One of the best bodes I've seen in the last 15 years, and Southern California had the highest concentration of this generation Toyota trucks in the country. I have owned a bunch of these trucks since they were just a couple years old. I purchased this one from the original owner in May of last year and just added to my collection. Other then taking it around my neighborhood once, all the miles were put on by the original owner. The title in the picture with the window sticker is the original. The original owner is a famous engineer and inventor, and holds many patents, and this was his baby.  He only used it for 107,621 miles...original miles. The original owner has a folder an inch thick of service records. He saved everything from the dealer, even the radio info card that dangles from the knob when it's new.  100% original paint. Never scratched or dented.  Garaged most of the time. Never used for work, or off road use. I am a collector of this generation truck, and 4runner's, and I've been selling off most of my extra vehicles that I don't use...thanks to my only neighbor.

This vehicle has not been buffed, waxed, nor detailed for the pictures; the new owner can do that. As you can see in the last few pictures, I was losing the sun, so I will add more picture soon. It's missing the end-cap of the right rear bumper, and the bottom-cap of the drivers side mirror.

Vote to unionize Toyota Canada plant faces delay

Fri, 04 Apr 2014

Volkswagen isn't the only automaker with high-profile unionization efforts afoot at one of its North American factories. Unifor, Canada's largest private-sector union, is attempting to organize Toyota's factories in Ontario, reports Reuters. A vote was originally set for next week, but Unifor has apparently found more workers eligible to vote, delaying the proceedings. It hasn't rescheduled the ballot yet, but claims there are 7,500 employees with the right to vote, with over 3,000 having already signed union cards.
Toyota is pushing against organizing, saying that workers already have a payment and benefits near the top of the industry, and noting that it has never laid off a permanent employee in Canada. Unifor has reportedly countered by saying that about a quarter of the workforce is operating under a temporary contract, which receives lower benefits.
The automaker has three factories in Ontario - two in Cambridge and one in Woodstock. To form a union, a majority of eligible employees must vote to join Unifor. If successful, they would be the first wholly owned Toyota plants in North America to be organized. Previous attempts to unionize the Japanese automaker's Canadian factories in 2001 and 2008 failed due to lack of support.

Toyota Aygo, Citro?n C1 to join Peugeot 108 in Geneva

Thu, 20 Feb 2014

Just the other day, Peugeot took the wraps off the new 108. But its new city car, like the 107 it replaces, doesn't stand on its own. The 107 was a sister vehicle to not only the Citroën C1 but also the Toyota Aygo. So it should come as little surprise that, while Peugeot was the first to release photos and details on its version, Citroën and Toyota will also be on hand with their own versions when the veils lift on all three at the Geneva Motor Show.
We're expecting the new trio of budget-oriented hatchbacks to bear the fruits of individual efforts to distinguish themselves one from another more than their predecessors, which essentially looked the same save for different badges. But from the teaser image above, we'd venture that the Toyota version will be a further departure from the 108 than the C1 will be.
One way or another we'll have to wait and see, but for now you can view Toyota's teaser clip below, along with the press releases confirming the debut of both in Geneva next month.

Toyota recalls 209,000 FJ Cruisers over seatbelt issue

Sat, 16 Mar 2013

Toyota has announced that it will be issuing a substantial recall of the FJ Cruiser for a problem that could cause the front seatbelt retractors to separate from the vehicle body. This recall will apply to all FJ Cruisers - from 2007 through 2013 - totaling around 209,000 units.
The problem stems from the FJ Cruiser's pillarless door opening design that has the front-occupant seatbelts attached to the rear doors. Toyota says that when the rear doors are "repeatedly and forcefully closed," the retractor could completely separate from the door frame.
While there is no information about this recall from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration yet, Toyota says that there have been no accidents or injuries associated with this issue. No specific fix or recall date are given, but the official press release is posted below.
