You will be bidding on one of the finest examples of a 1974 Triumph TR-6 anywhere.  The color stands out in French Blue with a Black interior and top.  The car has a six cylinder engine and 4 speed manual transmission that perform perfectly.  It was brought to Florida in 2006 where it had a full frame off restoration which was completed in 2009, the mileage at that time was 54,227.  It was completely taken apart, including engine and transmission, and brought to new condition (photo album will be included with the sale showing the car apart in every stage of the restoration).  The cost of the restoration was over $50,000.  The car is totally original except for a wood steering wheel, custom sisal floor mats with an accenting blue color, and headlight grills.  I will include the original factory steering wheel and Triumph floor mats with the sale.

The car was sold to a collector in Somers, N. Y. and then sold to me in January of 2012, the mileage at that time was 54,799.  The current mileage is 57,923.  I brought the car to a well know restoration shop in Milford, Connecticut for preventative maintenance  and anything that needed updating was completely.  I have receipts for all of the work that I had done.  I just had the car serviced and it also passed the New York State Inspection.

I looked for a long time to find a TR of this quality.  Most of the Triumphs out there are either poorly restored or in need of serious work, even the so called "all original cars".

My Triumph was restored keeping in mind originality.  The British Motor  Industry Heritage Trust "Certified Copy of a Factory Record" will be included with the sale.  It shows the original  VIN # CF/25185-UE and matching body # T.24062.CF.  It was built on August 7, 1974 and was shipped  from Avonmouth, England aboard the vessel "Avon Forest".

I had fun showing and driving this beautiful piece of British history and now I am ready to move on the next car ( I am not a collector, just a guy who enjoys cars).  The car runs strong and enjoyable to drive.  As always, please bid only if you are serious. I welcome all inspections, no tire kickers please. The car is being sold "as is".   I reserve the right to cancel the auction at any time.

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack

Sun, 21 Sep 2014

Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
