1996 Toyota Tacoma Dlx Standard Cab Pickup 2-door 2.4l on 2040-cars
Castaic, California, United States
Great truck in excellent running condition with brand new catalytic converter, windshield, windshield wipers and up to over $500.00 in new replacement parts within the last 2 years including a new battery. Recently smog checked, registered and insured. There is a ribbed bed liner and solid metal hooks in each corner perfect for securing heavy loads with tie downs. (I personally have loaded several dirt bikes and dogs in the back with ease.) Truck has overdrive to give added power over grades, although I rarely used it unless I had a heavy load in the back. The CD player was an add on as well as upgraded speakers.
I am the second owner. Purchased as my first vehicle over ten years ago from a private seller in China Town. Good truck, but I no longer need it since I no longer ride or have a dog, in the market for a car so selling truck. No problems just time for an upgrade. *There is a dent in the right rear side below the tail light and some minor paint scratches so I am asking a little below Kelly Blue Book value. *The truck must be picked up or buyer pays for tow service/shipping. I am 3 minutes off of the 5 freeway 15 minutes North of Santa Clarita (Near Magic Mountain) *Sale is as is and final. Payment can be in two installments. Instant PayPal or cash in person. Title will not be handed over until payments are completed. |

Toyota GT86 GT4 racer is ready for UK competition
Tue, 05 Feb 2013It's about time we saw someone cook up a legitimate race version of the delectable Toyota GT86, and now it looks as if GPRM has done just that. The Buckingham-based race engineering team has built the creation you see here, complete with a turbocharged 2.0-liter, direct-injection four-cylinder boxer cooked up by Nicholson McLaren Engines. The team says the new mill delivers between 360 and 400 horsepower to the rear wheels depending on final testing, which is a sight bit more than the 197 horses the naturally aspirated stock mill offers.
The car will compete in GT4 events, including the Avon Tyres British GT Championship. Technically, the GPRM effort isn't factory backed, but the team says the effort "has the blessing of Toyota Great Britain." How could it not? You can check out the brief press release below below, and be sure to take a closer look at the machine in our gallery.
EVO "2012 Car of the Year: The Track Battles" is a sports car salmagundi
Sun, 25 Nov 2012EVO has come out with another gotta-watch-it video, throwing its 2012 Car of the Year contestants around the UK's 1.5-mile Blyton Park track. It's actually a 15-minute teaser for the full-length DVD detailing the magazine's Car of the Year selection, but the tease is worth every penny free second.
Tiff Needell and sports car racer Richard Meaden handle the wheel duties, the two driving five pairs of sports cars: Lotus Exige S vs. Porsche Boxster S, Morgan Three-Wheeler vs. Toyota GT86, BMW M135i vs. Porsche 911, Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series vs. Alpina B3 GT3, the marquee event pits the McLaren MP4-12C vs. the Pagani Huayra. After a head-to-head lap with commentary during drifts, Meaden takes each car out to set a representative lap time.
You'll find the verdicts, lots of tire smoke, and lines like "Anything you can do sideways I can do sideways" in the video below.
Toyota found not at fault in alleged unintended acceleration crash
Fri, 11 Oct 2013Toyota has already paid out millions and billions of dollars in settlements surrounding unintended acceleration, but the first lawsuit in the matter, which headed to a California court in July, has reached a verdict. Following the 2009 death of Noriko Uno, whose 2006 Camry was hit by another car and then sped out of control before crashing into a tree, the jury found that Toyota was not at fault in the crash.
Even though the 2006 Camry (shown above) wasn't involved in any of the unintended acceleration-related recalls and it was not equipped with a brake override, Automotive News reports that the jury's verdict says there was no defect in the car and actually blames the entire incident on the driver that ran into Uno's car - to the tune of $10 million. The accident started when the other driver ran a stop sign and hit Uno's car, and the report says that medical conditions (including diabetes) caused Uno to fail to stop her Camry.
The AN article also states that this lawsuit was a bellwether case for around 85 other personal-injury and wrongful-death suits against Toyota, but there are still many impending suits across the country. Scroll down for an official statement on this particular case from Toyota.
