I am selling my 2010 Toyota Tundra Double Cab, 4x4. I am the original owner of this truck. It is in Excellent working condition.

There is alot to cover on this truck, so I'm going to start by telling you a bit about myself. I am 31 years old, single, non-smoker, with no children. I am a truck driver by trade...(Peterbilt's, Kenworth's, etc..) I am also a bit of a shade-tree mechanic. Working on, and driving vehicles is my passion, and it is a big part of my life. I have worked on 100's of vehicles in my life, and have owned over a dozen cars and trucks, a dozen motorcycles, and many other motorized toys, boats, snowmobiles, jet-ski's, etc.

I bought this Toyota brand new in 2010. It sat in a garage in Montana for the first year of its life, while I was on the road working. The truck is titled in Montana. The title is clean, and I have it in my hand. I would come home every couple weeks and install various parts I had purchased. It was a project for most of that first year. The idea when I bought the truck was to run a true 35" tire, while keeping the truck -and the center of gravity- as low as possible. Ground clearance without sacrificing handling. I did everything myself except for the front springs, where I needed some help from the dealership. All oil changes, tire rotations, driveshaft lubrication, bumper installations, topper, bedrug, wheels, tires... I have done myself.

This is not my first truck, but it is without a doubt my best. I love this truck, and it really is the culmination of all my driving experience, wrapped into a package that I believe is one of the toughest, most reliable, and best looking trucks on the road. It does everything well, and really falls short nowhere. It has the speed and handling for Interstate trips, the clearance and 4x4 needed for off-road excursions, the towing/load-hauling capability, reliability... I can go on and on... all I can say is that to me, a professional driver, this is the perfect setup.

A tough financial situation is forcing the sale of this truck. It's not something I want to do. The truck is in San Diego with me now. It has been here in California for most of its life, after I moved here 2 years ago. It has never been a daily driver. It has been used mostly used for road trips, camping trips, or surfing trips, up and down the west coast, and in the western states.

Here's what has been added to the truck:

1) $3500 - SnugTop Super Sport Topper, with factory added Yakima roof-rack, ignition-independent LED lighting, Fold-down/sliding front window and a Pro-Lock glass rear door ... which can be locked from both the outside, or inside if you are camping.

2) $2750 - 35x12.50 R20 Toyo M/T Tires, mounted on 20" KMC Rockstar aluminum wheels. (The stock tire/wheel on this truck was  33" on 18"... so it is a minor +2" step up in both wheel size, and tire height... also adding an extra 2" of width, adding ~1" to both the inside and outside of the wheel center.

3) $300 - ARB/OME Heavy Coil Springs and Nitrogen OME Shocks up front. These were necessary to both support the weight of the front bumper, and to clear the larger tires. They greatly improved the ride, handling, and looks of the truck as well. No dive under braking, and very little sway from side to side. The rear suspension is totally stock, and the truck is perfectly level.

4) $2250 - ARB Deluxe Front Winch Bumper. You can find info on this at ARB's website. They are the best, crash tested, and airbag approved. This bumper weighs over 200 pounds and it is solid steel. Safe to say you will be driving away from most front end collisions. The factory foglight housings are mounted in the bumper and use the factory switch in the cab... all stock... the bulbs are different but I will cover this later under lighting. This bumper has provisions to mount a winch, although I never bothered.

5) $1300 - Expedition One Rear Bumper. This bumper is solid 3/16" steel as well. Very sturdy and safe to say the truck will remain drivable, with minimal damage, after a low to medium speed rear end collision. There are 2 heavy-duty attachment points and lights mounted in the bumper (which I will go over later).

6) $100 - Optima Yellow Deep Cycle Battery. These are the best batteries. Deep Cycle allows you to run it all the way down, and charge it back up many times, without damaging the battery.

7) Installed WeatherTech In-Channel window deflectors above the 4 cab windows. They fit great, work great, look great. No sticky tape, no mess.

8) WeatherTech Floor-mats up front, and a HuskyLiner 1-Piece floor liner across the entire rear floor. These floor mats catch and hold water, sand, and mud. The carpet/flooring underneath is just like new.

9) Lighting: Sylvannia SilverStar Ultra headlight bulbs for both high and low beams. JDM Yellow fog light bulbs, factory wattage, installed in the factory fog-light housing. 5W ARB orange front parking lights. White LED lighting in camper shell. 4" Truck-Lite LED lights mounted in rear bumper and on with parking lights (these are the best and very bright LED lights like you see on the best of the big 18-wheelers).

