2001 Toyota Tacoma Pre Runner Crew Cab Pickup 4-door 2.7l on 2040-cars

I am the original owner of this extremely nice 2001 Tacoma Prerunner. It functions as well today as the day I drove it home from Toyota West in Columbus. The tires only have about 5,000 miles on them and everything works, including the air conditioning and audio system. The ARE cap is their top of the line model and was about $1,400 new.
The paint is in very good condition as is the chrome. There is no rust on the body panels. The only flaws are some places on the alloy wheels where the paint has been scraped where the previous wheel weights were mounted and a few very minor stone chips. The interior has no rips or tears and still looks new. This is true for the front and back seats. This truck has never been smoked in. The truck has 176,000 miles on it but has been well maintained its entire life and should go another 176,000 with normal maintenance. Ask anyone who has ever owned a Toyota truck and you will find out why these trucks are so popular, even when they are preowned. This is a super truck and my E-Bay feedback shows my products can be trusted to be as advertised. We are only selling it because we are moving to Hawaii and need a four wheel drive truck over there. Please contact me with any questions. |

This Irishman really likes the Toyota GT86
Sun, 10 Feb 2013Okay, okay - by this point in time just liking the Toyota GT86 (Scion FR-S, Subaru BRZ, what have you) doesn't make you special. Even if you're a sort of funny sounding, funny looking Irishman, who probably isn't the most seasoned car reviewer ever, digging the GT86 is not news.
However, if, when you choose to publish your ten-minute-long review, you include exclamatory phrases about your own pubic hair, Ozzy Osborne's drug habit and "gentleman vegetable stuff," well sir, then you'll have our attention.
Don't give up on this video, available down below, after the first couple of minutes, we implore you. The silver-tongued Irishman doesn't really get warmed up until four minutes in, or so. Believe us, it's worth the wait.
Crushing 1984 Ford Ranger to make a point about clean cars
Fri, May 29 2015Being a professional politician is often about more than just getting legislation passed, and a little showmanship can go a long way towards getting a point across. California State Senate leader Kevin de Leon recently staged just such a flashy stunt when he crushed a 1984 Ford Ranger at a rally kicking off an EV incentives pilot program. De Leon sponsored a bill last year that, in part, tried to give greater support to low-income buyers who wanted to trade in their old clunker for a zero-emissions vehicle. He hoped to improve the state's Clean Vehicle Rebate Project, which has been accused of especially helping the wealthy. After watching their Ranger get destroyed at this event, the Mendoza family that owned the truck drove away in a 2013 Toyota Prius, according to the Sacramento Business Journal. Under the pilot program, buyers in two air districts in the Golden State can take advantage of these incentives. Depending on their income and the vehicle they are purchasing, people can get a rebate of between $1,500 and $9,500, according to the Sacramento Business Journal. For now, the California Air Resources Board has set aside $5 million from the state's cap-and-trade program to fund things in these areas. Later, it will vote whether to adopt the initiative statewide. Not to be outdone, Arnold Schwarzenegger has thrown his prodigious muscle behind this program, and he put out an even more explosive video showing how to get rid of these old vehicles. You can watch a clip of the Ranger's destruction from the Sacramento Business Journal above and the Governator's response, below. This content is hosted by a third party. What's in a trademark? Sometimes, the next iconic car name
Thu, 07 Aug 2014
The United States Patent and Trademark Office is a treasure trove for auto enthusiasts, especially those who double as conspiracy theorists.
Why has Toyota applied to trademark "Supra," the name of one of its legendary sports cars, even though it hasn't sold one in the United States in 16 years? Why would General Motors continue to register "Chevelle" long after one of the most famous American muscle cars hit the end of the road? And what could Chrysler possibly do with the rights to "313," the area code for Detroit?
