You are bidding on a 2008 Toyota Tundra Cremax SR5 Pickup. 5.7 liter iForce v8, 4wd, 4door, extended cab, crew-max.  This truck is in pristine condition, inside and out. Meticulously maintained, all svc done by dealer.  Truck is still under bumper to bumper warranty from Toyota until 100K miles. This Toyota has full power, a power sliding sunroof, power rear window, JBL premium sound system, oversize Toyota running boards, a sliding retrax bed cover, oversize tires, Line-x bed liner. Other than navigation and leather, this Toyota has every feature available, and everything is in tip-top working condition. Interior is in mint/showroom condition, no stains, rips, holes of any sort, and it also has Weather Tech floor liners to keep it that way.  Exterior is also in excellent condition, minus one very small door ding on driver side courtesy of grocery store shopper.  The door dimple is so small that I could not get it to come out in the photo, and 99.9% not noticeable unless its pointed out, but I want to be as up front about everything as I can.  Tires have about 30-35% tread life left, and they are a little louder than factory tires because of the larger knobs (tread pattern)  Overall the interior is a 10 out of 10 and the exterior is a 9.9 out of 10 (it would be 10 if not the dimple on the door) There are no scratches, no rust, no dents.  Everything works 100%.  Feel free to contact me at 773-485-5011 with any questions.  I withhold the right to cancel the auction as the truck is for sale locally.  Deposit of 500$ is due within 24 hours of auction end, any shipping is to be arranged by buyer.  Car is located in Chicago northwest suburbs.  Thanks, and happy bidding.

Jim Lentz exposes more details behind Toyota's move to Texas

Fri, 02 May 2014

Toyota's North American CEO Jim Lentz has already given us a rough idea of what prompted the company's surprise move to the Dallas suburb of Plano, TX from its longstanding headquarters in Torrance, CA. A new story from The Los Angeles Times, though, delivers even more detail from Lentz on the reasoning for the move, what other cities were considered and why the company's current host city wasn't even in the running.
Of course, one of the more popular reasons being bandied about includes the $40 million Texas was set to give the company for the move, as well as the state's generous tax rates. According to Lentz, though, the reason Toyota chose Plano over a group of finalists made up of Atlanta, Charlotte and Denver, was far simpler than that - it was about consolidating its marketing, sales, engineering and production teams in a region that's closer to the company's seat of manufacturing in the south.
"It doesn't make sense to have oversight of manufacturing 2,000 miles away from where the cars were made," Lentz told The Times. "Geography is the reason not to have our headquarters in California."

How Charlotte lost to Plano without even knowing it was dealing with Toyota

Thu, 08 May 2014

With Toyota set to relocate its North American headquarters to the Dallas, TX suburb of Plano following a top-secret, 100-city search, the cities that missed out can now begin asking themselves what happened during a process they apparently knew little about.
That's a particularly brutal task for Charlotte, which, according to North Carolina's Secretary of Commerce, Sharon Decker, finished second to Plano. While Toyota has been fairly open about what it was looking for in a new headquarters city - direct flights to Japan, proximity to its US production facilities, a lower cost of living, high-quality educational facilities and finding a neutral site suitable to the California, Kentucky and New York-based employees that would be relocated - it's been less open about how the finalist cities, which also included Atlanta and Denver, stacked up against each other.
The Charlotte Observer has a few ideas. Part of the problem is the distinct lack of direct flights between Charlotte and Asia. US Airways, which operates a hub at Charlotte/Douglas International Airport, doesn't fly to Asia.

The Fate of the Furious music video shows how much Demons love donuts

Fri, Mar 3 2017

The new Dodge Demon is leaking into everything related to The Fate of the Furious in the lead-up to both the car and the film's debut in just over a month. The latest teaser involves Demons doing donuts and burnouts in the Get Off music video, with copious amounts of both tire smoke and hip hop to accompany the tire-shredding shenanigans. It also gives us a look at some of the film's other cars. Get Off is a song by Travis Scott, Quavo, and Lil Uzi that's featured on The Fate of the Furious soundtrack, which is out now. The teaser for the music video features a pack of Dodge Challengers - both Demon and non-Demon spec - along with a line of non-SRT related products. From what we can see, the movie will have a Scion FR-S/Toyota 86, a highly modified C2 generation Chevrolet Corvette, and a Mercedes-AMG GT S. In typical over-the-top fashion, the final shot shows a submarine bursting through ice in pursuit of several cars, including a Subaru WRX. We can't see much else as the full music video hasn't been released, but expect a few more teasers once it does. The Fate of the Furious debuts Friday, April 14, just days after the Dodge Demon's debut at the New York Auto Show.
