UP FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION HERE WE HAVE A 1983 TOYOTA HILUX SR5 4X4, FACTORY A/C, SUNROOF, DELUXE BUCKET SEATS WITH CENTER CONSOLE. THIS TRUCK IS AMAZING! IT RETAINS THE ORIGINAL FACTORY PAINT. THERE ARE A (FEW) MINOR PLACES THAT SHOW SOME AGE ON THE HOOD AND THE INSIDE OF THE BED HAS SOME SURFACE RUST ONLY, THE PREVIOUS OWNER REMOVED THE PLASTIC BEDLINER TO SPRAY A LINEX AND THANKFULLY I CAUGHT IT BEFORE THAT HAPPENED. I HAVE KNOWN THIS TRUCK SINCE IT WAS NEW, I HAD THE SAME TRUCK BUT A DIFFERENT COLOR.

THE ORIGINAL OWNERS WIDOW SOLD THE TRUCK TO THE GUY I PURCHASED THE TRUCK FROM. I RAN THE GUY DOWN (KNOWING THE TRUCK) AND INSISTED HE SELL ME THE TRUCK! THE ORIGINAL OWNER WASHED AND WAXED THIS TRUCK EVERY WEEK, IT WAS HIS BABY AND IT SHOWS! IF I WERE TO KEEP THIS TRUCK PERSONALLY I WOULD PUT IT BACK TO STOCK HEIGHT AND USE ORIGINAL WHEELS, THIS TRUCK HAS NEVER EVER SEEN ANY MUD OR OFF ROAD USE. THE A/C BLOWS COLD AND IT GOES DOWN THE ROAD LIKE IT SHOULD. I WILL LET THE PICTURES SPEAK FOR THIS TRUCK, IT IS ORIGINAL AND HAS NOT BEEN RESTORED, YOU WOULD BE HARD PRESSED TO FIND A ORIGINAL 83 TOYOTA 4X4 IN THIS RUST FREE CONDITION, MOST OF THEM HAVE RUSTED AWAY BUT NOT THIS LITTLE JEWEL, THE TRUCK IS FOR SALE LOCALLY AND I HONESTLY DO NOT THINK THIS AUCTION WILL MAKE A FULL RUN. Consumer Reports says Toyota, Ford, Honda and Chevy are big winners in brand perception survey

Wed, 05 Feb 2014

According to Consumer Reports, the automotive brands that stand out in the minds of car buyers are, in order: Toyota, Ford, Honda and Chevrolet. This news comes after the magazine polled its readers, asking them to take into account vehicle quality, safety, performance, value, fuel economy, design/style, and technology/innovation - which are the factors that car shoppers are most influenced by.
It's important to note that this award is only about perception. In other words, it's perceived quality, not actual quality. "Often, perception can be a trailing indicator, reflecting years of good or bad performance in a category, and it can also be influenced by headlines in the media," said Jeff Bartlett, Consumer Reports deputy automotive editor.
The brand that made the biggest jump in perception amongst Consumer Reports readers is Tesla, which posted an impressive 47-point gain to finish in fifth place. Subaru is also notable for finishing in the top 10, despite being one of the smaller manufacturers doing business in the US. Scroll down below for all the details from Consumer Reports, if you're so inclined.

VW takes world sales crown from Toyota for first half of 2015

Tue, Jul 28 2015

Despite uncertainty in major markets like Russia and China, Volkswagen is wearing the global sales crown for the first half of the year to overtake Toyota. Through the first six months of 2015, VW sold 5.04 million vehicles, which only narrowly beat its Japanese rival's 5.02 million, Reuters reports. The half-year trophy also placed the German brand one step closer to the goal of being the world's largest automaker. VW can't just cruise through the second half of 2015 to continue wearing the crown, though. The company is a major player in China, and that might start to be a disadvantage soon. Auto demand there is expected to be weak for the rest of the year, which could mean dire effects for companies around the world. According to Reuters, the Western European market shows few signs of a sudden surge, either. To turn things around, VW is working on a massive realignment to be more responsive by organizing its 12 brands under four separate holding companies. One factor in VW's favor is that Toyota is facing its own sales struggles across the globe. In the last fiscal year, the Japanese automaker had growing profits but actual volume was down. At the time, the company predicted a drop to 8.9 million vehicles for the current fiscal period. According to Reuters, Toyota has had problems growing in emerging markets and dealing with higher taxes on small vehicles in Japan. For all of 2014, Toyota held the sales trophy with 10.23 million sales, and VW was in second place with 10.14 million. General Motors came in third with 9.92 million. The year was the first time that VW or Toyota had ever surpassed 10 million vehicles over the stretch of a calendar. Related Video:

Toyota sees profit slip but beat earlier forecasts

Sat, Nov 7 2020

TOKYO — ToyotaÂ’s July-September profit fell 11% from a year earlier as the coronavirus pandemic slammed global demand, but JapanÂ’s top automaker appeared to be holding up better than weaker rivals that have sunk into the red. Toyota reported Friday a quarterly profit of 470.5 billion yen ($4.5 billion), down from 530 billion yen a year ago. Quarterly sales slipped to 6.77 trillion yen ($65 billion) from 7.64 trillion yen. Its president, Akio Toyoda, told reporters Toyota employees worked extremely hard, including making masks and face shields and boosting efficiency at factories to achieve results despite the pandemic. “Toyota has become gradually stronger,” he said, offering gratitude and praise for how resilient Toyota has proven itself to be. “This shows how each individual worked so hard,” said Toyoda, the grandson of the automakerÂ’s founder, vowing that each of its employees will keep thinking about contributing to a better world. Toyota raised its global sales forecast to 9.4 million vehicles for the fiscal year through March 2021, better than its earlier forecast for 9.1 million vehicles. ThatÂ’s still lagging behind the more than 10.5 million vehicles sold in the last fiscal year. Toyota, based in Toyota city in Aichi, central Japan, said it expects to record a 1.4 trillion yen ($13.5 billion) profit for the fiscal year. It earlier projected 730 billion yen ($7 billion) in profit. Toyota, which makes Lexus luxury models and the Prius hybrid, recorded 2 trillion yen ($19 billion) in profit the previous fiscal year. ToyotaÂ’s operating income fell in most regions, including Japan and other Asian markets, but improved in North America. Operating Officer Kenta Kon expressed caution about the U.S. outlook, given the rising coronavirus cases. But he said ToyotaÂ’s latest models were popular, and dealers were adjusting incentives to get good results. All the worldÂ’s automakers have been slammed by shrinking demand as COVID-19 squelches economic activity. Some nations, including Japan, have sunk into recession. Although uncertainties persist about further outbreaks and when a vaccine might be available, there are signs of recovery in some parts of the world. Japan has managed to keep pandemic-related deaths at fewer than 2,000. It has reported about 105,000 cases nationwide.
