if you need better images / info. The frame looks sound.

I have recently mounted 4 KN 15" wheels and Dunlop SP Sport tires. There is currently no spare, as I intended to get a doughnut; I do have a refinished original TR6 rim, which I can include.

Emissions have been removed - charcoal canister, run-on valve, EGR, associated piping - but all these parts will be included with the car. When I bought the car, the rear lights were working intermittently and I've replaced bulbs and bulb holders and remade the wiring connections; have also replaced various seals and grommets around the trunk and on the doors. New trim and carpet in the trunk. Gearbox / tunnel cover replaced with fiberglass version. Fitted emergency hood release.
Soft top - no tears - and frame in good condition. Seats are in good shape.

Mechanically, I think the vehicle is sound - engine is strong, starts quickly and has good oil pressure; only problems of which I'm aware are the rear handbrake needs adjustment and an intermittently noisy speedo cable. Battery, starter and solenoid look to be quite new - trickle charge device included. Bumper overriders and radio removed by a previous owner and not included. Mileage shows 36334 - I have no idea if that should be 136334.

You can buy this car with confidence and use it immediately - valid NYS inspection through the end of August.

I bought the car as a bit of a project and had plans for several upgrades, but I just don't seem to have enough time to work on the car and don't see that changing in the next year. Let me know if you have any questions, thanks!

Note: I have listed the car locally.

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack

Sun, 21 Sep 2014

Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
