2000 Toyota Tundra Base Standard Cab Pickup 2-door 3.4l on 2040-cars
Washington, Pennsylvania, United States
2000 TOYOTA, TUNDRA, PICK-UP TRUCK- NOT RUNNING!!! Being Sold "AS IS/WHERE IS"!!! This is my personal vehicle and I've owned it for about the past ten years and it was very dependable until recently when I had a new timing belt and water pump installed at the local Toyota garage and drove it only thirty miles when the cam went out and the new timing belt slipped-off and broke it's plastic housing. They told me it need s a new, re-built or used motor. I used it as a regular work truck so it needs cleaned-up but the body and interior are in fair condition for it's a age and use. There are minor dents and scratches and the passenger side door has some oxidation staining. The Air Conditioning works and so does the CD Player. It has a long bed. Please ask questions and inspect the truck before bidding. This vehicle must be paid for and picked up within one week of the auctions closing....NO Exceptions! This may be a great buy for someone with access to a used motor at a good price and the skills to repair it themselves. Thank you for your interest and good luck bidding... UPDATE : Pictures added to eBay listing and here is what the Toyota Service Center inspection invoice reads; "Pulley came through timing cover, Left bank cam shaft broken off."( Dated 10/21/13.) The actual mileage reading on the odometer to date is 149,327 and not 150,000 posted earlier. |

4th-gen Toyota Prius production delayed by 6 months
Mon, 30 Jun 2014If you were holding off buying a new car in anticipation of the fourth-generation Toyota Prius arriving in 2015, your wait might be a little longer. Company insiders are claiming that production of the bestselling hybrid is being pushed back from spring to possibly as late as December 2015. Toyota is reportedly still making alterations to make sure everything is just right before it unleashes the all-important, efficient hatch on a waiting public.
According to unnamed sources speaking to Automotive News Europe, the main reasons for the delay aren't completely known. It's believed the engineers are still working on making the hybrid powertrain more efficient and improving the new Toyota Global Architecture modular platform. The insiders claim that the final production prototype of the Prius is still under development, and it might be November before it's finalized. From there, it usually takes around 12 months to tool up and for the first car to roll off the assembly line. It would be another year after that before the plug-in variant starts assembly. The national manager of Toyota Product Communications, Michael Kroll, told AutoblogGreen, "As you might expect, we can't comment on future product plans."
Despite the delay, some potential details have already emerged about the new hybrid. A company spokesperson recently told Autoblog via email that Toyota is engineering the next-gen Prius to have smaller, more power-dense electric motors and greater thermal efficiency. The new modular platform is also rumored reduce weight, and the changes could lead to a targeted 10 percent improvement in fuel economy.
Lexus eschews production in China over quality concerns
Sat, 03 May 2014One of the more popular trends in the auto industry is setting up production operations in China. Mainstream manufacturers like Ford, General Motors and Volkswagen have done it, and even luxury marques like Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz have or will soon have manufacturing ops in the People's Republic.
One company that isn't building cars in China, though, is Lexus. The Toyota-owned luxury brand still manufactures all of its vehicles in Japan (aside from a few RXs, which are built at a Toyota factory in Canada). According to Tokuo Fukuichi, Lexus just isn't ready to build cars there yet.
"The German Three have a brand image that they have cultivated over the past century in their long history, but Lexus is not in people's minds like that yet," Fukuichi-san told Reuters UK.
Watch this cement truck roll into Toyota minivan from driver's point of view
Thu, 10 Apr 2014If you've been having an easy day and haven't received your daily dose of unmitigated terror, then this video is for you. Dr. Guan Zhu, a Texas A&M professor, caught the above view on his dashcam in College Station, TX, as a cement truck ran a red light, lost control and rolled into his Toyota Sienna minivan.
Although he received only minor injuries, Dr. Zhu says that he blacked out during the accident. The truck driver also avoided serious injuries, and the Sienna took the hit rather well too. Scroll down to watch the footage and report from KBTX. Hopefully, this is as close anyone else ever gets to a terrifying event of this nature.
