Up for sale is my 2013 Toyota Tacoma TRD Offroad Edetion. I bought this truck brand new in October 2012 and due to some curveballs thrown my way in life I need to sell it. Its a non smoker, one owner, clear title. This is a truck identical to what would come off the showroom floor. Its MINT. Not a scratch or a ding anywhere on the vehicle. It just went in for its first scheduled service last month. I have only used the truck to commute to work and back. Its Black Pearl Metallic in color with the TRD Offroad package wich includes a rear differential lock, A-Trac, Bilstein Shocks, skid plates and much more including the towing package. Its a four door short bed with an 120v outlet in the bed, I have added a factory bed mat, an Access Limited roll up bed cover, and weather tech floor mats (originals included) and had the front windows tinted to match the rear. Its a very very sharp truck. It has the touch screen in dash CD player (non-entune) and a backup camera as well. Save your self a few thousand at the dealer and buy this one that is so close to brand new its rediculous. Cash in person or Cashiers check from a bank only. Jim Lentz exposes more details behind Toyota's move to Texas
Fri, 02 May 2014Toyota's North American CEO Jim Lentz has already given us a rough idea of what prompted the company's surprise move to the Dallas suburb of Plano, TX from its longstanding headquarters in Torrance, CA. A new story from The Los Angeles Times, though, delivers even more detail from Lentz on the reasoning for the move, what other cities were considered and why the company's current host city wasn't even in the running.
Of course, one of the more popular reasons being bandied about includes the $40 million Texas was set to give the company for the move, as well as the state's generous tax rates. According to Lentz, though, the reason Toyota chose Plano over a group of finalists made up of Atlanta, Charlotte and Denver, was far simpler than that - it was about consolidating its marketing, sales, engineering and production teams in a region that's closer to the company's seat of manufacturing in the south.
"It doesn't make sense to have oversight of manufacturing 2,000 miles away from where the cars were made," Lentz told The Times. "Geography is the reason not to have our headquarters in California."
Two new RWD Toyota sports cars to join FR-S?
Fri, 09 Aug 2013Toyota as we know it could become a thing of the past. According to Australian site Car Advice, the Japanese brand known for bland cruisers like the Camry and Corolla is preparing to bring two new rear-drive cars to market that would slot above and below the Scion-badged FR-S. This is very, very good news.
Car Advice spoke to the GT86/FR-S' chief engineer, Tatsuya Tada, who claimed, "Akio Toyoda always says to me, Toyota sports car [family] should be three sports car brothers. 86 is in the middle." The oldest "brother" would be the spiritual successor to the Supra, even if it doesn't wear that name. Tada is in charge of that project, while a sub-GT86 project is being headed-up elsewhere.
Tada refused to comment on names (CA specifically mentions MR2 and Celica) for the new small car, but did say that, "Yes it is rear-wheel drive and that's Toyota's strong position - Toyota sports car must be rear-wheel drive." Perhaps the juiciest bit of information obtained from Tada's interview with Car Advice was his hinting that both new sports cars would be joint ventures, like the GT86/FR-S/Subaru BRZ triplets. Tada wouldn't say who Toyota was in bed with on the smaller model, but did mention that the Supra would be a product of the world's largest automaker's partnership with BMW.
2014 Toyota Tundra to debut at Chicago Auto Show
Thu, 24 Jan 2013The fullsize pickup market is dominated by trucks from Ford, General Motors and Ram, but this segment could get some hefty competition in coming years. We've already reported that Nissan is planning a redesign of its Titan truck for 2015, and now Toyota has announced that it will be revealing the 2014 Tundra next month at the Chicago Auto Show.
In the brief press release posted below, Toyota says that the 2014 Tundra will be "redesigned," but it's unclear as to whether this means we'll be seeing an all-new truck or just an extensive refresh. The current Tundra design has been around since 2007 and sales are hardly worrisome to the Big Three, so a new design would be a logical guess.
In any case, we only have to wait a couple more weeks for the new Tundra to debut on February 7, and we'll be on hand to bring you plenty of live coverage from the show.
