I have done lots of work to this car in and out. It runs great.  Always draws a lot of attention everywhere i take it. I bought the car off of the son of the second owner. He had the car painted Mid Atlantic Metallic Pearl a few years back.   I use it just about every week to run around town or to just cruise.  The way it is now is setup for just driving and having fun. I restored it to drive and enjoy.   I added all new gauges including a Volt gauge,  Mechanical  Temp, Electronic Tach, and a Mechanical Oil Pressure Gauge, Electric Fuel gauge and Speedo.  These Gauges all work great. The Speedo gauge is not calibrated so it is a few MPH off from what you are really doing.   The previous owner had it in his garage and i have kept it in my garage as well.  The Vinyl Stripes are currently on. I just added them but if you prefer the car without stripes they can be very easily removed.

Mazda miata seats with working  speakers in the headrest,  I also have the spitfire seats, and the original gauges and the original 1970 style rear yellow blinker light as well as the license plate bracket.
New Carpet,  New custom made door panels with stainless steel insert
The Dash board is totally custom Stainless Steel, with a relocated heater control, this allow for the CD player up high. I looked all over the internet at how people had updated the dashboards. This is the only time i have ever seen this modification, it is super functional and way better than having the radio down  in front of the shifter.
The Gauges are Silver Rim White Face Equus Gauges. They are all working and functional, and look great!  Check out their website      equus. com/Product/Gauges/s8000

Exterior-  The top is tan, it is new. Functions perfect.  All the weather stripping on the car is new.  I swapped the big orange blinker with the MKII style bullet lens. I  have also added a long led strip brake light under the car.
The Chrome front over-riders are from a MG, i liked them better than the stock Spit ones, although i have the stock spitfire ones
The paint is 6.8 out of 10. If you can touch up and buff, you can probably get the paint to a 8.5.  I also have had paint mixed up to match. The grill is aluminum and in great shape.
the photos don't reflect the new coils and new halogen Lucas headlights
The trunk handle, rear license plate bracket and bumpers are shaved off. These can Easily be added back if you prefer, I still have all the pieces if you want to drill it out and put it on, or i can do it for you.  I really like the clean look,  one of the photos reflects the car with the bracket and bumpers if you want them back on.
New Halogen headlamps, not shown in photo.

Suspension-  The front shocks are new. The front lower trunions are new. The coil springs are new, and are set to British height, 1 inch lower than American.  Tranny and rear Differ just had the gear oil replaced.  (Some upgrades are not reflected in the photos)

Brakes- Front rear rubber brake lines are new.  Front and rear Pads are new.  Rear brake cylinders are new.  The master Cylinder is New.

Some of the Cons:  I do on hot days have the typical vapor lock, i was going to put the GT style hot air extractors to help but i have not gotten to it, and didnt want to cut into a perfectly good bonnet.
Current tires have great tread but are old.  They hold air well but have dry rot. I dont take the car over 50, and I have not taken it on the parkway because of the tires.  But they work just fine for around town.  The car has its squeaks and rattles. It could use an alignment once it gets new tires.  Original Speedo says 84k. I dont think that mileage it accurate. Although the guy I bought it from put extremely few miles on in the ten years he had it.  The Drivers Door latch doesn't flush the door up to the body, when its latched closed it looks like it isnt fully shut.  There is bondo on the car. The body work was done very well.  The driver floor pan has been repaired with heavy duty fiberglass. There is a few small rust holes in the trunk.  Tranny Shifts fine, no grinding, clutch is good, car will leave a patch on the pavement if you punch it! Reverse works fine you just need to hold it in place or it pops out. I think it is a simple adjustment because i added a new bushing kit to the shifter and it improved significantly. If i think of any other cons I will post them.

I have blue L.E.D lights under the dash as well to accent the paint.
Overall this is a fun car. If you are looking for a project there is a few little things to play with but its really just ready to hop in an drive. If you are going to get a run down spitfire to where this car is it will probably cost you over $4,000 and a whole lot of time!  I have the reserve set for less than i have into the car. I also have it for sale locally, So i  may end the auction early, although i prefer to let it run its course.  Contact me if you have any questions.

If you are local, I am 12 miles north of Charlotte you can come out and drive it. I am going to try to have a friend record a clip of the car running and driving for "you tube" so you can see and hear it.
I would recommend if you live far to flatbed or tow the car. There is no spare tire. I would only recommend a drive home if you live within a couple hours.

Get in and drive and enjoy it this summer! Email me with questions.

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack

Sun, 21 Sep 2014

Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
