Nice Barn Find!

Being offered as a restoration project is a Rare 1976 Triumph Spitfire 1500.

The 1976 model year, was the only year where the compression ratio on the 1500 engine was raised to 9.1:1.  Also, it has no catalytic converter.

Very complete car with a solid body.  All bumpers are intact without dents or damage, and Chrome is very decent.  Includes unusual tubular chrome racing bar mounted above the front bumper.  Body overall is very good, rocker panels show minimal rust, and other body panels are rust free.  Trunk is good, with no significant rust as well.   The only significant rust is on the drivers side front floor pan, which has been reinforced with a panel from underneath and is solid.  Although the car has been repainted,  it doesn't look to be much if any bondo on this car!

Wood dash is decent,  but does show age.  This Spitfire is outfitted with a Custom NARDI Steering Wheel (needs to be refinished) and Articulated Chrome Map Light mounted below the glove box.  Window glass is good, although windshield does show some faint rub marks from wiper blade on passenger side.  They are surface only, and should polish out.

Speedometer shows mileage as 16,791, but I can't verify accuracy.

I was told the engine runs and transmission is functional, however there are several issues that need to be resolved before starting.

After looking it over here are things I noticed that need to be done.

1) Gas tank has been pulled, and shows interior rust.
2) Master clutch cylinder has been disconnected.
3) Needs battery
4) Some wiring and hoses need to be reconnected.
5) Fluids should be changed.
6) Car has the frame, but needs cloth top.
7) Upholstery/carpeting needs to be redone.

This 1976 Triumph Spitfire is being sold "AS IS" with "NO TITLE"

Please refer to pictures for details, and if you give me your email address I would be happy to send numerous other photos.

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack

Sun, 21 Sep 2014

Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