10) Locking gas cap.

11) Factory Security System has been activated.

12) $200 - LED Lighted and Heated Telescoping Tow Mirrors w/ turn signal indicators. Had the dealer add these premium mirrors during the sale.

13) $500 - BedRug. Padded and carpeted BedRug is installed with hook and loop fasteners. Removable. Marine-Grade carpet. Check the BedRug website for info. Color matches topper and interior.

Here's what has NOT been modified on the truck (some things are best left alone):

Everything under the hood is stock except for the battery. The engine, transmission, transfer case, drivelines, gears, front and rear axles, are all stock. Nothing has ever been touched or worked on. No modifications to the intake, exhaust, rear suspension, body, or frame of the truck. No modifications to the electrical system. The interior is all factory stock except for the floor-mats. There is no window tinting film on the truck of any kind.

Extra Info:

1) Oil has been changed every 5K miles. I used Mobil One full-synthetic 0W-20 (factory spec) and Toyota filters. Tire rotations and driveshaft lubrication with synthetic grease have been done at roughly the same intervals. I have a file on my computer where I keep track of all the maintenance intervals... you will get a copy with the truck.

2) The stereo has a factory 1/8" jack connector, for playing music from iPods/iPhones or whatever.

3) Everything locks. Factory alarm/key-fob, locking gas-cap, locking rear glass, locking Yakima roof-rack, keyed wheel locks on all 20 lugs... comes with two sets of keys for everything.

4) Truck comes with an oil filter wrench/tool in the glove box. You will need it to do oil changes.

5) Factory orange daytime running lights, fog lamps.

6) Cold Weather Package: heavy duty starter, heated mirrors, wiper de-icer.

7) Tow Package: 10,300 lbs., transmission cooler, 4.30 rear end with 10.5" ring gear, 150 Amp upgraded alternator, trans temp gauge, more...

Condition:

This truck is in 100% operational and functional excellent condition. Everything works. Everything has been cleaned, tuned, and adjusted properly.

This truck is in 90% like new cosmetic condition. It has no major dents or damage of any kind. No door dings. Some minor rock chips... some touched up, some not. The bumpers are black painted steel, and they have been touched up in a few places... either from minor bumps and dings from city parking, or from minor scratches and scrapes with bushes when off-roading... the best thing about steel bumpers is they never need to be replaced, just sanded and sprayed. I like how they look and they give the truck a rugged appearance. The wheels are in great condition.

The brakes are about ~30% worn. They have plenty of life left and are in great condition.

The tires are in great condition, no leaks or sidewall cuts/blisters. These tires have about 30K miles on them and have plenty of life left. I would say they have a little less than 50% tread remaining. I would expect them to last until around 45-50K miles.

Fluid levels are topped up and nothing leaks. Coolant is bright green. Oil is clear. Brake fluid is clear. Power steering fluid is good. Washer fluid ok. Everything is good.

Price:

KBB for this truck is around for a private party sale.

The truck was purchased new for $32,510. I have invested somewhere around $10,000 into parts and equipment.

I am starting the auction at the highest price offered to me by a wholesaler here in San Diego... but I am expecting this truck to sell somewhere around $27,500.

DELIVERY BONUS:

If you live in the western US (West of the Mississippi River), I will deliver this truck for free. Fly out here, check it out, and if you want, I will drive it to your house. Whatever you want to do, we can work it out.

This truck is beautiful and I get people stopping to say "nice truck" or take pictures every time I drive it!

Thanks and good luck with the auction :-)

2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross vs. small crossover SUVs: How they compare on paper

Fri, Feb 23 2018

In the midst of the crossover SUV boom, each traditional size segment has become saturated. As a result, automakers are beginning to fill the gaps that separate classes, giving us some interesting in-between options. The all-new 2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross jumps right into one of those in-between categories bookended by compact and subcompact crossovers. It's a niche that offers more space and feature content than the smallest vehicles, with an extra dose of style and a lower price than bigger ones. Because of the Eclipse Cross' in-between nature, though, there's not really an obvious direct competitor. As such, we've selected a diverse group of small crossovers that are similar to the Eclipse Cross in some but not all key areas: size, price, feature content, style and likely buyers. The 2018 Subaru Crosstrek, 2018 Toyota C-HR and 2018 Nissan Rogue Sport each have elements in common, but are different enough to provide useful points of comparison. A chart of specifications and key standard features is shown below, followed by more in-depth analysis. And if you wish to compare these crossovers with others not listed, be sure to check out our comparison tools. Engines and Drivetrains One of the Eclipse Cross' biggest advantages in this segment will be its engine. Subcompact crossovers, including the other three we've chosen, are sluggish to say the least. This new Mitsubishi should be different as it packs a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder that belts out a whopping 184 pound-feet of torque. We say whopping, because the C-HR, Crosstrek and Rogue Sport all have between 139 and 147 pound-feet. Horsepower is similarly unimpressive at just 152 horsepower - the same as the Crosstrek - but that torque should make passing and on-ramp runs much more satisfying. The appeal of crossovers for many people is the availability of all-wheel-drive, and this is where the Subaru gets an advantage. Like with all Subarus that aren't a BRZ, the Crosstrek has standard all-wheel drive. The Mitsubishi comes close, making all-wheel drive standard on every trim level except the very base ES trim level. On the Rogue Sport, all-wheel drive is an option on all trim levels. Depending on where you live, though, being able to have front drive on a high-trim crossover could be a plus because it will save some money and improve fuel economy. The C-HR loses this battle as it's only available with front-wheel drive.

2013 Pikes Peak Hill Climb, Practice Day 3

Thu, 27 Jun 2013

The third practice day of the 91st Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is done. While the other classes got running time on the middle and top sections of the course, qualifying times were set on the bottom section of the course for the Open, Open Wheel, Electric, Exhibition and Vintage classes.
Everyone managed to keep it on the black stuff today, Greg Tracy setting the fastest time ahead of Hiroshi Masuoka, both men driving the Mitsubishi MiEV Evolution II four-wheel-drive prototype. Not even half a second behind Masuoka came Nobuhiro "Monster" Tajima in his Monster Sport E-Runner, who has taken about 18 seconds off his time since the first practice day. Rod Millen was the fourth fastest on the day in his Toyota TMG EV POO2.
Topping the Open Wheel class was Clint Vahsholtz, followed by Donner Billingsley, Andy Figueroa and Rodney O'Maley. The only driver in that class not to be given a time today was Dan Novembre. Kenshiro Gushi took the Exhibition class today as his Lexus IS F CCS-R made it up the mountain in 4:27.248, followed by Sage Marie in the Honda CR-Z at 5:19.591. Simon Pagenaud and his Honda Odyssey weren't classified.

Toyota Mirai offers promising tech, unfortunate looks

Fri, Nov 21 2014

Is there some rule that all cutting-edge, ultra-efficient or emissions-free vehicles need to look, uh, weird? No? Then would anyone care to explain the Toyota Mirai, a vehicle that for all it's hugely, wildly promising technology, will forever be pigeonholed based on its odd styling? Looks aside, the Mirai represents a big gamble for Toyota, which isn't only selling a hydrogen-powered car – a risky venture in itself – but teaming up with Air Liquide to build 12 hydrogen filling stations across the northeast. And once that's done, it plans on leasing the $57,000 sedans for just $499 month, a figure that includes free hydrogen (there is a reason for that, though). Like we said, this is a big gamble. Of course, we still can't get over its looks, which you can more closely analyze in our live gallery, available above. Have a glance. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. THE FUTURE HAS ARRIVED, AND IT'S CALLED MIRAI President Akio Toyoda announces name of fuel cell sedan in web video CEO Jim Lentz announces expansion of Toyota fuel cell infrastructure investment to five-state Northeastern corridor NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., (Nov. 16, 2014) – Akio Toyoda has seen the future, and it's called "Mirai." That's the name of Toyota's new fuel cell vehicle, which the company's president announced in a video released the night before the car's official launch. Mirai, which means "future" in Japanese, represents a turning point for the automotive industry. The groundbreaking vehicle can travel up to 300 miles on a single tank of hydrogen, refuel in less than five minutes and emits only water vapor. Expanded Support for New Hydrogen Stations Of course, the car of the future won't become a reality without the hydrogen stations to support it. That's why Toyota North America chief executive officer (CEO) Jim Lentz announced a new commitment to drive the development of a hydrogen refueling infrastructure in five northeastern U.S. states. To support Mirai's introduction to the region in 2016, Toyota is collaborating with Air Liquide to develop and supply a phased network of 12 state-of-the-art hydrogen stations targeted for New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. The states and locations have been strategically selected in the greater New York and Boston areas to provide the backbone of a hydrogen highway for the Northeast corridor.
